This thread, like all the others for NobNov is structured the same with an "Advice" Column as well as a "How It Works" column where are miniature staff and I are listed with a forum to fill out if you would like some custom advice or mentoring. Hope you enjoy your time here and improve! Happy writing!
About
Description
So description is very simple when doing it right. My recommendation is, if you have a scene list the following down:
Now take those things and work with them, don't try to put all of them in there though, and it's okay if you can't think of that many things for each or if you think of more things then that for each. If you're overwhelmed with that many things identify what parts most important to the writing and scene, ask yourself what would the character focus on? Go from there.
Structure
All stories are composed of 6 main parts:
That's the order your run of the mill typical story goes. But don't think it has to be that way, you can change it up and put it in any order you want, in fact good writing tends to be out of order because it flows better and is unexpected. I highly recommend changing it up.

- 5 things your character can see
- 4 things your character can feel (this includes any emotions)
- 3 things your character can hear
- 2 things your character can smell
- 1 thing your character can taste

All stories are composed of 6 main parts:
- the introduction (who)
- the conflict (what)
- the backstory (when)
- the build up (where)
- the climax (why)
- the solution (how)
