Cherryvine nearly stumbled as she reached the camp entrance. This was real, Starclan what were the kits going to think? Their fearless father gone. She sniffled quietly, trying to steel herself for their sake. They would need their mother to be strong.

Lionscorch frowned with disdain as he realized that Sunstrike was correct. There was no prey scent. He gave a gruff sigh. “It’s probably because the flood washed it all away. Great. The fire was bad enough, and now we can’t even find prey in the warmer moons. Ugh.” He lashed his tail. “We need to do something, or we’re good as starved.” (Sorry for late response, was gonna gve Willow some time to respond but its fine *shrug*) Sunstrike growled in annoyance, "The clan better not starve, we have so many warriors its hard to think we might," He glanced towards the thicker part of the forest, "I think I remember in the deeper part of the marshs there was a large amount of frogs, maybe a mouse den too, although I could just be remembering a diffrent time, want to try there?" sorry storm, I'm in grad school and working full time :/ you can always respond if I don't! ) Thistlestalk flicked his tail, "It's worth a shot," His ears perked as he scented the air again, "Hey, do you two smell the smoke anymore? I think the scent of it is gone."

Starrylight let out a gasp, "Oh, that's awful! But, should Spiderbite be at her side then? Why is he here?" She asked with a tilt of her head. The small she-cat looked comical wrapped around the almost full-grown apprentice, her son nearly the same size as her. Her belly did her no favors either, the weight of her kits making it hard for her to stay pressed against Palepaw. Cedarstar flicked his ear twice and his gaze lingered to his former mentor. He realized he never considered that Cliffheart still had connections in SkyClan. He knew Cliffheart's story better than most, but it always felt like Cliffheart didn't leave anything behind when he was chased out of SkyClan. But he left behind Spiritstar and Lavendersky. I couldn't imagine doing that to Kinkfire or Ashrock. Cedarstar took a deep breath. "Lavendersky wants to see Cliffheart one last time. They're still siblings, after all." Starrylight glanced down, nodding quietly. The words made her feel a deep sort of guilt, she had not been the kindest to Racoonmask and Cardinalblaze in many moons, perhaps it was time to mend the gap between them. "Are you going to send warriors to escort him then? I don't think Spiderbite and his escort will be able to manage Cliffheart alone."

Frigidshard was sitting straight up outside the medicine cat den entrance, grinning at every Shadowclan cat that looked at him, though his ear twitched with nerves. He couldn't let them know how unsettled he was to be standing in their camp alone.

Lionscorch shook his head slowly. “The flood probably finally washed away the last traces of it. If anything, that might be the only good thing out of this.” His eyes averted, breath deep as he grunted lightly. “After all that fire took from us, I can’t stand the scent of it.”
Honeycrest watched Frigidshard unabashedly, eyes betraying nothing but a silent observation as he tried to gauge the seriousness of the Skyclan Cats’ situation. The young Warrior narrowed his eyes ever so slightly, as unblinking as Goldberry’s, and just as icy blue, calculating. After a moment, he merely flicked an ear as Crystalsight slipped past him, far more polite and gentle than her brother.
“You’re Frigidshard, right?” She asked him lightly, glancing at the den with gentle concern. “Is everything alright?…”

Frigidshard's demeanor seemed to change slightly as Crystalsight approached, though his eyes kept going back toward Honeycrest's unrelenting stare. "Yeah, I'm Frigidshard. I escorted Spiderbite here, he has an urgent request for Cedarstar and Snowdance. What can I call a pretty she-cat like you?"

I escorted Spiderbite here, he has an urgent request for Cedarstar and Snowdance. What can I call a pretty she-cat like you?" Honeycrest’s eyes narrowed darkly now, overhearing the Skyclan tom’s blatant flirtation with his sister. He looked ready to stand and storm over, yet Crystalsight’s faint quirk of her muzzle stopped him. That, and remembering Coalhaze’s anger when he tried to help him during their assessment reminded him that maybe he didn’t need to constantly protect his littermates. Crystalsight took the words in stride, her pale eyes flashing with a hint of humor and surprise. “That’s… bold to say, right in camp. It’s not going to be returned, I’d like not to be banished, but. Crystalsight. It’s a new name, I’m still getting used to it, but it’s about as nice as yours.” She returned with a gentle chime of laughter. Not used to such boldness, she did seem to flick her pale gaze away before training it right back on him, just as unblinking as Honeycrest’s.

Frigidshard laughed, his shoulders relaxing some of their tension knowing that the she-cat didn't take it too seriously. "Crystalsight, it's a beautiful name. Cedarstar must be pretty good at the whole warrior ceremony thing then. That looming tom back there, is he your brother? You got them same eyes." Frigidshard leaned around Crystalsight, giving Honeycrest a wink. "He's pretty handsome himself."

Honeycrest lifted his brow at the sight of Frigidshard’s wink, and while he certainly was not blind to the tom’s attractiveness, Honeycrest was no easy cat to impress. He lifted his muzzle a bit, haughty and elegant as if to return the confidence tenfold. Crystalsight released a laugh, light and airy, as she mewed. “Oh yes. That’s Honeycrest. My other brother is Coalhaze, his eyes are much prettier than mine. We get our eyes from our-“ She cut off, suddenly seeming to remember something. Eyes flicking to the side, she cleared her throat, her voice a bit lighter as she quickly rectified her near mistake. Skyclan cats did not seem to like her father. It was very clear at every gathering. So, she continued. “-our mother. I like to think.” Quickly, she changed the subject and humored. “Oh! Aha! Honeycrest is choosy. You might not meet his requirements he sets for toms he likes, but I’m sure he knows you’ve got a charmer’s face.” She complimented, honest yet respectful of boundaries.

Spiderbite followed after Snowdance with Cedarstar taking up the rear to keep an eye on the medicine cat. Eaglesight stood up from his place at Cliffheart's side when the group entered the den. He narrowed his eyes on Spiderbite, but Spiderbite ignored him. "StarClan, have mercy," Spiderbite flattened his ears when he saw Cliffheart's state. "The timing couldn't be worse." He helped himself to Cliffheart's side to assessed Snowdance's treatment of the tom. He didn't know what he expected to find, Snowdance's capabilities were unmatched. "His wounds aren't bleeding. They look like they're starting to scab and heal. Based on this, I would've expected him to wake up by now." Icefire15”At this point, I believe it will be up to him if he wakes up or not.” Snowdance said, turning her gaze away from her patient to look at Spiderbite. Cliffheart’s coma did have her concerned, especially now that his injuries had started to heal. “With the state that he is now, I’m afraid that he isn’t strong enough to make the trip back to the SkyClan camp with you.”

Sunstrike nodded, "I agree with Lionscorch, the smell of the fire is unbareable," He parted his jaws, taking in the finnally smoke-less sent of ShadowClan territory, "If the smell is gone, and the flood is over, maybe some prey will return," he commented, then turned his gaze back to the deeper part of the forest, "We might as well try there, hopefully there'll be something." (No need to apoligize XD I've heard collage and grad school are pretty difficult and I am not excited at all to eventually go lol)

Thistlestalk flexed his claws as they padded into the thicker pine trees. "I hope you're right. Green-leaf is coming to an end and no one has really gotten the chance to fatten up for leafbare. I already worry that Poppyflame might kit in the middle of a snow storm or something, I can't imagine watching my kits go hungry." he mewed his voice laced with worry for his mate and unborn kits.

She knew her brother though, and knew deep down that he was way more hurt by Opalmist’s banishment then he was angry at her. But his dedication to Cedarstar was absolute, and Crystalsight couldn’t blame him for being a good Warrior. She looked back at Frigidshard and admitted. “Sometimes a love like that, it’s not meant to stay in the Clans. Some cats say that Spiritstar banished Frostyfoot out of mercy, not out of anger. Is it rude of me to ask you if you think that was the case?” She asked carefully.

I think I have everyone except Snowdance open) (Bet) Vulturekit seemed to inspect the newly rebuilt nursery with a hint of exasperation as he complained to Leopardshadow. “The pinecone is missing. That big one that I liked a whole bunch. I don’t like this new nursery…” Goldberry looked for Swirlheart, wondering if she was overworking herself as she tended to do. He felt a rush of love for her, ever so grateful that she was there in his life.

“Then we’ll get you another pinecone. I’m sure there will be plenty soon enough.” Leopardshadow told her kit, finishing making up their new nest. “You’ll get used to it soon enough, Vulturekit.”
Skullkit glanced around the nursery a bit, honestly glad to see that it was a bit bigger now. Maybe with a little more space, the nursery wouldn’t feel as crowded to him anymore.
Swirlheart groomed her fur quietly, taking a break from helping fix up the remaining damages to the camp.

He then looked out at the entrance and at the working Clan. “Is it true? Are Stormfury and Moonpetal really gone?” He mewed quietly, as though asking his mother a super secret. Goldberry spotted Swirlheart and padded over to her, his eyes heavy with loss as he sighed softly. “Leaffrost is still consoling Ratmask. I didn’t expect… To know the prey-maulers are near the Moonstone, it’s concerning.” He admitted.

So slow that the other clans might not even notice? Might not even help ?

”At this point, I believe it will be up to him if he wakes up or not.” Snowdance said, turning her gaze away from her patient to look at Spiderbite. Cliffheart’s coma did have her concerned, especially now that his injuries had started to heal. “With the state that he is now, I’m afraid that he isn’t strong enough to make the trip back to the SkyClan camp with you.” Spiderbite frowned and he kneaded his paws in betrayal of his anxiousness. "He has to wake up. He has to come back. Lavendersky is dying. He's the one cat she wants to see before she goes to StarClan." Spiderbite paced around Cliffheart, looking over his injuries as if he might have missed what was causing the older warrior to be unconscious. "Come on," he hissed through gritted teeth. "There has to be an explanation." When he continued to see nothing that indicated Cliffheart's unconsciousness, Spiderbite suddenly shoved the tom. "Wake up, bird-brain, your sister needs you!" Cedarstar stood up. Spiderbite's shove was harmless. It only moved Cliffheart's shoulder, but Cedarstar felt defensive just the same. "Spiderbite," he mewed in stern warning. Spiderbite snorted and didn't even look back at Cedarstar. "Maybe...it's a mental thing?" He perked up. "Yeah, that's the next conclusion Lavendersky would come to. Maybe he doesn't want to wake up?" He suddenly flattened his ears as another thought entered his mind, a paranoia that was creeping through SkyClan currently. "He..." Spiderbite glanced at Snowdance. "He doesn't walk the Dark Forest, does he?" Cedarstar's pelt bristled. "Cliffheart overcame the Dark Forest, don't accuse him of treading there."

Longpaw hissed at Brittlefoot's refusal. He roughly passed another bramble to his mentor. This is stupid, he grumbled to himself. No one is ever going to see my worth if I'm stuck with mundane jobs like this one.Whorlpaw trailed at the back of the patrol. Her tail dragged against the ground and she couldn't lift her head up. Though the chances were slim, she held hope of finding her mentor alive. Brittlefoot seemed to breathe out gently, his sternness melting away quickly as he moved to continue working on the dens. He opened his jaws for a moment, before he closed them again. What was the right thing to say, for a cat like Longpaw? Inwardly, he grimaced at how similar they were, or at least how much he used to be like Longpaw back then. Why was it so much harder to do this when he had gone through it himself? In what world did that make sense? The other mentors made it look so easy. Stubbornly, he refused to let himself wallow. If he failed this, then it would only prove every cat’s inate doubt in him right. And that? He refused to let that happen. So, he weaved the material in, and spoke simply. “Do this for a while with me, and I promise we can go hunting, or learn more battle moves… You might need to find another hole in the camp wall though. Your old one is… ah, not here anymore.” Cardinalblaze bit his lip once, though he felt his stomach clench as they approached the camp entrance. He lifted his head, eyes catching with Spiderfang as she guarded the entrance. The older she-cat eyed Stormfury and her fiery eyes drooped with stony acceptance and loss. She rumbled once. “Come on in. Spiderbite came in from Skyclan. Cedarstar and Snowdance are talking with him, but this’ll take precedent now…” Longpaw mildly frowned at the reminder that his favorite hiding place was gone. Though, he supposed he could pick anywhere to do his battle training. It wasn't like anyone would go looking for him no matter where he went. He passed Brittlefoot another bramble, not acknowledging the older tom's words. He didn't exactly want the rest of the Clan to know he'd been practicing. His hope of showing off his skill when it counted seemed dashed at the thought. Whorlpaw blinked up at Spiderfang. Spiderbite was there? How come? She flattened her ears as she looked back at her mentor's body. She didn't like the idea of SkyClan seeing him like this. Ashrock stood up when he saw Cardinalblaze's patrol return. His face fell stoic at the sight of Stormfury's body. Cedarstar won't take this well, He glanced over at the medicine den and sighed. Ashrock lifted his paw to take a step to help Cherryvine, but then thought better of it. She didn't like him much. He doubted she would accept his assistance.

Settling back into the pattern of den building, Brittlefoot took Longpaw’s silence with as much victory as he could muster. Inwardly, he felt a heavy weight of an old inkling that struck his heart. While he refused to give up, why had Cedarstar assigned him Longpaw? Was it because he believed in Brittlefoot, or was it a way to push two unremarkable cats together and away from everyone else?
He shook the old bitterness away, scolding himself for entertaining such a thought. He wasn’t a kit anymore, all the cats who would have shamed him for his condition were long dead. Instead, he pulled the bramble tight, only to glance at the camp entrance and release a heavy breath. There, was Stormfury’s body, draped over Cherryvine’s back. He closed his eyes, mewing hoarsely. “When will it end…”
Spiderfang guided the patrol into camp, glancing at Whorlpaw as she gave a rasping mew. “Settle him in the center of camp for vigil. I’ll go get Cedarstar.” She slipped over towards the medicine den, ears flicking sharply.
“No…” Coalhaze mewed, eyes drooping and voice thick with sadness as he saw Stormfury’s body be carried into camp. The large tom looked down, knowing this would be a hard blow for Vixenflame as well.
Honeycrest turned to look over at Whorlpaw, his eyes betraying a heavy sympathy that extended to Stormfury. He looked at the dead Warrior, breathing in as he silently prayed Starclan would treat the tom well. He moved to silently approach the patrol, not saying a word but offering his support to Whorlpaw all the same.

Longpaw stilled when the patrol returned with Stormfury's body. He flicked his gaze to Cherryvine and Whorlpaw and the deputy. He always heard great things about Stormfury despite his rabbit-chaser origins. It was hard to believe he was gone.
Littlemoon slowly padded over to Cardinalblaze and Cherryvine. She didn't say anything, but she dipped her head to let them know she'd offer her assistance if she wanted it.
Whorlpaw didn't have the heart to look at anyone in the camp. She didn't know what was going to happen now that she didn't have a mentor. She didn't want to see the looks of sympathy from the other apprentices. She felt guilty for the heavy weight of Stormfury's loss in her heart. She knew that Cherryvine and her kits had it worse. I need to be brave, Whorlpaw told herself. Like mother and father would be. Yet, every time she looked at Stormfury's body, her heart broke. He was a fun mentor...

“Change of plans.” Brittlefoot murmured lightly. “We’ll sit vigil. I’ll take you out tomorrow for some hunting. I have a feeling that alot of the Clan will be struck hard by this.” He blinked, inwardly hoping Longpaw would never have to see him dead, to have to ever one day help find his body like Whorlpaw had to for Stormfury.
Cardinalblaze gave Cherryvine space to move Stormfury, his eyes trailing to Littlemoon as the she-cat silently offered her assistance. The deputy gave a heavy yet appreciative look, stepping aside to speak to her. “I know it might be best to have hope with things like this, but…” He trailed off with a light breath. It was clear the deputy was exhausted, physically and emotionally, though he kept his voice steady and soft. “I’ll have to report everything. And I know everyone’s going to ask about it. I guess I’m glad we at least could find him, even if he’s with Starclan now.”
Honeycrest gazed at Whorlpaw once more, before he mutely looked down at Stormfury. He eyed the nursery with a small sigh, knowing thw worst part was to come, when the kits realized their father was gone.
“Cedarstar.” Spiderfang mewed bluntly as she pushed her way into the medicine den. She paused as she saw them gathered around Cliffheart, her orange eyes burning with grim disdain as she cleared her throat. “The patrol has returned…”
