Peter watched the whole ordeal with an open mouth. He wanted to rush forward, but his body was frozen in place and all he could do was watch.
Cap:
Steve listened to Loki's story in silence, nodding every so often to show that he hadn't dozed off. When the god finally finished speaking, it was a lot of information to take in. He took a moment to sort everything in his mind and fit it all into his own timeline and then said, "Well, it seems like you really are the god of mischief and trickery. You have been on both sides of the war in many instances. The only question remains is: what side will you be on now?" Although it had already been established that Loki wasn't really a fan of Thanos after what had happened and that he was here to warn them, Steve still wondered if the god would change his mind if the payment was better on the other side. He needed confirmation. Wanted to hear Loki say it. Say that he was on their side for good.
Bucky:
Bucky watched Viktor in silence as he spoke to Alyona, his eyes following both of their movements. When the mutant stepped away, Bucky frowned. "You sure you're okay?" he asked her, noting the dried up wounds. There was nothing they could do about it now, but he still felt a responsibility to ask. "Why don't you try to sleep the rest of the way? I'm sure we're almost there, but being awake probably isn't helping with the pain or healing." He then turned to Borya, seeing the man's finger pointed in his direction and narrowed his eyes. He'd done what was necessary, he told himself. Done what was necessary.
Logan:
Logan shrugged. "I've heard a good deal," he said to Borya. "Not everything, but enough. I know things have been hard, but... we're all here now, so I guess the past is the past." After living for so long, sometimes it helped to remind himself not to open up old wounds. It didn't mean that they were gone. It just didn't help to bring it up.

Loki stared at Captain Rogers for a few moments before he spoke. “...you did hear the part about Thanos murdering me, correct? Look, I’m trying to do the ‘right thing’ here. What’s that saying of yours... ‘don’t look a gift horse in the mouth,’ I believe? I’m here for now, and you have a bigger problem to worry about than the sincerity of my altruism.” He was, in fact, on their side, but these questions were beginning to be irksome.
“God, Logan, you’re such a drag,” Mystique said, laying on her back, casually flipping a knife in the air and catching it to pass the time. “‘Oh, life’s so terrible, I’ve murdered everything I love, boo hoo hoo.’ Things suck sometimes. Get over it.”

When Thanos' body dissolved in front of her, Gamora stumbled back in shock. She watched with wide eyes as her surroundings changed, first dark and empty, then crumbling and ablaze. Thanos was standing in front of her again, and she could see that he was alive and well, and already had the stone. Everything that had just happened was an illusion. It was all a trick. Thanos had already won. A shiver of dread crept slowly up Gamora's spine like the fire devouring Knowhere around her. What could be done now? Thanos knew she and the others were there; they couldn't just leave now. Thanos would never allow it. They would have to fight their way out, but she was not optimistic about how it might turn out. |

He tapped his foot impatiently on the floor of the jet, hands on his hips. He didn't like Loki using his own words against him... or even that they would be working together. Still, he said, "Yeah, and I also heard the part where you betrayed your family multiple times. Somehow I'm not convinced that you won't run back to him if the offer suites you enough. But, forget I said anything. If we're going to defeat him, we're going to need you." He let out a breath and stuck out his hand. "Truce? For the time being?"
Logan:
Logan's eyes flashed in Mystique's direction and a low growl rumbled in his throat, but he didn't even have any words to defend himself. He and Mystique were different, and he didn't want to start another petty fight before the real one began.
Quill:
Peter continued to watch in silence, holding his breath as he watched her fight Thanos. He wanted to scream that none of it was real, tell her not to trust that father of hers, but somehow he knew she wouldn't listen. No matter how much she hated her father, she also seemed to love him... so much that she would either kill him or try to save him from himself. And when attempted to stab him again, Peter could tell this wasn't going to end well for any of them. He slowly began to creep forward, hand moving towards his belt.

Loki took the proffered hand and shook it. “Truce, Captain. I suppose that’s the most I can expect for now.” He would have seemed sincere to anybody that didn’t know him, but unfortunately for this new attempt at making the Avengers trust him, he was EXCEEDINGLY good at subterfuge and misdirection, and they knew it.
Off to the side, Mystique let out a gentle chuckle at having elicited a response from Logan. “Aw, are wittle Wolvie’s feewings hurt?” Sitting up, she waved a hand at Quake. “Get me a bottle of champagne, would you?”
Daisy crossed her arms. “Absolutely not.”
Mystique sighed, getting up. “Must I do everything myself?”
Thanos easily parried Gamora’s blow, turning her around and grabbing her by the neck. “I must say, this is... disappointing,” he rumbled. Glancing up, he saw the approaching form of Peter Quill. “Who have we here?”

Gamora struggled in Thanos's grasp, but she couldn't break free. He was too strong. Panic began to cloud her senses, knowing that if she couldn't escape, Thanos would take her with him for her information. She couldn't let him find out. The Soul Stone was the last Infinity Stone Thanos didn't know the whereabouts of, and if he managed to collect the rest of them as easily as he had the Reality Stone... her secret might just be half the universe's downfall.
Gamora looked up to see Peter nearby, inching toward them with his blaster at the ready, and she was reminded the promise he had made her. He was her last hope. The only thing who could keep Thanos from getting what he wanted. She hoped to show her desperation, her plead for him to help her, just in her eyes, remembering all the times when he could tell how she was feeling just by her expression. Because, not only did she not want to give away to Thanos the plan they had made, but she wasn't sure she would be able to ask him again even if she tried.
