Unlike a regular warrior Crystal wasn't too good at distinguishing many cat scents apart. She could tell the tom scents from the she-cat scents as that was simple enough, but she couldn't tell who was who or anything like that. The one scent that did come to her easier was quite obviously a young tom, but that's all she knew about that. Between the rain and all the other scents Crystal couldn't exactly tell where the tom's scent was going, but she was sure he was close by. She hoped that he wouldn't have scented her as well, especially if the wind was going against her - Crystal hadn't been paying attention to the wind as of late, she had only been paying attention to finding the camp.

Drawing in a deep breath of air the ginger she-cat did her best to find where the cat's scent had gone. From what she could smell it seemed as if the Clan cat was going deeper into the woods and away from the camp. With this in mind she veered off just a few paces away from where she was sure the camp was to find the young tom. His scent was still distinguishable to Crystal, but she wasn't exactly sure where he was now. Somewhere a bit apart from the camp, that was for sure. No matter. She would find him. And once she did she was going to use him as her little pawn, that was for sure.

Creeping low, and very still, Kalepaw kept an eye out from the bushes. The tom hadn't thought to try and distinguish or pay any thought to who the intruder was, all he cared to know was that they were a rogue, and they were a threat.

Through the rain dampening his fur, he could still feel himself sweating a little. He was nervous. The chances that this other cat was stronger than him was high, especially if they had been the ones to attack Leafblaze. But if that were the case, surely Leafblaze would of injured the rogue back? Unless he was that terrible of a warrior.
However, if he had injured the rogue, why were they still here? Wouldnt they have backed down to heal?

He anxiously shuffled his paws. The scent was getting stronger. He felt the blood pumping in his ears, and heard the loud thumping of his heart.
There. He could see something. There was no doubt in his mind that it was the rogue.
Swallowing down his fears he unsheathed his claws, ready to attack. But he still felt something holding him back, like anchors weighing down his paws.
Why did this have to happen on the day he came out alone.

As a fighter Crystal could very well hold her own. Sure, she could hunt as she had been on her own before Ahadi's group had come along. Before she had met Onyx and had her kits she had been completely alone where she had hunted for herself and had hunted well. There had been some nights where she had gone hungry, but she never starved. Now that she was in an organized group she could be the fighter she always was while the lithe cats did all the hunting. She had always been a strong, muscular cat - her mother had been of the same build as well. Her mother had been a powerful ginger she-cat, a true force to be reckoned with. Her father, an orange tom, had been a bit more smaller, but he had been powerful as well. Crystal came from a powerful family, and when she had ran into Onyx she had noticed how strong he was. They had strong kits, amazing kits. Now only one was left and Onyx was gone. He had ran off with another tom of all things, but he hadn't gotten very far. Crystal had made sure of that. But she was getting off topic. She was here to tear this second Clan cat of the day to shreds.

A low growl could be heard coming from the she-cat. "I know you're out there," she hissed darkly, claws unsheathing into the damp ground. By now Crystal was sure of the apprentice's tactic - he was going to try and sneak up on her. While she couldn't get to his scent all that well, she was sure his scent would have moved along now if he were walking away from the camp, but instead it seemed as if he were staying in this particular area. A fighter born and bred Crystal knew how to figure out her opponent's ideas quite easily. Even in her older age she was still as sharp as a blade, and just as deadly.

Even though she knew the tomcat was out there she didn't know exactly when he would strike - if he would strike at all. If the young cat knew where she was when he would have the element of surprise. Crystal didn't know exactly where the tom was, but she had an idea as to where he could be. She felt as if he were only a few fox-lengths away, not even past the hedge of bushes that were so clear in her view. He was so close Crystal could probably just reach out and grab him...

Then something erupted from the bushes.

Crystal ducked out of instinct. With a hiss she rolled over and pushed herself back to her paws as quickly as she could, amber eyes narrowing maliciously. She was now face to face with a lynx Siamese tom, her fangs bared in aggression. He didn't look intimidating at all, especially with him looking like he was no older than nine or ten moons. This was going to be an easy win for her, almost too easy of a win really.
