( XD Sadly, that turned into a dead end as soon as Tony shouted at her. Sorry. Gotta stay in character ...)
Looking like a deer in headlights as soon as Tony raised his voice at her, Eveline's hand dropped back to her side. Tom wanted to bristle ... but he was conflicted on whether he should be annoyed at Tony or Eveline. Either way, it seemed like Eveline had been cowed into silence. She even looked a bit paler. She hadn't been planning to say anything about Tony. But once again, any possible help from her was gone as she shook her head slowly. She wasn't going to help when it was clear she wasn't wanted. "Nothing," she muttered. Then she turned, heading for the door and away from all of this. Tom decided that he did want to be annoyed. He settled on being annoyed with Tony, since Eveline was leaving. "One day," he said chilly. "You're going to find out that for Eveline at least, she only speaks out when she has something important to say. By the time you actually care to hear it, it will probably be too late." His eyes flicked to Steve. Tom wanted to continue to verbally knock some sense into Tony, but he was well aware the Captain wasn't going to have any of that. Instead, Tom glanced at John and said roughly, "John ... I need to talk to you." He glanced at the surrounding Avengers. "Somewhere where I wont step on anyone's toes." And oh how he wanted to right now. He was so frustrated he felt the edges of his eyes sting. But he forced the feeling down. Like Eveline, he turned, but he had no intention of following her.

Cap:
Steve hadn't thought of that, of Alyona's empathetic connection. With all of this going on, the room was full of emotion (highs and lows), and it probably felt like she was being hit by bricks just being in there. Not to mention she was probably battling her own emotions at the moment as well. He looked down at their hands as she touched him, and he offered hers a gentle squeeze, but that's all he could do. He slowly lifted his head, and let out a breath. "We'll resume this discussion later," he said. His voice was just barely loud enough to be heard around the room, and it came off as tired. "When we're all rested and we can all grasp the situation better, we'll figure out what we're going to do." Whether we stick together or not...
He frowned to himself, and then he turned away. His eyes fell upon Eveline, who had already disappeared out of the room, and he felt bad that Tony had snapped at her. He didn't know who she was, but she didn't deserve Tony's wrath anymore than he deserved to be stuck in space for three weeks. They were all just a little high strung right now. Maybe a little sleep (or time alone) would help them all. He began to walk after Eveline, although he didn't know where he was heading to exactly, and as he passed Natasha, he once more glanced at her. He noted the emotion in her own eyes, and he knew she probably had a million thoughts racing through her head. But so did he. And he wasn't sure how much more of this he could handle right yet. Trying to argue with Tony was like trying to argue with a wall.
John:
John watched the back and forth between everyone, a slight eye-roll in his gaze. The Avengers weren't supposed to fight, were they? He'd always heard so much good about them, so it was weird to see that the perfect weren't so perfect after all. But, the same went for his own men back home, he supposed. They were all still human behind their masks. Still, now it was getting annoying, and since he'd just promised himself (let's see how long that lasts) that he wouldn't do anything too rash, he decided maybe he should just high-tail it out of there. But before he could even move, Eveline moved first, scared away by Tony it seemed, and then Steve. John tilted his head a little amused that everyone had the same idea as he, and he let his hands fall back to his side as he let out a humorless chuckle. His eyes lifted just slightly, and he mumbled more to the room than to any specific person, "Hey, guys, if anyone cares, I'm just gonna go... do something."
The man began to walk, swinging his arms, and then he heard Tom. He didn't quite know who this man was, other than that he seemed to have some sort of connection to Eveline, and that he had quite the temper. That could either be a good thing or a bad thing. With a temper of his own, John needed someone to calm the fire not fuel it. Still, he lifted an interested eye in Tom's direction. "I'm listening," he said, and then he turned on his heels and followed the other man (who also, incidentally, seemed to be going out the same hall as the Captain and Eveline). He didn't trust anyone, not yet (and hardly ever), but he was curious. What did this 'Tom' want to talk to him about?

Tony in this moment, buckled. He managed to see Eveline turn and walk away. His eyes rolled back and he convulsed across the floor as Pepper gave a shout in fear. It was exhaustion, and he was finally hefted up with the help of a mutant that had opted to hang away from the group. Viktor's figure moved the billionaire from the way and into a separate room where a stand-alone nurse from the compound started to attach him to medical machines. A monitor beeped as his heartrate was registered, his bloodpressure signaling how high it was and an oxygen line appearing as his lungs dared to be refilled with normal levels. It was once high- seemingly red on the black background as it alerted its high intake. A breathing mask was set in place, hoping to counteract the oxygen that ran too rampant in his lungs.
Natasha watched, seemingly silent then as Viktor spaced himself from the group once again. Finding that they wouldn't be able to talk to the man he turned to the assassin. "Alyona and I will go to find our work elsewhere. We're of no current use, and we need to find the rest of our kind," he stated softly. The blonde now at his side, picked up a messenger bag that had been hidden away with the older mutant. Her gaze was soft and full of worry, brows pressed upwards as she passed by Tom and John. Compared to Viktor- she was a small person. It looked like she was a child almost, especially with her slender figure.
"But Alyona.." Natahsa objected, eyes widening as she looked to the smaller female.
"I have family in Russia that remains from Borya's rampage," she explained quietly. "I'm the heir to their company... If anyone remains, I can at least give them hope and find help for us along the way." Fingers curling into the strap, she blinked back tears that threatened to fall. Slowly, the older Russian cupped her cheeks and smeared them away with her thumb pads. There was a comfortable silence between the trio, almost saying a silent speech of giving each other thanks.
"Please come back and say hello once in awhile," Natasha murmured after relinquishing the younger one.
Alyona smiled sadly. "Gotta check up on the stuff over here too. I can keep looking for answers and help on the other side of the world," she promised softly. With that, Viktor turned and led the small Russian away and down the hall towards the exit that would take them elsewhere. It would certainly be to the hangars, and then forwards on from there. They would probably take a plane that could do autopilot and then be taken to Moscow.
Natasha looked at her hands, well aware the two mutants were going to be gone for awhile. In turn, she collected herself by wrapping her arms around herself and walked slowly down the hallway after Steve. The little assassin she's worked with was now grown up and going to be working out on her own in this world. It was more empty now, but at least she had a strong companion that could come back from the dead. For now, she would have to work on helping find Thanos and eventually a way to get everyone home safely. Until then, she would have to find a way to deal with it. She left John and Tom to themselves, making way to find Steve and let him know about Alyona

Seeming aware of Steve following her, Eveline seemed to debate a bit on whether she should speed up or slow down. In the end, she just kept her same pace and Steve caught up from being naturally faster than the small woman. "Your friend is following us," she said, showing the same ineptitude to know that Natasha was following as she had knowing Steve was without ever looking back. She wasn't sure whether she cared to interact with anyone right now. But after a long couple breaths, she did supply, "I have nothing to say." Tom might have had a temper and Eveline might have been awkward, but she didn't seem to be a very capable liar. Instead, she looked away, not meeting Steve's eyes and not looking back at Natasha. But she was slow enough in her walk that it was clear she was waiting for Natasha to say what she had planned to say. She had no real intention of interrupting unless she was asked.
...
To Tom's satisfaction, John had completed his request and come with him. Tom waited until he was far enough away that he didn't think anyone behind them could hear. Then he turned, hands in his pockets. His head was down a bit, so it was completely impossible for him to be meeting John's eyes. Then he tilted his head a bit and did meet John's gaze. He'd broken away from the direction Steve and Eveline had gone in for a reason. He wasn't sure if Eveline would care to hear what he had to say or not. "Do you have a computer?" he asked abruptly. "And a cigarette lighter? Or I'd settle for a box of matches?" Tom didn't look like he smoked. Nor had he shown any sighs he did for the time he'd been around. But the request was brief. "I need to show you something." It didn't seem like he was going to explain much more than that.

(Sorry for disappearing, guys I need to reply) (I hope this makes up for it, heh) Captain Marvel:As Steve suggested putting the conversation off until a later time, Carol didn't utter a single word of protest. All she did was give him a small nod before he left the room. She stayed silent as the others filtered out after him, even as Stark was taken away for medical treatment. Though she knew of elixirs out there in nearby galaxies that could heal him in a heartbeat, he was clearly in good hands already, so she didn't mention it. Instead of saying anything at all, she turned and left the room as well. One could suggest Carol wasn't saying anything because she didn't know these Avengers very well. For her, though, three weeks was plenty of time to get to know someone. Three weeks was long enough for her to get familiar with the layout of most of the Avengers' facility and remember exactly how to get to the west wall from here, which was where she was headed. No, she wasn't saying anything because, for once, she didn't know exactly what to do. Carol had never been a very patient person. She was more of the "act now, debate later" type. But in a situation like this, there was no clear way how to act. She could spend years scouring the universe for Thanos, but that would take too long. She could ask a few friends if they had any idea where he could be, but it wasn't very likely they would. She could just wait around for the Avengers to figure out something first, but she didn't think she could stand waiting any longer. Carol hated indecisiveness. It made her feel restless and frustrated and wasting valuable time. But here she was, going over the options in her head, just about ready to pick one and do it already, when she realized she'd reached the edge of the building facing the field. It had been three weeks since Thanos had snapped. Three weeks, and the lawn was still perfectly trimmed. The rest of the buildings in the compound seemed a bit abandoned and quiet, but any outsider might guess that was because the day was only beginning, the pale light of dawn just now reaching every corner. Out of context, it might look as if nothing had really gone wrong. As if the compound itself was saying, "Until we're sure the world has ended, we'll continue on with the hope that it won't." That sounds like something Fury would say, Carol realized with amusement. She wouldn't be surprised if he actually had said something like it at some point. But then she remembered with a pang that the world had ended for him. The last thing he'd probably ever seen was dozens of people around him turning to dust. Optimism hadn't been enough for him then. But what if it had been? Carol couldn't help but wonder. What if he were here with us today? What would he do now? About Thanos? One thing was for certain, he would never give up. He hadn't made this team of Avengers just so they could lose hope the first time they took a hit. He'd made them so they would keep getting up even if they stood no chance of winning, so they would defend those who couldn't defend themselves. And he'd made them a team, not a bunch of quarreling egos who could throw a punch. And he'd be quick to tell them all that when they had a hard time seeing the same. And if Fury had believed in them, well, Carol had better try her best to believe in them, too. So, Steve was probably right. Trying to reach a decision when they were probably all just as exhausted and frustrated as she was wouldn't be very helpful. And though Carol hated waiting, maybe it was the best thing to do for at least a little while.

Cap:
Steve had been too busy walking away that he hadn't noticed Alyona leaving before it was too late. He heard her footsteps, and then he watched her silent figure retreat with Viktor, but he only had time to open his mouth and then close it before she was gone. He considered running after her and begging her to stay, but he knew that one of the reasons she had stayed was because of Bucky. Obviously, she'd stayed for the rest of them, too, but with Bucky gone, it was less one thread holding her in place. He wasn't surprised that she wanted a little alone time... and perhaps it would be good if she could get in touch with others. Maybe spreading out was a good thing. But they couldn't all leave. They were putting off decision making right now, but he still wanted the Avengers together when the time came to act. And this certainly wasn't what he'd envisioned, that the Avengers would disband once more when the world needed them. What a leader he was, eh?
He let out a sigh, turning back to the hallway, and he let his legs catch up to Eveline. He was quiet until Eveline spoke, and then he just offered a small nod. "I know," he said because with trained ears he had, as well, heard the quiet footsteps of Natasha. But he didn't turn around to face the red-head because he knew all too well she was about to give him news he didn't want to hear. So, he repeated, this time to Natasha, "I know." And he swallowed, eyes forward. I know everyone is leaving. I know I'm a disappointment.
John:
John followed after Tom, eyes narrowed, and then he crossed his arms as he stopped, legs apart. He noted the awkwardness of the man, unable to meet his gaze at first, but John only looked on, eyes focused and hard with curious suspicion. It was when Tom spoke that John's expression relaxed a bit and changed from suspicion to bewilderment. "I'm sorry, excuse me?" he blurted (and he had to lower his voice a bit because the oddity of the question made him speak louder). "I don't know who you think I am, but I'm new to this place, just like you. I certainly didn't bring a computer with me. Nor do I have either of your other... requests," he said quieter. He lifted his eyebrows, and then he let out a exasperated breath. "But you've piqued my interest. What is it you want to show me? And why is it something I have the feeling you want no one else to see?"

Tom scowled in annoyance. It was inconvenient that the one person he might possibly even be willing to talk to couldn't help. At least not with what Tom had needed him for. He supposed he should have expected the questions. He couldn't just brush them off now that he didn't have what he needed. Well, he could, but somehow he doubted that it would have gotten him very far. "What I wanted to show you," Tom murmured. "Would likely have required the things I asked for. It's slightly problematic, but I guess I'll have to hunt them down myself." Not completely true, but close enough. Hesitating, eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at John, Tom finally nodded. "You aren't wrong about not wanting anyone else to see. But that explanation doesn't include all the information. What I wanted to show you was a friend of mine. Who doubtlessly wont answer if I don't have a bit of incentive. Otherwise, I suppose you could say I wanted to show you that I might have something to help. But I can't really be a strong voice here without drawing attention to myself."

(I forgot you weren't here during that, Maple! It was fun! It was when the Avengers had first kind of gotten Bucky back from Wakanda after getting his mind fixed and they had to kind of blend in b/c they were still wanted. So, we pretended there was a local play of the Wizard of Oz going on and if anyone asked, Bucky was playing the tin man & that explained his... tin XD So, yes, he will be the tin man. Let's see my other characters... Bucky= Tin Man Captain America= he should just be steve rogers XDPeter Quill= I'm thinking he should dress up as Ren from Footloose XD I can just imagine everyone being like "who are you dressed as?" and he'd be like "Ren... from Footloose..." and everyone would just be like... uhhh... but idk XD I could also see him going as Batman and trying to be all buff and macho XD Logan= The Big Bad Wolf (from the three little pigs) or a lumberjack, cuz that works too John= ??? This is hard XD Omsc, haha. Hopping from one ship to another XD)
