(Arja isn't from this island, lol, she's an outcast from another island.)
Arja's head snapped up, her sword whipping out. Adta's head shot up he sniffed the air, his wings flaring out as he growled loudly. Arja scanned the area, checking for the source of the noise, she could just be going crazy, but she wasn't going to risk it. "Come out! I know you are there!" She shouted loudly. "If you don't, my dragon will find you. I am not afraid of you."

Ah, sorry)
'I am not afraid of you.' The words rang in Cartha's ears, echoing in her brain. "You should be," she muttered, but too quietly for the other person to actually hear. In all honesty, she was afraid of this person, too. People were the thing that caused her the biggest fear, because they were ruthless and unpredictable. Of course, that meant she was as well, unpredictable, at the very least.
With some hesitation, she jumped from the tree she was in only yards away. At the sight of the sword, her hands instinctively grabbed at the twin daggers on her hips and pulled them out, ready for a fight if it came to that. However, she only stood her ground for now, and he eyes drifted to the dragon behind the other girl. "You ride a dragon?" Her question came out cold and almost mocking. She had to see what this person was like with a little acting. If she rode a dragon, she couldn't be all bad, right? But there was always a test.

Arja's eyes narrowed at Cartha. Adta rumbled but let his wings fold. The mocking tone made memories stir in Arja's mind. She growled slightly. "So what if I do, I will defend my dragon with my life," She asked, narrowing her eyes at the girl. I shall not let them take my dragon, you may cast me out of my town and family, but I draw the line at Adta. Arja thought.
She frowned at Cartha's gloves. "What are those?" she asked, pointing at them with her free hand. "Did you skin a dragon to get them?!" Her sword immedietly shot higher.

Cartha liked the response she got, but the glove question was not expected. However, it was actually appreciated. She looked down at her gloves and boots. "Technically, yes. It was already dead, wounded in battle with some other dragon. I don't know, I just found it and didn't want it to go entirely to waste. Of course, I buried it afterward." She would have liked to give it the proper viking funeral by setting it ablaze on a boat, but that just hadn't been an option at the time.
The girl shook her head. "It's interesting how you say you'll die for a dragon, and get upset at my attire," she commented, lowering her daggers a bit. "Nice to know I'm not the only one who can appreciate such mighty beasts." her eyes drifted back to the stormcutter. "He's a very magnificent boy, and you seem close." She hoped to be close with Amber one day.

Arja seemed shocked by this. Adta tilted his head slightly and stuck his nose forwards towards Cartha. "So. . . Let me get this right, you're . . . . Not hostile towards my dragon?" Arja asked, she lowered her sword slightly. "And of course I'd die for Adta, I got thrown out of my village for him. He's all I have left."

That look of shock told Cartha that this castaway was not familiar with dragon riders wherever she came from. In response to the question, the girl shook her head. "Not at all. I find dragons to be much more sophisticated than humans. Dragons don't attack for no reason at all like people do," she replied. It was the last statement, however, that caught her off guard slightly. "You mean your family is dead, too? Small world."
Cartha's parents had been everything to her, the only ones she could trust, until meeting Amber, of course. but even then, that was back when she couldn't even touch the dragon, so not too long ago. The wounds of losing her parents to other vikings were still fresh on her heart. Now, Amber was all she had left, as well. This other girl had much more in common with Cartha than predicted. "Might I ask your name? It's only polite if we are going to continue this conversation. I get this is Adta, though." She gestured with one of the blades towards the stormcutter, only since she was still holding it. They wouldn't be put away until the sword was first. "It seems to fit."

Arja snorted. "Ha! They're as good as dead to me," she said, swinging her sword over her back and putting in the sheath on her back. "No, I was thrown out three years ago by my village for befriending the enemy of the village. I was given these markings-" Arja showed Cartha the tattoo's on her face, and given one days worth of food and water, and forced to leave."
Adta cooed and rubbed Arja with his head. She sighed. "My name is Arja, daughter of the cheif of (whatever island)," Arja said. "And yes. This Adta, he is my stormcutter."

"I see," Cartha replied, nodding slightly as she spoke. She sheathed her blades as well but was still ready to run or right if need be thanks to her paranoia; she was almost always on high alert. "I'm working on befriending one myself. She's not so trusting of anyone, human or dragon alike, but we're working on it. I assume you know what a Death Song is?"

Arja tilted her head. "I'm sorry, I'm afraid I don't," Arja said, raising a brow. She coughed slightly, then turned to Adta's bags and pulled out a flask of something. Adta watched Cartha carefully.

"then you must not actually study the creatures as I do," she said and sat down on a fallen tree near her. With the blades away, it was a tad bit safer. "I'm Cartha, by the way. I wouldn't mind showing you what a Death Song looks like, or what she can do, but there's not guarantee she'll come if I call." Normally, this would not be an okay idea. However, seeing as how these two had yet to attack her, and they were proof that humans and dragons could be friends - more proof than the legends suggested - it might be okay to have Amber come around, if she actually came, that is. She would try and howled like a wolf. it was the perfect way to call to a dragon in secret for the reasons that it was less suspicious than whistling or actually calling the name, and howls tended to echo, making the sound travel more and harder for people to pinpoint. Dragons, however, had much better hearing. "She may or may not come."

Arja winced slightly as she took a long drink of whatever was in her flask. She looked up, leaning against Adta. "I don't often study dragons, just my own," she said, frowning as a chunk of hair fell out of her ponytail.

"You should study more types, and dragons as a whole species. It's good to know things," Cartha advised. She herself found knowledge to be a huge gift and asset. The more you knew, the safer and better off you were. "So, you're just freelance flying now, yes? Not staying anywhere?" She didn't care to know where, or rather, she wouldn't ask where if they did have a home made up somewhere. The girl was well aware Arja would never say the location they were living at, unless she was just that stupid. but she didn't appear to be so at all.

"Our only home is the skies," Arja said. "Do you live here, Cartha? What happened to your village?"
(Sorry, short reply...)

"I do, unfortunately, and some dragons attacked it. I don't know why exactly, but they were probably mad at some of the vikings," she answered and shrugged. She honestly didn't care about anyone in the village really, besides small children. They were the only ones still impressionable and innocent enough.
A roar sounded in the distance then. And soon, a Death Song appeared in the sky, circling above the riders and other dragon. For a moment, she stayed there, her multi-colored wings flapping gracefully. With another small roar, she came to land behind Cartha, snorting at the other dragon and person. She clearly wasn't happy to see them here, and as much as she and Cartha had a ways to go trust wise, she felt a need to protect this single human.
Cartha smiled and turned half way to the new dragon. "This is Amber." The dragon's head tilted slightly at the mention of her name. her scales were a beautiful golden yellow that blended into other warm peaches and reds on her wings, save for the striking shaped patterns of blues and whites. Blue frills donned her tail and head as well, with three, large spikes on her back. She looked like any other Death Song, but the difference of one of her horns broken in half gave her a touch of uniqueness.

(Sorry for the poof ya'll)
Runa yelped as the dragon grabbed her. "Bad choice you filthy beast." She growled, yanking a dagger out of her belt. She grunted and swung upwards, stabbing the dagger into the scales of the dragon's leg. As soon as the dragon's grip loosned, she wiggled out of it's claws, momentarily regretting it as she tumbled to the ground. She grunt as she shoulder struck the ground and then cried out in pain as she shoulder and arm popped and a stabbing pain shot up her limbs. She rolled away, struggling to her feet. Only to stumble into a strudy body.
(I figure I should bring in the chief since..ya know...the village has been burned down and his son went to a healer xD)
The chief stormed up the healers steps. His village had been half burned there were probably a few deatsh that he hadn't even heard about and no he hears his son was hurt as well. He shoved open the door, taking in the scene in seconds, "What in Thor's name are you doing to my son!?" He shouted in a rough cruel tone.

Boaz the his gangs up in time to block most of the liquid that splashed his face. It burned his skin and itched. He scramble away towards the sound of his father's voice. "We are betrayed!"

The burly man shouted with anger. "You filthy rats!! I want all their heads on a pike!" He shouted, drawing his sword and swinging it forward. Dozens of vikings who'd come with him to check on Boaz flooded the house.
(So I have a plot idea. So what do you think if like they are going to kill Leisha and her family, but they all escape with the help of the dragons or something and become like outlaws? So like Boaz and RUna go after them and they force Katla and Karina to come to?)

(DIME! HAAAIIIiiii) Arja inclined her head to the dragon. "Greetings Amber," she said, "You are quite a magnificent dragon." She stepped away from Adta, which the Stormcutter did not appreciate much. He growled lowly at his rider, wrapping his tail around her protectively.
Arja snorted in amusement at her dragon. "Adta, I will be fine, how long did I protect myself before you?" She asked the dragon, as if she expected a response. He grumbled but loosened his grip on her legs. Arja looked at Cartha. "How on earth did you manage to tame . . . The dragon?" She asked, not wanting to be offensive by mis-gendering it.

"I never did," Cartha answered simply. "We're working on it, but nothing is final at all yet. I can't even get on her back. Frankly, I'm surprised she came when I called." She placed a hand on Amber's nose gently but kept a careful eye on Arja and Adta.
Amber growled and spread her large wings, along with the frills on the sides of her head, at the other human. She did not like the fact that was there at all, much less even moving. She and Cartha were perfect for each other in the sense that they were both paranoid of others and lashed out from fear. The dragon didn't even seem to notice Cartha's hand being too focused on the others.

Sounds good but, Carlos will rebel against the idea. Can Arpain steal Runa and let it shock the village?)
Arpain growled and flew back down, hitting Runa's hand with his tail, knocking away her weapon. He snatched her up and flew up quickly high to the air. Leisha, Sewsha, and Aaron prepared to fight.
Nightsky had noticed the scene. She flew low and spit her fire at the crowd, roaring. She flew back up and spit her flames at the Chief as well.

Arja raised a brow at Amber. "I will not hurt you or Cartha," she said gently. She nudged Adta's tail. Adta sighed to himself, he tucked his wings in and tilted his head. Focusing on Amber.
My rider means no harm, we will not attack. We are simply resting here for the night, before continuing on our way Adta said gently to Amber, blinking at her.

(Ikr!! I've been very busy with life lately lol xD whatcha been up to?) The chieftain moved to Boaz, pulling him to his feet. "Out the door son. Go find Miyanda, she will give you something for your wounds." He said flatly before turning to Liesha and her family. "Your sentence won't be as harsh if you come peacefully. If you decide to fight, your suffering will be far worse." He said in a cold voice. (Hmm, well, I kinda wanted her to go with Boaz because Tawny and I had an idea about going out and trying to find Liesha and her family and hunting down Matthias since he's disappeared as well. Because then on that journey the characters could slowly develop a realization about the dragons and such. So I'd rather she wasn't kidnapped right now. Thanks for asking! ) Runa gave a sharp cry as the dragon grabbed her again and her arm smacked against the ground before he took off. Her injured arm hung limply down, every flap of the dragon causing a sharp pain to jolt up her arm. She culd tell from the angle of her limb that she'd dislocated her shoulder and most likely broke her arm. Runa blinked her eyes as black dots danced in front of her eyes. Her fingers moved along her belt and snatched up another dagger. "You will not be taking me anywhere!" She grunted and swung upward, stabbing its leg with all her strength. Suddenly she was falling, free falling, plummeting through the air. Runa could hardly catch her breath and suddenly water smacked her back and she was sinking, quickly. Runa scrambled for the surface, but her thick wool and her injured arm didn't help. Dispite her efforts she slowly began to sink.

Boaz watched Runa and the dragon, unfortunately he couldn't help, but Runa knew how to take care of herself. Boaz nodded at his father before glaring at Leisha. "You'll pay for this." He said, turning. He headed back toward his home when he saw Runa falling from the sky and into the lake. Boaz paused, looking for her to surface.

Amber's nostrils flared. "Why should I trust that this is the truth?" she said back, baring her fangs by opening her mouth slightly. If either of them made a move, they would be coated in gold gunk, the stuff she spit out instead of fire. then, they'd be stuck right where they were, helpless.
To Cartha's surprise, the dragon actually stepped closer and leaned over the girl, a protective stance. "She's not trusting of anyone really," she explained to the other rider and dragon. "Just don't make any moves towards us, or any sudden moves." It's not like she cared if they did and got frozen in place, left to Amber's mercy. But, the right thing to do was to give a fair warning, so that's what they got.

Nightsky spit her fire at Boaz and the Chief separating them. She roared, shaking the ground.
Arpain flew into the water and dived down. He grabbed Runa and pulled her out. He flapped his wings and managed to get back into the air.
Aaron stepped forward. "If you try anything, Chief, I will reveal your true heritage and where you are really from! I will also reveal what you have caused!" He yelled out, knowing the secrets.

(School, what else?)
Arja raised a brow. "What will she do if we do?" she asked carefully. Adta's tail tightened around Arja and all his muscles were tense.
Because, if we wanted to harm you or your rider, we would've done it earlier while you were unaware, Adta responded calmly. If Arja hurts you, intentionally, without being attacked first, She will deal with me. I will vouch for this human, can you vouch for yours? Adta said all these things calmly, but a slight fog was building inside his mouth, ready to spew fire at the other pair of riders.

"Let's just say, you won't make it two steps," Cartha responded, feeling it safer to not tell this girl what exactly would happen. If she didn't already know of a Death Song's ability, then that gave them a little upper if need be.
Amber continued to growl but did not answer right away. For her, she would have to be putting a lot of trust into Cartha, saying that she wouldn't attack. Could she really do that with human? After all, it was humans who took her horn and babies away, but it was also humans who took the girl's family as well. She still did not know this human too well, either. A lot was still left to be discovered. The colorful dragon gazed down at Cartha who stood under her now. I've already taken to protecting her, so I guess I have to give her a chance, she thought to herself. "Yes. I will," she responded, ceasing the growling and relaxing just a bit, but she did not move from her spot over the human. "But I am still watching you both."
