Pippaw lightly shook his fur to get rid of the last remaining droplets lingering on his pelt before entering the den, and once he took a step in he was immediately overcome with the overbearing scents of mixed herbs. It certainly gave a warm, aromatic atmosphere in comparison to the chill of the morning that loomed outside.
Almost instantly being greeted by his mentor, he smiled. As someone with not a lot of friends, Mudfeather was the cat he was closest to. Her friendly demeanour had helped him quickly settle in to his new lifestyle when he had become an apprentice.
He nodded at her reply and rested the herbs at his paws to speak. "Y-Yes, Mudfeather. And I brought some nettles and peppermint to restock with," his gentle voice held a pitch of excitement, keen for his mentors approval and acceptance.
The restock was definitely needed, as the herbs quickly dried and shrivelled up in the summers blazing heat.

Leafgaze yowled as he felt the claws at his belly. He jumped back and lashed his tail, circling around before leaping at her again, this time, aiming a blow at the upper part of her cheek, near the ear. He could sense the anger bursting from her and he knew she wouldn't turn down as easily as he thought,

Despite everything that had happened as of late Pippaw brought much needed happiness back to Mudfeather. She had been excited to see that StarClan had offered her an apprentice, and she was still excited about training the young tomcat just like Hazelcloud had trained her all those seasons ago. She wanted to be the best mentor she could for Pippaw. He was learning fast and was a wonderful help around the den. Mudfeather at times even trusted him to tend to patients on his own. If the patient was too critical or something she would most certainly take over and help him out, but she trusted Pippaw's abilities to administer medicine and diagnose illnesses almost as good as she could herself.
Her smile grew warmer as the tom explained what he had been doing outside of the den - gathering herbs it seemed. Mudfeather nodded in approval. They needed some mint and nettle due to how vulnerable they were in the greenleaf heat that had been plaguing the Clan for some time now. It would a relief once the weather began to cool down.
"Great job, Pippaw," the medicine cat mewed with a chime to her voice. She stepped over to sniff at the herbs her apprentice had brought back, nodding in approval. "You can store them in their rightful spot. You did amazing," Mudfeather purred.

Crystal smirked when she heard the tomcat yowl. This only made her all the more eager to pin him down and make him beg for her mercy. She wanted to feel him struggle underneath her paws, wanted to look at him as terror flashed in his eyes. She wanted to show this Clan cat what a true rogue could do.
The she-cat was prepared as the tom leaped forward. She ducked just in time, his paw barely missing her. She snickered in triumph. "Too slow, kittypet," she mocked right as she pounced, aiming right for the Clan cat's face with her unsheathed claws.

i have to start getting ready for my sister's birthday party and i need to go get her present real quick too /wasn't able to get it until today hhh

By the end of her comment Pippaw seemed to shine, feeling a heat rise under his pelt.
"T-thank you, Mudfeather!" his voice was quiet as usual, but he beamed. He added another nod to note the end of his sentence, and picked the herbs back up, scuttling over to the large nook where a large array of herbs were kept.
The tom was so glad about his recent role in the clan. It was just as safe and warm as he remembered the kit den being, and being able to help and heal other cats instead of learn to injure them appealed to him a lot more.
Even if it meant giving up the option for a mate or kits, he didn't mind. He thought that if such a level headed, respectable cat like Mudfeather could do it, he could too.
Pippaw dragged out the old herbs and replaced them with the fresh and new, and turned back to Mudfeather. Before he took the old herbs to throw them away, he wondered if there was anything else his mentor wanted him to do.

As Crystal managed to claw at his chin, Leafgaze found himself flooding with anger at her comment this worthless rogue is calling ME a kittypet? He made his way out of the she-cat's grip and delivered a furious and strong bite to her shoulder. He spat out the fur remaining in his teeth and moving sideways, he scratched the side of her body.

Thistlestride nodded. "Yes, it shall be. I shall serve to the best of my abilities." He smiled at her, hesitating momentarily to observe her. "Redstorm will make an excellent deputy. I have the utmost of faith in her." She was a good friend of his, and he didn't doubt her in the slightest. "I heard there was a rattlesnake by the creek." He suddenly replied, hastening to catch up with her. When Appledew joined the pair, he dipped his head. "Care for a hunt?" A few heartbeats of silence passed between them, the pale ginger tabby looked around the camp to see who all was coming back from patrol and who was leaving. She liked knowing where others went, it made her feel a lot better if she knew her clan mates were leaving and where to. It was a strange habit of hers to always ask. She didn't think anything of it but others thought it was a little strange her asking where they were going. Turing back to the other warrior, she nodded at his question." Sure! I'd love to go on a walk with you," she purred softly as she got to her paws. "Where will we be walking to? I don't mind where we go," she mewed happily looking over at Galefoot. When a smile was shown to him, the warrior brightened a bit. He gave a light nod to her words, thanking the chance to glanced around camp. It seemed a patrol was returning unharmed, which was fantastic considering recent events. Looking back to Oatshine, he grinned a little at her answer. "Wonderful," Galefoot paused as she stood and followed up her answer with a question. He took a moments though, but answered with, "Let's just see where we end up for now." |

The purr that was rumbling in her throat grew louder at Pippaw's words. She adored the little tomcat. He was quiet, yes, but he was a skilled and quick-learner. Mudfeather was proud to be his mentor. She watched as he sorted out the herbs and placed them in their rightful niches. As he glanced back over to her, Mudfeather curled her tail upward. "Can you tell me what mint and nettle are for?" Pop quizzes such as this was just part of being a medicine cat apprentice. It was part of being even just a regular warrior's apprentice as well.

The rogue snickered under her breath at the tomcat. He was getting angry. Sure, she had rage boiling underneath her pelt too, but she prided herself in staying level-headed enough to keep her cool. Crystal clenched her teeth to hold back a yowl when the tomcat bit into her shoulder. Pushing through the pain Crystal managed to dodge his next blow and lashed out, leaping forward to jump on top of him.
