I feel like I owe you guys a little snippet, so here it is! A piece of chapter 30.



I ran after Lionshadow’s tracks in the ash left behind by the destruction, my head lowered against the unforgiving winds whipping cinders into my eyes. The smoke was thick and it tickled my throat. It didn’t burn my exposed flesh, and I could still breathe normally, but it didn’t help my line of sight as I maneuvered out of the TundraClan camp and crested the hill that looked down onto the tundra.

The entire plain was turned dark from the rising smoke, but thankfully I still managed to pick out his outline against the greenery and patches of melting snow.

“Lionshadow!” I shouted loudly, watching as his ears twitched at the noise. He slowly turned and looked up at me, the flames and smoke still rising behind me.

He didn’t speak and he didn’t move, not even the air disturbed his fur, his evergreen eyes glowing as hotly as the embers I had just walked through.

I suddenly felt afraid. Maybe not afraid, but anxious. I could feel I was on a great precipice, that anything I did here and with him could alter fates decided long ago. There was so much yet that I didn’t understand about my curse or about this disturbed tom in front of me. All I knew for sure, was that he was responsible for the deaths of many, and for the suffering of my family. He had given us this curse. The reason why may matter, but with everything that had occurred it felt insignificant.

All that mattered was stopping him, or at least halting his progress. I had to give my daughter a chance if I could not break this curse myself. More than anything, I wanted to be the last in this long line of unhappy stories.

Its pretty sucky, lol. I have to have it elevated a ton, but I apparently had it broken for over a year, the doctors having told me it was sprained. The surgery hopefully fixed it, but we'll see.

Thanks! XD, today has definitely been the hardest, numbing medicine wore off so I can really feel it, which means I've been on a lot of painkillers, and I can't do any homework because I can barely type or do anything coherently with my left side especially because I'm right handed and my right side is more attuned.

I'm doing okay.

That sounds like an awesome place to go to college, then. Ah your passion definitely shows through in Curse cx

So I have been working on the human version of the CotV world, and man, it's been pretty fun so far. GlacierClan is the first of the four I am converting since my short story "A Tale of Snow" is being written with human characters and features GlacierClan first. The rouges of course are the main group in the story, but Snow was born in GlacierClan as we have all come to suspect/know.

GlacierClan in the human version will become the clan of Maris. The Maris clansmen all claim descent or ties to Stella Maris, the first chieftain who founded the clan. Their specialized trade is fish, ornaments (like jewelry, decorative pots and such; basically the delicate refined trinkets), birch wood, and ice during the summer months. This is just rough ideas so far.

Spottedmoon from "Dark Side of the Moon" and "Curse" will have the human name Neveria Frostborn.
Snow will stay as Snow, but have the added "Frostborn" to her name.
The leader of the Maris clan while Neveria/Spottedmoon is deputy is a man named Drevor Maris.
His son, who befriends Snow, is Malik Maris.
**The Maris descendants haven't always been the chieftains, there are times where another family or cousin family takes over until another proven Maris clansmen can re-take the leadership.

That's just a few basic things, but I wanted to share that little bit to keep you all in the loop. (':

As for Chapter 30, I want to get it done and off my plate ASAP. I hope this week I can get myself to slap on the finishing touches and let it go. It's been hanging over me for quite some time, and the forums needs to see Curse back on it's feet just as much as I do.
