Shadow, I am deeply intrigued by this website 'weheartit'. I searched it cause of your status and I was curious. Beautiful pictures, by the way!
What did you think besides "ooh beautiful?"
Well, I love how well you were able to capture the mood of Curse. The images did an excellent job of setting the scene. I feel like I now know exactly what to expect worldbuilding-wise from the humanised novel (especially with the costumes) and the landscapes were both beautiful and haunting. It was awesome to look at! |

Did you recognize any of the main characters? I only threw a couple in there so far since some of the others are harder to find. Hadiya has a full body one (I'm pretty sure this is what she will look like. The asian/dark hair look suits her) where she's standing in front of an army wearing gold armor and red cloth. I actually might have more than one. Both Hadiya and Darkmoon (Critza) will share the red cloth theme in their dress.
And I got a face shot of Eaglefrost (Ethuran) and Lionshadow (???).
Did you get a look at the Forest of Kalmera one? There is a repeating woman in it. She's got black hair, white skin, and is usually dressed in assassins clothing with lots of blades. I haven't named her yet, but she's the third character I've started to form for the series. She's an assassin (duh) and also a Beast Caller. She can summon animals to do her bidding basically.

Yep, I spotted Eagke and Lionshadow! They both look awesome (and almost exactly how I pictured them!) I haven't looked at the Forest's collection yet, but I will!
I'm really tempted to join and start my own collections for my various worlds now XD

Eaglefrost (Ethuran) is gonna be a little native american in his looks with lighter brown hair while Lionshadow will sport the typical "I'm super pale because I live in a cold mountainous region and was never lucky enough to have tan parents" LOL
You should totally check it out. It's a whole lot different from The Clans of the Valley world. It's much more "Epic Fantasy" than CotV's "Sci-Fi/Curse magic whatever you want to call it".
You should do it! It's free, and you never have to look at comments because you can only heart other images. There is also a mature filter you can set which will keep all the "scandalous" images from your feed.
I'm in love with it, honestly. It's helped me a lot with getting fresh ideas or helping me imagine something I'm having trouble describing. There's more than that, obviously. :'P

Shadz! Okay, so my grandparents were watching this movie last night, right? And I was a little curious, so I looked at a little bit of it. And then I thought: Omg, this reminds a little of humanized Curse... I asked them what they were watching and they said it was a movie called "The Last Legion".
For some reason, I was just inspired by that little snippet; the actors' clothing, the landscape, everything reminded me of Curse, minus the fantasy element. The movie is actually set in Rome, interestingly. I just know there are more movies that could be related to the idea of humanized Curse, but I can't put my finger on them... ;u;
Anywho, I just wanted to share that random idea with you. I take inspiration from movies, since I'm very visual.
EDIT;; Also, I was messing around on Google and I found these BEAUTIFUL pictures of women who looked a lot like Human!Jadefox. I also found pictures of Ethuran, Snow, and Itzala's father (I seem to have forgotten his name), too!

Alright, so here are the pictures I found this morning.
Just a heads up: They're not...immensely accurate. These are just the ones I found that best fit. I think they are just utterly lovely, and I hope they inspire you all!
I think these are the same person cosplaying. Jade has red hair, if I'm - hopefully - not mistaken?
But these pictures are legit...the best. She even has the fox boa. :''D

The Last Legion? I'll have to check that out. I love historical/fantasy movies. I like the era's before modernization and industrialization. Swords and kings and queens and large scale battles just sound so much more amazing than what we have today. It's probably the reason why I chose Curse to be represented by Viking and Celtic cultures.
Hmmm, I don't know movie names off the top of my head, but I know some TV shows like Game of Thrones, The Last Kingdom, and Marco Polo all have that kind of feel. I've taken a lot of inspiration from them. Though the Last Kingdom I have yet to finish.

Ohh, I've heard a lot about Game of Thrones... I might try watching it! From what I've seen, it looks very nice. It just might give me the motivation to go back to drawing Curse art.

Not much Just polishing up some one-shots before posting them. I did go out to the Olympic park here yesterday to watch the tennis though, so that was awesome, since I got to watch some of my favourite players. It was really hot, but it was worth it XD What about you guys? |
