It isn't a winner take all system. Let's say for example Hillary gets the most popular votes in one state, and Trump gets a little less than her. In that case Hillary gets points for winning that state. The people who voted Trump would technically have their vote wasted since he doesn't get anything out of winning. Maine and Nebraska splits their points among the candidates, in which imo is a better way of going about doing it. Heres a link if I wasn't clear enough: www.270towin.com/content/split-electoral-votes-maine-and-nebraskaOh wow that actually sounds like a good thing to me why doesn't every state do that?

Okay guys, take a few deep breathes. I know y'all are concerned about Trump/Pence radically changing the current laws regarding LGBT rights and such, but it's much more complicated than y'all realize. If they do try and change such things, it will be a long, drawn-out process than requires large cooperation from Congress and the SCOTUS.
Ohio has flipped as well. Word of advice: if you want accurate predictions, check out which precincts are reporting in a state. Cities almost always go blue, while country counties go red. Seeing whether or not city counties have reported can tell you a lot about how much the current poll will change.

I really thought Hillary was going to do better They haven't gotten to the western states yet like California (with 55 electoral votes) so that should hopefully help her

I agree with Saint Ambrosefeven if Trump won, there's no way he'd be able to change that.

I'm curious to see how Utah goes, seeing how McMullin is such a big component there.
Virginia seems to be surprising people, since it's gone red and will likely stay that way. Florida and North Carolina are likely going to Trump. Ohio and Michigan are both flipping. Pennsylvania is almost certainly blue.
I predict that New Hampshire is going to be closer than people expect, as will Colorado.

When did Michigan go red? Trump was down by a lot there last time I checked. They were only reporting Detroit and a smattering of other counties at that time, so naturally is leans blue. Now the country counties are coming in.

This is going to be a very tight election.
Since I hate both candidates equally, no matter the outcome I will be miserable. So I'm trying to ignore my misery and view this as an educational analysis opportunity since I want to go into law/politics
