"I'm fine, I just didn't wanna be in there anymore." said Thomas, frowning in the direction of the gate room.
On the ceiling, there was a large, six-legged, scaly creature that resembled something between a crab, a spider, and a dinosaur. It had its clawed feet stuck firmly into the ice and was clinging tightly to it, upside down, clicking its massive fangs together.

Toby stared at the thing, impulsively holding his breath before realizing he'd just have to let it out louder. He tore his eyes away and scanned his surroundings, frantically looking for some kind of weapon.
"Why not?" Steven persisted curiously. "It's not that bad, when you think about it."

Unfortunately the icy prison was utterly devoid of anything useful - only a few icicles hung from the ceiling near the creature.
Ellie cast a wide-eyed look at Toby, utterly at a loss. "What do we do?" she mouthed, trying not to move. The creature continued its shuffling and odd clicking noises.
"Sure." said Thomas simply, trudging on ahead.

"Hey." Steven quickened his step, trying to get ahead of Thomas to stop him so they could talk. "What's the matter? You're acting all weird."
Toby shook his head frantically, sending little puffs of snow flying away from his black curls. If he could get an icicle, maybe he could bludgeon the thing to death, but from the way they were positioned that seemed almost impossible.

"I'm fine." said Thomas, crossing his arms. "I just...want to be alone for a while, okay? You should check on Sara."
Ellie started inching towards the wall closest to the hole in the ceiling, eyes glued to the creature. It shuffled its legs across the ice but didn't seem interested just yet.

Toby's eyes flit between the creature and Ellie, trying to keep them both in his sight at all times. Breathing hard, he glanced down and slid his numb hand over the ice, trying to find something to either fight the creature or help them climb out. A fallen icicle, perhaps? He blinked, the cold flakes getting caught in his long eyelashes.
Steven pursed his lips, a concerned expression appearing in his blue eyes. After a moment, he sighed in defeat. "Alright, if you're sure your okay. Don't go too far." He warned, turning back the way they'd come.

Thomas nodded. "'Kay." he agreed, heading off.
Ellie put a hand to the wall. The moment she did, the creature spun around, focused on her, and leapt. With a scream, Ellie threw herself to the side as the creature crashed into the wall, scrambling to regain its footing.

"Ellie." The cry escaped Toby's mouth before he could stop it, realizing a moment too late that he'd just made himself a target. Abandoning stealth, he rolled onto his side and scrambled to his feet, reaching upwards to try and break an icicle off the ceiling.
A moment later, Steven re-entered the bridge. "How's my sibling with the head issue doing?" He asked, glancing around for her.

"Oh, you know. Still standing." said Sarah, leaning heavily against the wall. "Where's Thomas?"
The creature spun around, shrieking at Toby. It leapt at him, fangs bared. Ellie scrambled up from the floor and ran towards it. "Look out!"

Toby swore under his breath as his fingernails scrabbled uselessly against the slick, strong surface. He dodged to the left, trying to get around the thing and find something else as the ground gave beneath his frantic steps, throwing him off balance.
"He said he wanted some alone time." Steven shrugged, though his expression was still one of concern. "I didn't want to bug him. Are Ellie and Toby back yet?"

"Not yet." said Sarah, frowning. "Wonder what's taking them so long?"
The creature crashed against the wall, shrieked, and scrambled back to its feet, claws catching effortlessly on the ice as it ran at Toby again. "DISTRACT IT!" Ellie shouted from the corner.

Distract it? Toby threw himself to the side, wondering blandly for a moment whether Ellie perhaps had some grudge against him that he didn't know about. His hands hit the snow as he slipped, almost immediately he scrambled to his feet and whipped around, his head grazing the icy wall behind him. "HURRY." He screamed, channeling all the terror pumping inside him into the single word.
Steven sighed, shaking his head. "We should probably go after them." He remarked regretfully, not at all wanting to go back through. "Make sure they're okay."
