Only one month left before online services for Pokemon 3DS titles gets shut down.
Still haven’t got a date for when Pokemon Bank will go down, but I think the Pokemon company confirmed it would remain online for some time after everything else goes down. Take that with a grain of salt because I’m gonna call it right now it’ll happen sometime within the year.

Take that with a grain of salt because I’m gonna call it right now it’ll happen sometime within the year. The only switch games I've enjoyed so far are the Let's Go games and it'll likely remain that way since I really do not like open world games so my Pokémon are going to remain on my 2DS XL. Pretendo is working on getting a replacement up for the online so I'm not too worried about the servers going down. I also have a 3DS and a copy over every game up until Gen 8 so regardless I'll be able to get all the Pokémon I need. It is sad to see the end of an era though

I remember getting upset that TPC took down Pokemon Uranium so when Sword and Shield came out I made my jersey number 92 (the atomic number for Uranium)

Relic Castle got DMCA'd by TPCI. Fan Games are gonna be a lot harder to get started now That sucks a lot. I'm not super into the Pokemon fangame/romhacking scene (I do know about most of the big ones, and my knowledge mostly comes from watching let's plays of people playing them), but that is awful and I feel bad for all the developers. I hope Pokemon Essentials didn't get taken down, because that was a really good tool from what I've seen. I know TPC tried to at one point, but I'm not sure if anything happened to it all? Same for that Pokemon Mystery Dungeon romhack tool that I forgot the name of. Other then that, I don't have much more to say other than what most people have already said. (Small semi-related Nintendo rant below) We all know Nintendo does things like this all the time. They are well known for taking down fangames emulators, and the like. For example, what recently happened with Yuzu and Citra. (I'm more upset about Citra for a variety of reasons, mainly that Yuzu was a ticking bomb since they had a Pateron for it.) But major nothing ever comes out of it, reaction wise. Most people are going to be mad, go bring up somthing else Nintendo did (like the melee tournament incident), and then forgot about it and go buy the Paper Mario TTYD remake. I bet you the next time Nintendo goes somthing similar to this, people are going to go "Hey, remember when they took down Relic Castle?", but... Nothing's really going to come out of it, which is really sad because people worked really hard on these games, and put love and passion into them, and all that is thrown away because a company is petty. So talking about somthing more positive, are there any moments in a piece of Pokemon media that stood out to you that you don't see talked about much? Mine was probably the ultimate weapon being activated in Geosenge Town in X and Y because it stays the same afterwards. You'd exact it to go back to normal after you defeat Team Flare, but no! It stays like that for the rest of the game, So there's just this massive crater there with houses toppled over! Another one from the anime was Sorrel's Luxray dying in the I Choose You movie because it's really "out of character" for Pokemon. Pokemon dying is dark enough, but usually when they die, it's offscreen or it's a magical sacrifice and their shown fading away. (And the ones that did die onscreen like Celebi and Zoruark were revived, unlike Luxray.) Like in Stoutland's case, it was never stated even though it's very obvious it died. (until we saw its spirit in another episode, but that's besides the point) On the other hand, we see Luxray's frozen body, and child!Sorrel crying while getting taken away from it is sad too. Also, the idea of a Pokemon freezing to death really irks me because their elemental monsters that get frozen and hit with ice moves with all the time.

Sorrels Luxray literally made me nearly cry in the theater, as did the old lady's Snubbul in Power of Us.
I think unlike ice type moves though that can cause a temporary status effect that can be healed as soon as possible, they can still get hypothermia and they aren't immortal. Even Mystery Dungeon has touched on that before when you nearly fall asleep and freeze before the Absol comes to save you. The anime also nearly had Ash freeze before his pokemon came out to warm up with shared body heat, but Luxray doesn't have the convenience of being a fire type that can always be warm.

Yeah, that makes sense. I barely remember anything from Red and Blue Rescue Team, but I did remember that Absol was with you in a ice stage. It's still weird to see a Pokemon not die by magical sacrifice or other fantastical means, even though them dying has been a thing since Gen 1. You don't usually see explicit death in a family friendly franchise like Pokemon so it's sort of shocking. (Same with Zoruark and Snubbul's deaths.)
In other news, 3DS Online shuts down in 5 days from now. I've heard people say that Pretendo (or some other server) would help keep the online functions of the 3DS, but I'm worried Nintendo is going to axe it because they really have been on a streak lately. They forced a system update that made people not be able to access the Eshop after it shut down (even though people thankfully got around that.), took down Citra when the 3DS was having it's online services pulled, and took down Relic Castle.
