(It's the only DC I've ever read. Basically the Joker tricks Superman into killing Lois, who is pregnant, which sets off a nuke in Metropolis. He goes off the deep end, murders Joker, and then gradually becomes a despot in the name of the greater good. He's stopped all war, transitioned to green energy and such, but he's ruling with an iron fist. Most of the Justice League is behind him, but Batman and most of the bat-family is leading a resistance. Working on a reply now.)

Quill had done it. He'd pulled the trigger. Thanos had to have some respect for that. After all, the greatest sacrifices require the strongest wills, and this human deserved to know that some small action of his was worthy of the Mad Titan's admiration. He wouldn't allow it to succeed, of course; with a red pulse, the deadly blast was transmuted to a few harmless bubbles, gently floating away. "I like you," he murmured, before the stone on his hand pulsed blue, and a roiling black cloud surrounded him and Gamora, returning them to his ship.

Gamora had fully expected the blast to come, to put an end to Thanos's schemes, to save the universe. But it didn't. All that came from Peter's blaster was a handful of bubbles, and she could see the flash of red coming from Thanos's gauntlet-clad fist beside her. The Reality Stone. Of course he would use that to stop Peter. She should've known. No! she thought, attempting to struggle out of her so-called father's grasp. But it was no use. With a cloud of black and blue, Peter and Knowhere were gone, and Thanos had taken her for her information. The very last thing she'd hoped would happen. NO!

(I say that when we're done with the Infinity War plot, we can just rp however we want to, you know? I mean, of course we'll have to keep in mind the events of Infinity War & such, but we can just rp it how we want to and see where that takes us xD)

It all happened so fast. The blaster's beam turned into bubbles in a blink of an eye and then Thanos's ugly grin as he grabbed Gamora was the last thing he saw. Peter should have felt somewhat relieved that Gamora was alive, at least, that his pulling the trigger hadn't killed her. But now that she was gone, they were all dead, weren't they? Thanos was going to get what he needed to succeed because Peter had failed. Failed to keep from him the information that separated him from destroying the rest of the world. Peter felt the tears continue to swell in his eyes. But she was alive...! He tried to swallow back the pain and straightened his posture, shoving the stupid blaster back into his belt. If Gamora was still out there, he couldn't wallow in his own grief. He had to find Thanos and stop him so that he could find Gamora and bring her home. He slowly turned around in the direction of his ship. "Gamora is gone," he muttered to himself. "Get it together, Peter." Because we don't know for how long.

Gamora:
Thanos had taken Gamora back to his ship. Dark and impossibly large, it was a hub for all of his Q-Ships and Necrocraft and everyone who was twisted enough to follow him. He called it Sanctuary II. As if having an entire domain of space with the same name wasn't enough.
Gamora was sitting in the ship's center, a vast, circular room obscured by mist for dramatic effect. And, standing tall in its middle was Thanos' extravagant, stone throne. One fit for the judge of the universe.
It disgusted Gamora. Thanos could say he was trying to help however much he liked, but this room was just one of the many reasons she would never believe him.
