"Not everyone can step the boundaries of time like you."  Gwen nods and decides to continue explaining, "Well for me I had a twin brother who I always fought with but he was protective over me. The day the overseers came to our community he insisted that I muddy my hair. I didn't understand why at the time so I ignored him. Later that night they came barging in and grabbing my brother and me. He complied with what they told him to do but I didn't. I got forced to watch them murder my parents and my brothers girlfriend. I started freaking out as they started talking about what they we're going to do to me. My brother heard part of it and tried to get to me to protect me but instead got himself killed. But I wasn't going to have any of it and broke out of their grasp. They tried to shoot me but instead the outside stopped them. Which I how I have his mark. He called me the child he always wanted and said that he'd always protect me like my brother tried too do." She finishes leaving out that they had branded her twice. |

"That's...odd." Adekin took another drink of whiskey. "About the outsider, I mean. He's been known to be unpredictable, but to see another mortal as his child...I just never saw it happening." he sat there in silence for a moment. He then grabbed another whiskey tumbler and poured some of the bottle into it, before pushing it to the edge of his desk, offering a drink to Gwen.
(I mean, it's a slaughterhouse filled with magical assassins. I don't think underage drinking is exactly frowned upon in here lol)

"He's also never given his mark to anyone under the age of eighteen." She adds as just a little side note. She also wonders if he's is going to ask to see her mark to which she'll have to explain why she has two. |

"Not everyone can step the boundaries of time like you." Gwen blinks wondering if he could read her mind but nods and turns around before pulling the back of her shirt up. Her back was covered in the two marks. One bigger then the other but both were the same and any other outsiders mark. "I know your gonna ask how do I have two." She mumbles before dropping her shirt down and turning back to face him wanting to see his face over the facemt she had two and they were on her back instead of her hand. |

Adekin's facial expression remained unchanged, for at this point he was mostly expecting things to be out of the ordinary. "That is indeed a very good question, and I would very much enjoy an answer if you're willing to share." He refilled both of the glasses with more whiskey, making a mental note to make this his final drink for the night.

"Well the smaller one was the brand but the outsider didn't want me to have the physical reminder of that so he changed it to his mark. The bigger one he says is the way it is to have a better eye on me." She briefly explains and runs a hand through her hair no bothered with the dry mud falling in front of her face. |

Adekin pondered for a moment. "I suppose that makes sense." He downed the rest of his drink and stood up from his desk. "Well, I suppose we should get some rest. There's more business to do tomorrow." He grabbed the bottle with the remainder amount of alcohol in it and placed it back onto the shelf. "You may return to the sleeping quarters with the others."

Some of those guys have given me a look that I know wouldn't be good for me." She says and smiles before adding, "Thanks for not thinking I'm crazy." She then activates her shadow run ability and goes to the window. |

"Alright, just try not to fall off." Adekin turned from the shelf to look at Gwen. Though his expression mostly stayed the same, he managed to smile a little. "No problem, Gwen." Adekin then turns and walks to his bed, and lies down for a decent night's sleep.

"I wonder if he'll wake me in my dream tonight or actually show up" she mutters while thinking about the Outsider. She smiles and lays down on her back to watch the stars. |

"Only you can believe all is lost but I know with time, nothing is lost." So I actually did my homework(finally) but here is this little fun thing that I wanted to write for you(and sorry if I make the Outsider to OCish)
"Not everyone can step the boundaries of time like you." Gwen was just starting to fall asleep when she hears soft foot steps coming from her left, to which she just opens one eye and looks that direction before smiling and sitting up. "So you choose my world tonight." she says softly sounding relaxed and fully like the kid she should have been.
The Outsider chuckles and sits down next to her before responding, "You don't seem surprised anymore, Gwenifer." He tone sounding nearly the same but a slight hint of amusement seeping through. He takes a moment to look up before shaking his head and looking at Gwen, which thankfully was just in time for him to dodge a punch from Gwen. "Still don't like your name I see." He states after recovering from the dodge.
"Yeah and I wish you'd stop using it." She half growls before taking a deep breath to ask, "Why do you keep saying it?" She figures maybe she'll get a straight answer for once but doubts it.
"To see if you remember." He states while watching her fall back in fustration and letting out an annoyed groan. He chuckles obviously knowing that it fustrates her to not get a straight answer. "To see if you remember before your adoption." He decides to add only to start laughing when she quickly sits up sputtering trying to find a response to her new answer.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She says lamely and groans again hearing how lame it sounded with her voice cracking as she had asked but also smiles at his laugh. "Ok, mister use to have blue eyes! Yack it up!" She playfully shouts before crossing her arms in a fake pout.
"Well, How about a change in topic? I noticed you trying to trust Adekin today. And you had a little to much fun killing the overseers... Oh, and you found a rune and a few bone charms." He says and watches her sputter again before just settling with a glare. "I said I'd protect you Gwenifer. And I will. That means knowing almost everything you do." He says in what could almost be called a fatherly tone.
"Yeah, Yeah. What do you not know?" She asks slightly annoyed but ends up yawning which breaks her serious look.
"Very little. Now get some sleep you're going to have a busy day ahead of you." He says and smiles as she listens but not without shooting one last glare at him before fully falling asleep, at which point he stands up and quietly leaves.

Gwen is starting to wake up to the sun in her face which manages to annoy her and make her grumpy.  |

(Seems alright to me!)
Adekin woke from an uneventful sleep. He sat up from his bed and stretched before standing up. He walked over to the window behind his desk and looked down at the killing floor, where his assassins were already awake- well, mostly anyways- and wandering around.

"Not everyone can step the boundaries of time like you." Gwen stays on the roof not wanting to deal with the other assassins and still grumpy about it actually being sunny. She resolves to build a makeshift shelter once she gets the chance and a whole day to herself. |

Adekin walked out of his private quarters and made his way to the planning room. He picked up some papers and inspected them carefully before placing them up on the wall along with a different map. He wanted to make sure he had as much information on the next target as possible.

After a few more moment and thinking about her conversation before sleeping and that helps bring her out of her grumpy mood but doesn't mean it can't change again. She decides to go bug Adekin but parkours down instead of using any abilities. |

Adekin sighed in annoyance when he found one small detail in one of the documents: the target has clockwork soldiers. He shook his head and placed a drawing of one of the mechanical terrors on the map. This makes things a lot more difficult... he thought to himself.

She says before looking up at Adekin and adding, "I won't do this solo though." And she crosses her arms to make sure her point is proven. |

"We will be traveling to the estate district to assassinate a man by the name of Tom Powel. He's been known for being a cruel boss to his workers, and he recently purchased a set of clockwork soldiers."

"Just the usual bad boss stuff; physically harming them, threatening them, forcing them to work overtime, barely paying them a living, the list goes on." Adekin points to a map of a large mansion. "This is his home, and he could be in one of two places: His office or his bedroom." he turned and picked up his sword off of the table. "Other than that, and that he has royal guards in addition to his clockworks, we have almost no information about him or the area."

"Not everyone can step the boundaries of time like you." In less then ten minutes Gwen had fully gotten her hair clean. Though she had some unwanted help. She was worried that he might not let her come once he sees how blonde her hair actually is. |
