"You know those old "horror" movies with awful effects?" Jasper asked and grinned, "I love them, especially Little Shop of Horrors." Two of his favorite things in the world were bad movies and horror stories. Put them together, and the resulting lovechild would be irresistible. - "Huh?" Anya asked. How could he tell? Was he Sherlock Holmes or something, "I just moved into the city," she offered, "we arrived from Iowa not too long ago. How'd you tell?" She'd thought she'd been blending in pretty good. Which probably meant that she hadn't, but still. ----------- Skylar laughed a little, rubbing her neck as she listened. "We can watch some if you'd like. Do you like pizza? Because we could watch these 'horror' movies and eat a bunch of pizza." She suggested, folding her legs onto the chair as well. - No, he was not Sherlock Holmes. He just knew both sides of it. "It's weird. I've moved around a lot so I know the kind of confused look that newbies have. " Kyle explained. "And I've lived here for a few years, so it makes it easier to figure out if somebody is new I guess..." He trailed off, looking around for a second before down at his watch. "So, uh. Welcome to the city?"

OOC: Great, any specific genres/fandoms you wanna rp?
BIC: "I love pizza," Jasper said excitedly, "and I'd love doing that at some point." The idea of having someone to be a horror nerd with made him feel giddy. He hadn't had someone for that since Liz, "Troll 2 is a must," he promised, "Blood for Dracula is too. I'll find the best ones I got," and he had a lot, "don't worry."
-
"Oh." That made sense, actually. "Thank you!" She offered him her hand, "I'm Anya. I'm glad there's someone friendly." People in the city just seemed so busy to her, not having any time for being neighborly like everyone was back home in that tiny town.

Skylar couldn't help but laugh at his excitement, a warm smile pulling at her lips. "Alright, fantastic. Any day works for me, since I've got no where to be. So whatever works for you." She said, resting her chin in her open palm.
- I'm glad there's someone friendly. Kylar almost started laughing at that. The days he was nice were rather rare. Today he was in a good mood, but then again, he knew he could get high later, so that was probably the source of his good mood. "I'm Kyle. It's nice to meet you." He responded, pausing a moment before taking her hand and giving it a brief shake before letting go and letting his arm fall back to his side. "I, uh. If you need help with anything I might be able to provide an answer."

OOC: Alright. I personally tend to shy away from supernatural, as I've never played it succssfully before. But I'd be willing to try it if you want.
Of course, I'll probably be going to bed soon, depending on if I can find fire emblem or not. If I can, Ima be irresponsible and play it a while.
Otherwise, I really like medieval fantasy or modern slice-of-life stuff, if you have any plots. If not, we can always look on Tumblr. There's loads there.
BIC: "You already know I don't leave the house." Jasper pointed out, "so why wait? Tonight feels like it could be spooky enough." He already couldn't wait.
-
Kyle, don't laugh at the poor naive country girl. "Yes, actually!" Anya said, "I don't know where my apartment building is. Since you seem like you know the city, would you mind helping me? It's not too much trouble if you don't have the time." She striaghtened, hopefully looking up at him. She could really use some help. Seeing as the only thing she really knew was that it was across from a Taco Bell and was on a street with a number in its name.

"True. But still. I wasn't sure if you had something you had to do. Pizza sounds amazing tonight." She said, readjusting one of her socks before she got to her feet and stretched her arms over her head. "Anyway. I should probably clean or make myself useful or something."
- "Sure. That doesn't sound too hard. What's the name of the building?" He asked curiously. And if he didn't know where it was he could just google the name. "And don't worry. I've got plenty of time. I don't do much." Unless it was sneaking into clubs and bars, meeting people in shady alleys, or standing on the train tracks until there was barely any time to move. Yes, those were pretty much all of his hobbies. He had kind of given up on his whole music thing awhile ago. What was the point? He'd be dead in a few years anyway.

I mean if you feel comfortable doing supernatural natural stuff then we can do that. Or we can do slice of life stuff, because I'm not that good with medieval fantasy type stuff.
Tbh, I don't really have any plots in mind so we might have to look some up.

"Alright," Jasper said. It was what she was here for, after all. He stood as well, planning to head to the exercise room. Learning to fight this morning had woken him up pretty thoroughly, and he was actually sort of looking forward to continue moving. "My room's a mess right now, and did you clean up from breakfast?"
-
"Buildings have names?" Anya asked. She had been under the impression that the only named buildings were things like Walmart or Hillsview Hospital. She was glad he had a lot of time, since she'd probaby be wasting a lot of it looking for the building.
OOC: Okay, would you like to do that? Or you want me to find a neat one?

"I did clean up from breakfast. I'll get started on your room though." Skylar replied, redoing her hair one last time into a bun before straightening her shirt a bit and starting towards that room of the house. "Is there anything else you need before I get started?"
- Kyle's eyes widened just a little bit. "Uhm, yeah. There's a lot of different apartment complexes... They're bound to have names. But fine, we can figure this out. What street is it on?" He questioned.

"Nope, not that I can think of." Jasper said, watching her go before turning away after she left. Okay, what had she taught him about self-defense? He couldn't really remember, and it hadn't even been fifteen minutes. He'd been hopeless at it anyway.
Youtube. Youtube would help.
-
"Something with a number." Anya thought hard, putting her hand to her chin, "it ended with a three if that helps." She looked up at Kyle sheepishly, "I'm not being very helpful right now, am I?"

Aw Jasper.
Skylar just kind of went upstairs to get to work, managing to somehow spin cleaning into something fun. So most of the time she spend singing and dancing like the person she actually was. Just a soft mushy marshmallow, actually. Well, before she had turned into a thief.
- Kyle's face looked pale as he looked down at her. "Oh my... Are you kidding? Please tell me you're kidding." He said with something like a nervous laugh. "Pretty much all of the streets have numbers. The three does kind of help, but still."

Jasper spent the afternoon watching crappy self-defense youtube videos and roundhouse kicking nothing. It was actually pretty fun. It wouldn't help him at all in a real fight, but he didn't know that.
OOC: Shall we do some sort of time skip?
Anya took a deep breath, opened her mouth, and, "no." She wasn't, "I didn't go too far, um," she turned around and headed towards the end of the street, "I turned left onto this street, and I kept on going straight for a while before that. And I turned left before going straight a bunch. I don't think I turned three times, but I dunno."

Yeah I think so. Any ideas?)

OOC: Hm.. Either till tonight, or once her dad makes another run at the house.
BIC: "Thank you so much, you're a huge help." She said, "I'm Anya, by the way." She smiled at him, "and I'll make sure to do that." She was pretty distracted, looking around at the pretty buildings and everything.

Hm, I'm thinking to when her dad shows up again.)
Skylar hadn't been sleeping at night. No, she sat up in the living room with a knife stashed under the couch where it would be easy to grab. She kept on loose fitting clothes so she could move easier, and had her hair tied up into a tight bun. The last thing she needed was to have her hair used against her too. She was running on almost no sleep for the past week, just enough that she wouldn't start passing out or hallucinating. Coffee had really helped her stay awake. Her eyes had just started to drift close at about midnight when she heard something outside.
"Yeah, no problem. I'm Kyle, nice to meet you Anya." He said, hands by his side as he walked, looking around and once in awhile asking if she remembered where she turned.

OOC: *coughs* I'm a horrible person
I'm gonna respond to first one real quick so I can get something up before working on second one.
BIC: Jasper was up and about too, by no fault of his own. He'd spent a lot of the night holed up in his room, passing the time with various nicknacks and podcasts(like he did far too often) since he could tell that sleeping would be super hard that night. He was getting some uneasy feelings as well. Maybe it was the noises outside: the cold wind buffetting the house and making the trees shake.
Maybe if he went for a quick walk around the house...Jasper left his room behind and headed downstairs, enjoying the dark and quiet. He knew his way around well enough to not stub his toe on any tables. He ended up stumbling over the carpet anyway. It was the carpet's fault.
OOC: Also, if we finish up this plot point in time, you wanna do a Christmas/New Years thing?

it's okay! How are you? And yes, a christmas thing would be great!
Skylar got to her feet and crept towards the window, startled by the sound of Jasper. She wanted to tell him to go away, but the porch light flickering on caught her attention. While the motion sensor could have just been tripped by a raccoon, she highly doubted it.
She looked back over her shoulder towards the kitchen to check on Jasper, and in that moment she heard the door swing open. She hadn't expected much stealth from her father tonight, but the lack of effort to stay hidden astounded her.

OOC: I'm pretty good. Haven't been doing much.
BIC: Jasper "hmm'd?" in surprise, looking up as the light turned on. What was Sky-Sweet Jesus Christ he was back!
Jasper shrugged out of his bathrobe, and actually ran towards the door and towards danger. He would be proud of himself if it wasn't so terrifying and adrenaline wasn't pouring through him. At least Skylar was here. That made him feel a bit safer.

That's nice. Also did you want Jasper to get hurt at all?)
Skylar opened her mouth to protest as Jasper ran towards the door. No, no, no. That wasn't the plan. He was supposed to be upstairs where it was safe and calling the cops! What was he thinking?! "Jasper! Stay back," she shouted.
Jack turned his gaze towards Skye, frowning at her before turning his focus back to the boy running towards him. It took no thought or effort for him to draw his arm back to ready himself for a punch.

OOC: Theatre is pretty great.
Also. Angst. Just...a bunch of angst.
BIC: Jasper skidded to a stop. Okay. He'd forgotten their plan, to be honest. Probably had to do with moving two sites since they'd decided what they'd be doing when this happened. He tried to scramble back but wow, this guy was close oh god he regret this so much.

Angst is amazing.
Skylar started shouting again when jacks fist collided with Jasper's face. She went into auto pilot after that, rushing forward and wedging herself between the two males. Jack hesitated for a brief moment. Did he really want to hurt his daughter?
He had to. If she wanted to get out of this life, she could easily turn him in. She knew his name, his face. And so did Jasper. They both had to be taken out of the picture. So he brought his arm back for another punch, the only reason why Skye didn't move out of the way is she wasn't sure where Jasper was and she didn't plan on letting him get hit again.

"AH." Jasper recoiled with the punch, clutching his face. Owowowowow. He bit back a whimper, backing away from the fight to better get his bearings. He could see Skylar and her father, and was about to intervene again when he remembered a bit of their plane.
Phone! Call the police! Yes! He scrambled around in his pockets and realized in horror that he'd left it upstairs. Oh god oh no.

Skylar stumbled when she got hit. She hit an end table with her leg, flinching at the stinging sensation. It's not like that was the first time she'd been punched before, and while it did hurt, she recovered quickly. The blonde ducked before the next one could land. While her father was strong, he was slow. And while she didn't have as much brute force, she was quick and flexible. She could use his own tactics against him.
When she was back to standing straight, she glanced towards Jasper briefly and backed up, putting on a false expression of fear. When he went to punch her again, she dropped to the ground and slid past the older person, barely noticing the sound of his fist going through the wall. "Jasper, go!"

Oh god his poor wall.
That wasn't important. Right! Run! Call the cops! Running for his life was something that came a bit too naturally to Jasper, and he sprinted up the stairs to grab his phone. As he dialed, he ran back down. He didn't want to leave Skylar alone too long. He wanted to be there, just in case. Even if he couldn't really do much.
"911, what is your emergency?" The operator was a pleasant, calm-sounding woman.
"Yeah, hi," talking on the phone stressed Jasper out, "my friend's dad's trying to kill us!"

By the time he had gotten back down, things had gotten worse. Skye had made the mistake of grabbing his wrist, and she was pretty sure he had broken her wrist. Whatever. Despite being so delicate looking, she seemed to be really good fighter. She squeaked when she hit the floor, but after lashing out a kick towards him, she scrambled towards the couch, knowing that he was armed. She had seen it. She turned around empty handed, having kicked the knife under too far. At least her rolling over had let her avoid the whole being stabbed thing, since there was now a switch blade sticking out of the floor.

"Stay calm sir, what is your address?"
Oh no, oh no. Jasper has not signed up for this. What would he be able to do? He was completely useless in this sort of situation.
He gave the operator the address Sherk didn't want to make up, "hold on..." He said, dropping the phone.
He was useless as a fighter. Oh well. He could make a pretty good distraction, probably. Jasper ran into the fight, throwing a punch at Jack, caution completely thrown to the wind.

That gave Skye enough time to get to her feet and jump onto jacks back, wrapping herself around his waist and neck to get him off of Jasper. Sure she kind of got slammed into the wall, but it was fine. She was fine.
"Get out of the way, Jasper. " skylar said as she let go of his neck. She didn't want to risk him getting hurt. If he was closer she wouldn't fight quite as recklessly.
