'It probably won't work on stubborn people.' Alex said, nodding at Burleigh. 'You should definitely at least learn some basic defence so you can defend yourself in a pinch.'

Burleigh shrugged. " I guess. All I know is that you make a fist and that's it, really." She shrugged, sipping her drink. Alex laughed. 'Not all the time.' She said, smiling at her. 'I can try and teach you if youd like.' She offered, brushing her hair behind her ear. 'I need a lot of improvement myself and have a lot to learn, but I can teach you what I already know.'

Burleigh nodded. " Ok. I'll definitely take you up on that. We can learn together, too, if you really want." She smiled softly at Alex. Alex grinned. 'I'd like that.' She pushed back her hair again, agitated at how messy and unruly it was; as wild as her own personality. 'Hey... you're good with fashion rubbish, right?' She asked, perking up. 'Can you teach me a better way of tying back my hair? I've snapped thousands upon thousands of bobbles trying to tie the damned nest up; and I can't for the life of me work out how to do plaits.' Frustrated, she coiled one of the springy curls around her little finger, before looking up helplessly at Burleigh.

Burleigh grinned widely. "Of course I can help!" She got up and walked around behind Alex. "Now, curly hair is nice, but it could be a hassle like you said. Normally, curly hair can be easy to work with when it's wet. Since your hair isn't wet right now, I may French braid it. French braids can be easier than plaits sometimes depending on the hair." She brushed her fingers through the mass of curls before starting on the braid. When she was done, she neatly tied it up with a ponytail holder. "I would suggest a headband for loose strands of hair because bobby pins don't always work with curls." She walked back to her seat, fishing out her mirror and flipping it open so that Alex could inspect her hair. Her eyes lit up and her cheeks flushed red when she saw it, before releasing an excited squeal. 'Oh my gods! I've never seen it so neat.' She breathed, examining it in the mirror. 'Thankyou so much!' She gushed, grinning widely. 'I'll buy some headbands for my fringe.' She promised, noddding. 'You'll have to teach me how you did that.'

Burleigh beamed with pride. "You're welcome, and thank you for complementing my work. Of course I'll teach you, we can start on dolls so that it's easy for me to instruct, and then progress from there. It looks hard, but once you learn it, it's really easy." 'Dolls?' Alex asked, tilting her head, the only thing coming to mind for the time being the little Barbie dolls she'd had as a kid. 'When I was little, I used to dip my dolls in glue and cut off all of their hair, or roll them in mud and cut up their dresses to make army uniforms.' She said, blinking, then frowning warily. 'I... I was a really messed up kid...' she shuddered at the thought of another child doing that. 'Yeesh.'

Burleigh was a little weirded out. " Yeah. I don't play with them. They're American Girl dolls my dad got for me when I was young. I just keep them with me. They're good to practice hairstyles on." She completely ignored what Alex had said. Alex appreciated the fact that Burleigh had ignored her strange revelation, and relaxed again at the second fact the Venus girl was still even speaking to her after it. 'American... girl?' Alex asked. 'You'll have to show me them; I'm sure what you mean.' She sheepishly replied. 'I wasn't very... girly when I was little. More sporty than anything. Much preferred spiking a ball over a net than playing with my hair.' She said, grinning widely. 'Which is probably why it's so unruly and wild.' She then frowned, glancing again at her curls; the hair itself seemed to depict the inner spirit of the girl.

Burleigh chuckled. " It's fine. They're actually pretty new to popularity. I'm surprised you haven't seen magazines or commercials. I was in between, really. I was into girly things, but not all the time. I liked to be active and do sports, but I wasn't really over the top wild about sports." She smoothed her shirt down. " One has to keep in shape even if their parent is the Goddess of Love." She smiled over at Alex. 'I'm a sucker for volleyball, dodgeball and netball.' Alex eagerly replied, practically bouncing in her seat. 'I was an amazing spiker in volleyball, and a great defence in netball.' She fell silent after her initial outburst, looking sad. 'I... I miss playing volleyball.' She looked down at her palm, suddenly aching for it to be red and in pain from hitting the ball hard.

Burleigh nodded. " I liked volleyball, softball, and soccer. I still play them from time to time, but it's not often since I've joined camp. That's normally how it goes." She shrugged nonchalantly. 'We need to make a volleyball group.' She said, narrowing her eyes. 'Some kind of after-training club.' Her eyes lit up, and she looked at Burleigh. 'Would that be allowed?' She eagerly asked, desperate to expend her energy on sports again.

Burleigh paused to think about it before nodding. “ I’m pretty sure that Jacob and Claire would agree to doing that. It helps us stay in shape, and it requires discipline while also letting us have fun. Having a team like Volleyball would also help us as a unit as we could mix the Cohorts within the teams.” She looked at Alex. “ That sound good?” A wide grin spread on the girls lips, her eyes shining with excitement. 'That sounds perfect!!! Shall we catch one of them later on and pitch the idea?' She asked, practically bouncing in her seat.

Elianna was sitting at the First Cohort table, reading a book as she ate like normal. Her blonde hair was pulled back in a braid that fell to her midback. She was so into her book that she was barely eating. She snapped out of it as something flew in between her face and her book, and she placed the book down and started to eat more. Found it. flamerune ]
