Crestpaw flicked his tail. "Does it have fish or something?" He scrunched his nose slightly.

Crestpaw said unenthusiastically,"Fun..." He flicked his tail and watched the lake get closer and closer.

Crestpaw shrugged. "I like fish. I can't stand the smell, and I can't eat it every meal."

Crestpaw nodded. "Yeah. I suppose so." He padded along the river before stopping and lapping up some water.

Crestpaw scrunched his nose as a fish swam right under his tongue. He sat up, licking the excess water from around his mouth. He said sarcastically,"Thanks for the heads up."

Crestpaw licked his paw and watched the water move.

Crestpaw flicked his tail. "Are we hunting now?"

Crestpaw nodded. He crouched down next to the river and patiently waited for a flash of silver underneath him. He saw the flash of silver and whisked the fish out of the river and onto the grass next to him. The young apprentice bit where the neck would be and crushed the veins there, making the fish die in seconds. He let the fish loose and licked the blood off of his mouth and teeth.

Crestpaw smiled softly. "Loner life does have its perks. I had to learn to hunt. It may not be Clanesque, but it works."

Crestpaw chuckled. "If anything, I suppose that puts me ahead of most new apprentices, yeah?" He looked at Shellheart questioningly.

Crestpaw shrugged. "I mean I'm still young, too."

Crestpaw shrugged. "I suppose so. Although I haven't hunted in a moon or two since I joined the Clan."

Crestpaw chuckled. "Love what? Hunting or apprenticeship?"

Crestpaw nodded. "I-I think I will, surprisingly. I'm pretty bad at fighting."
