Lol. I like to study other characters who are in similar situations to mine and see what they do in contrast to my character. How does the author/director/poet handle the characterization at this point? What about the outcome? Does it match up with the message or point they are trying to get across? Am I doing my character justice?
"My soul is as ready to escape as my body."
"Fear, is why you fell."
"No, I'm not afraid. I'm angry."
"You do not fear death. You think this makes you strong. But it makes you weak."
"Why?"
"How can you move faster than possible, fight longer than possible, without the strongest impulse of the spirit? The fear of death."
"I do fear death. I fear dying in here while my city burns."
"Then make the climb."
"..."
"Go without the rope. Maybe fear will find you again."
It's such powerful dialogue, and this idea that it is fear that can make you stronger...well it inspired me a long time ago when planning out a certain character.

I have to say, that is one of my favourite scenes in that entire trilogy. The idea that fear - and not just fear for yourself, but fear for the ones you have to protect - can motivate just as well as hope has always been an intriguing concept.
The determination of the human brain never fails to amaze me.

No, actually. o.o' Dang I just realized that connection haha.
It was actually inspired by a wonderful friend of mind who broke his spine. I asked him about the pain of it, and what it felt like, and what he saw...I used all of that for Shadowface's injury, though hers healed much faster than his did so I had to play with that on my own. He is ok now. Pretty much a full recovery though sometimes he has muscle spasms.

It is very interesting. I'm still going to work on some drafts of mine, but I'm staying away from Curse writing at least until I get a fully functioning brain back. >.<' I can't believe I got a virus for Spring Break. I guess I deserve it (if you believe in karma) but JEEZ RIGHT NOW?
I might just post Chapter 18 & 19 tomorrow to at least hold up my promises of re-uploading old chapters.
I took a peek at chapter 18 and it's a mess. Very sloppy and wince-inducing writing. I'll be fixing that.

It's honestly a bit scary, because after this I'll be using it to make Draft #2 and get going on the Human Version. Not to mention that I will be uploading all of Curse to Fan Fiction.net too. I hope the audience there will be helpful in finding more kinks and places in the story that need fixing. I was also thinking of uploading Draft #2 to Fiction.net (fanfiction.net's sister site) to get more exposure and feedback. I was thinking of doing Blog posts documenting my progress on Draft #2 as well. It might be fun! |

Chapter 37 is going to be long guys. Very long.
I'll be posting a sneak peek sometime soon. I have a big exam tomorrow and I need to get caught up on some reading/writing assignments, plus I'm still recovering from being sick...*cries*
So my plan is to find a day sometime later this week or next week to just focus on Chapter 37. (I don't have any classes Thursdays so I'm thinking this Thursday or next will be the drop date for content).
Don't hold me to anything, but please know that I am working on it in bits and pieces and it WILL get done ASAP!!

Oh and as for re-posts of old chapters, I am HARD STUCK on chapter 18 because it is MESSY. I think I wasn't totally focused when I wrote this, lol. I might do a full overhaul and remove some scenes because it's just...wow. NOPE. NO THANK YOU. But this means new updated material will be added to replace the old! SO YAY!
I can upload other chapters but I WAS trying to go in order for my fellow readers who have been waiting very patiently for these re-uploads. I will definitely come to a decision this Thursday on that.
Thank you all so much for your patience and well-wishes and comments, ect. It really does mean so much to me.
Hopefully one of these days I will have a published book dedicated to you all on the market. <3
