Anyone else got the PMD remake? If so, how's the difficulty so far? I for one find it harder than the original. I mean sure, you can train at the Makuhita Dojo. But for my first playthrough I want to avoid that. It's very easy to become overleveled there. Anyway... is it just me or is this game much more unforgiving than the original when it comes to the hunger mechanic? I never needed so many apples in Blue Rescue Team. The bosses seem to be smarter, too. Or maybe I'm just unlucky. Skarmory was still easy but I actually had to use an Oran Berry. But then again my team is Eevee and Cubone. Team Meanies wasn't hard either, but since you can have so many Pokémon on the team that's not really surprising. Now, Zapdos was a bit harder. I had to use two Tiny Reviver Seeds. He was still pretty easy to beat, he gave me much more trouble in Blue Rescue Team. But I'm about to start the Fugitive Arc now... So it's just Eevee and Cubone for the next two bosses. I'm not looking forward to Arcticuno. One thing that makes me fear the next dungeons even more: Traps. You know how in the original they only appeared in the postgame dungeons? Well, here they show up as early as frickin' Mt. Steel! The third dungeon! So far I've encountered Blast Traps, Slumber Traps, Spin Traps and Chestnut Traps. Anyway, I'm really enjoying this game so far
Talk about a difficulty spike. Four Tiny Reviver Seeds and I'm only at Lapis Cave. Four! Stupid Golbat and their supersonic. Stupid Tangela and their absorb, always trying to kill my partner. Stupid Nidorina and Nidorino trying to make me waste my Pecha Berries. And even better, fighting two or three of those assholes at once! Sheesh. You know what's the last time I had so much trouble with Lapis Cave? On my very first playthrough of PMD1. When I had no idea what I was doing because I didn't read the stuff about switching my partner's attacks on and off or how to walk diagonally. Lapis Cave on all my other playthroughs? Well, it wasn't exactly a walk in the park but it wasn't this terrifying either. Definitely nothing to worry about. Eevee at level 15 and Cubone at level 16 upon leaving this cave. Yup, reminds me of my first Blue Rescue Team playthrough with Cyndaquil and Chikorita. The one where I had to fight Moltres so many times and sometimes didn't even make it to the summit. I'm so screwed xD Maybe I should have used the dojo after all. Oh well, Eevee and Cubone are still better against Moltres than Cyndaquil and Chikorita. So maybe I'm not that screwed.
Nevermind, the fugitives arc wasn't so bad after all. Or at least not quite as hard as I feared. Except for Lapis Cave but I have already ranted enough about that. So. Mt. Blaze... Does anyone know if the Numel there always knew magnitude? I've never seen them use it in the original. Incinerate is still one of the most bullshit moves but I've only encountered it once and it missed. Now, Moltres was a pain. I used up so many Oran Berries. And my partner didn't use his linked moves even though I switched of his other attacks. It wouldn't have changed much but I think I could have used one berry and Tiny Reviver Seed less. Frosty Forest wasn't so bad at first. But the second part... I got really unlucky and wasted two Tiny Reviver Seeds because of two Rhyhorn with multi-hit moves. Arcticuno was almost fun. Used up a lot of Oran Berries and one Tiny Reviver Seed. I finally decided on using linked moves. As in turning all four moves into one. For myself and my partner. If I hadn't done that Arcticuno would have kicked my ass. Mt. Freeze was annoying and if it wasn't for Eevee and Cubone's linked moves this place would have been awful. My level 28 Absol was a big help, too. Eevee and Cubone were at level 18 and 20. But here's something messed up. The second area of this dungeon. The Glalie there, they... they could use Sheer Cold. I don't remember them doing that in the original. Not at Mt. Freeze. Thankfully I was lucky and they missed.
So to make a long story short: Watch out for Numel with Magnitude at Mt. Blaze and for those Sheer Cold using Glalie at Mt. Freeze. And for traps, of course. Gust Traps are no fun at Mt. Blaze. PP-Zero traps show up at Mt. Freeze for the first time, I think. And I found some Grimy Food at Mt. Blaze so there might be Grimy Traps but I'm not sure.
By the way, Uproar Forest is only four floors long now. The Mankey Gang is on the fourth floor, chestnuts can be found on the third one. You need to collect three of them (in the original you only had to pick up two). And the Mankey Gang is much stronger now. Don't ask me about Monster Houses though, I haven't seen one yet and I've been to Uproar Forest four times. As for traps, this is where I first encountered Warp Traps. I'm telling ya, Magma Cavern and Sky Tower are going to be fun.

I just got the remake today and I’m grinding up as much as I can before sinister woods. Mostly because that gave me the most grief back in the day lol

A little warning for you. It's not that important right now since you're preparing for Sinister Woods but it's something you should keep in mind for later. You know how Wishcash telling the legend is a point of no return in the originals? That you can't really train after that and you have to prepare for the fugitives arc before that? Before you ask Wishcash to tell you the story you have all the time in the world.
Well, in the remake the point of no return is a little earlier. Your last chance to do job requests is before the Great Canyon. You can't visit any of the old dungeons after that, your partner will insist on visiting Wishcash. So you should definitely finish all your preparations after Mt. Thunder.

Is the new Mystery Dungeon game worth getting? I played the original, but I haven’t heard much about the remake. It doesn’t really seem to be all that prevalent in the fandom lol. Or at least where i’m looking.

I think its because pokemon sorta did a piss poor job of advertising that the mystery dungeon remakes were even coming out. Like one day I heard about it, the next I knew it was already released but next to nobody is playing it and other people ive talked to didnt know it was out yet either

I haven't been playing much Pokemon lately, but I just recently started playing Platinum again and I can't wait for the remakes! Like, I genuinely can't wait to see Giratina done in the new graphics. And Cynthia???? Can't wait to get destroyed by her again. Especially if they decide to make the games just as fun (aka slightly more difficult than the new games) as the og ones. Which they better.

I’m most excited about seeing everything in 3D like the cutscenes. But I’m most worried about it getting the same treatment as SwSh

Yeah that's fair. I hope they actually look into what people liked and disliked about SwSh. I would LOVE if they did another Wild Area kinda place

I think if they did another wild area place in DP remakes it would probably be in the safari zone

Ok, i don't have 100% of the details down so theres obviously room for improvement.
Dragapult: Lock-on, Baton pass, dragon dance, ? Durant: Hidden ability truant: Guillotine, Entrainment, Baton pass, Metal sound Shedinja: Phantom force, protect, substitute, endure
Not really sure about the rest, but the main strategies are to dragon dance a few times, lock on, baton pass to durant, guillotine, and repeat. The other strategy is to pass durant's truant to the opponent with entrainment so they become predictable, pass to Shedinja, and simply Be A Wall!

I have no ideas for the other three mons, aside from maybe just a shuckle with the typical shuckle shenanigans on it.
