(Anyone can interact with Cedarstar if anyone wants, he's just going to get moss.)
Scorchfire waited for everyone to gather.

Stonesong's ears dropped and headed after. She moved to the medicine cat den to drop off the herbs.
Oakstalk flicked his tail. "You're going to want to confuse me, use your speed and your size to roll under my belly."

Sandflower padded over to Scorchfire. "Where are we going?" She asked, drawing a paw around her ear.

“I never said that, Ratmask.” Snowdance said with a sigh, stepping back from treating his paw, “You’re done.” She added, letting him go.

Ratmask snorted. "Got that right." He got up and left, able to pull his full weight on his wound since his paws were frozen..
Ashrock glanced at Ratmask when the younger warrior shoved his way out of the medicine den. He looked back at Snowdance, setting the borage down in front of her. "I thought I'd go fetch these after we were so rudely interrupted by those rogues." He motioned over to the herbs that Stonesong carried. "Are those the catmint you were trying to find?"
"To the twoleggedplace to fetch the prey from Gregory and Shimmer." Scorchfire replied calmly. "Cloudscar isn't sure if anyone has gotten it yet. I figured we could mark the borders while we're out there as well."

"You're going to want to confuse me, use your speed and your size to roll under my belly." “Confuse you? Sounds simple enough.” Honeypaw snarked. He began bouncing side to side, eyes darting in different places, hiding his true landing plan.

Leaffrost gave Snowdance a sweet smile, as though pardoning Ratmask’s words. “Thank you, Snowdance. I’ll make sure he keeps it healthy.” She thanked, scampering after him.

Ratmask went back over to the elder's den, he paused and stared up at it, wanting to work on it more, but the cold had gotten to his core, his was violently shivering and he was getting to the point that it even hurt to move.

Sandflower nodded. "Oh good. Probably a good idea to have a larger patrol....who knows what those rogues are planning." She rolled her eyes. Even though they had been chased off the territory, non-clan cats were always unpredictable.

Leaffrost followed her mate in. She looked at Ratmask now and gave a stern pout. “Alright. I’m putting my paw down. In the nest. No moving until I’ve warmed you so much that you’re overheated, you got it?”

Snowdance shook her head as Ratmask left. She blinked in surprise when Ashrock padded in with the herbs that they had left behind, “Yes, that’s the catmint.” She said, nodding, “Thank you, Ashrock, Stonesong.” She stood up and accepted the herbs from the two warriors and moved it over to her herb store.

(I realize my announcement for the news is very blunt and bold, but I worked really hard on the page and would appreciate if people at least glanced at it.) Tumblepaw glanced over at Sproutpaw, but again his gaze flicked from the warrior's den to the leader's den and back again. "I...I don't know." He shifted in hesitation, a rare thing for him to have. "Northstar was the one who welcomed me into the Clan...what if Cedarstar kicks me back out again?" "Why would Cedarstar do that?" Sproutpaw asked quizzically. He couldn't understand the logic behind such a decision, especially with such an emotionally-charged environment. There would be even greater unrest among the clan. "I think he'd be rather mousebrained if he did. How would a new leader look by immediately going against the late leader's decisions?" The furry brown tabby sat beside Tumblepaw, absently batting the snow in front of him. "Besides, it's not like you've done anything to deserve getting kicked out. The way I see it...it doesn't matter whose blood is in your veins, but your actions as a cat that makes you you." Sproutpaw squinted up at the bright white sky, watching his breath float away into the clouds.

Scrochfire nodded in agreement with Sandflower. "Alright, everyone." He looked to each member of the patrol. "Let's head out." With a flick of his, he padded off toward the camp entrance.
Ratmask was shivering too much to argue with her, his teeth even rattled like the drop of sparrow bones. With stiff and trembling movements, he followed Leaffrost back into the elder's den.
Ashrock flicked his tail when Snowdance accepted the herbs. "What else do you need me to do?"
"Well," Tumblepaw shrugged uneasily. "Everyone seems so tense now that Northstar is gone. No one seems to believe it actually happened. And..." He flicked his ear, glancing at Sproutpaw. "You know I arrived here with Goldberry after his exile...I heard the stories...what if Cedarstar thinks I don't belong here like Northstar did?"

Snakesong slipped out after Scorchfire, the soft-spoken and ragged she-cat mewed. “I’m amazed that prey seems to be rich still in twolegplace...”
Leaffrost waited until Ratmask was in their nest before she carefully curled around him, making sure her fur was pressed all around him.

"Kittypets get fed by twolegs," Scrochfire shrugged easily. "Guess that leaves a bunch of prey just laying around with nothing to eat it.
Ratmask curled up tight, shivering like a leaf on a tree. he buried his nose under his whiplike tail and tightly tucked his paws under his bare chest, ears flattened back against the harsh of the cold.
Cedarstar padded back into camp with a bundle of moss in his jaws. He glanced around the camp, making sure that no one needed him or that he wasn't forgetting anything, but it didn't even seem like the Clan had missed him. With a flick of his ear, he started back toward the leader's den, dreading the thought of going back inside of it.

Snakesong shuddered lightly. “Ugh...fed by twolegs...I’d rather eat crowfood.” She shook her head and flicked her kinked tail.
Leaffrost rested her head gently on Ratmask’s shoulders, eyeing the small patches of scraggly fur she loved so much. She hated how cold he got, wishing she could take away his troubles.
“Need any help?” Lynxdapple approached Cedarstar with heavy eyes. Even so, his body poised with his usual friendliness. It was clear the tiny silver warrior was thinking about things.

Sandflower nodded in agreement. "I don't know how they can stand being cooped up in the twoleg nest eating slop all day." She shook out her pelt, disgusted by the thought.

Scorchfire twitched his whiskers in amusement, but nodded in agreement.
(Lol take away his troubles, you mean give him fur? xD)
Cedarstar blinked when the older warrior padded up. He flicked his ear, with his mouth full of moss it was hard to give the tom a reply and he didn't really want to place it in the snow and get it all cold and wet. So, he just rather awkwardly just stood there with the moss in his mouth. He didn't want to deny the tom's assistance, knowing Lynxdapple as the reliable sort around camp, but he also didn't need help building a nest.

Pinefeather trailed after the patrol, staying quiet as they walked. She glanced around at the marsh, wondering if there was any prey left to catch.
Stonesong dropped off the herbs and turned to leave, not wanting to get Ashrock in trouble.

Snakesong nodded lightly, eyeing the snowwy territory and sighing at the insistent cold.
Lynxdapple looked at Cedarstorm with a flicker of sympathetic humor. “Guess it wasn’t wise of me to ask you with your mouth full. If you’re going to be in the leader’s den, you’re going to want more than just moss. The few times I’ve been allowed it, it’s awfully drafty at times. At the very least, let me get you some feathers or marsh grass.” He had a knowing look.

(( oh goodness... ))
Yarrowbloom's ears were pinned pack with sadness as she trudged through the snow. Her heart felt like it had dropped into her stomach since Cedarstar's passing, and with the leafbare season things only seemed much bleaker. She was lucky enough to have found a finch sheltered in an evergreen bush, and a young squirrel that was dumb enough to stray from its nest. In this weather, any fresh-kill was greatly appreciated, no matter its size. Slipping into camp, she padded to the fresh kill, glancing at Cinderspeck on her way there. He looked sad and hungry. Frowning, she picked the finch back up and approached him with it. "You look like you could use a bite," she frowned, dropping it at his paws. "It looks like everyone could."
Sproutpaw sulked by the entrance to the apprentices' den, watching the flakes fall slowly from the sky. He noticed Tumblepaw slowly becoming blanketed with snow, and thought it odd that the tom didn't flick a whisker. He padded up to his denmate, slightly concerned. "Hey..." he muttered. "Are you...doing OK?" "Oh," Cinderspeck looked up in surprise at Yarrowbloom's sudden appearance. "No... the queens need it more than me. I just wish there was a way I could make everything better." he admitted, fluffing out his fur. The cold didn't worry him, but the lack of prey certainly did. "Nice catches."

Scorchfire slowed the patrol when they grew closer to the twoleggeplace, his tail flicking in signal for the patrol to be cautious.
Cedarstar flicked his ear again, not wanting to trouble Lynxdapple, but the tom was offering his assistance without even being asked. He nodded slowly, flicking his tail a little awkwardly to tell the warrior that he'd be in the leader's den.
Ashrock nodded slowly, a small smile curling his lip. "I'd like that."

"Yeah, its pretty nice." Cloudflight replied, "Its hard to watch your mate training while you just wander around camp." She joked. "Sproutpaw's doing pretty good, he's a quick learner," she said proudly. "But he does have a bit of a temperament." “Well, now we can train our apprentices together.” Cardinalblaze chuckled, cuffing her ear gently in teasing. “I have faith in your patience. You’ll train Sproutpaw well!” "I sure hope I do, otherwise poor Sproutpaw will be bumbling about with horrible skills that I taught him." Cloudflight purred laughingly, turning to watch Sproutpaw interacting with Tumblepaw. "But even if I was a bad mentor, he'd probably still end up a great warrior. He's doing amazing already. It'll be fun training our apprentice's together." She added.

Lynxdapple nodded and padded off quickly. Within a few moments, he had returned with some grass he had dried in the warrior’s den, as well as a few feathers beside it. He pushed into the leader’s den, a humorous sight of the small tom pulling in long grasses.
Cardinalblaze purred to his mate. “Vixenpaw is progressing wonderfully. She’ll soon be getting up there to start really advanced moves. I’d love for her and Sproutpaw to practice together.”

Cedarstar barely even started making his nest when Lynxdapple entered the leader's den, his fur was a bit ruffled and pawed at the nest with thoughts distracting his mind.
Ashrock dipped his head gratefully to Snowdance, he padded over to Stonesong, perking up a bit and he even smirked. "Hungry?"

Lynxdapple placed the material down, gazing at Cedarstar with quiet thought. He looked around and took a breath, Northstar’s scent beginning to dull. He exhaled and looked back at his new leader. “Soon, this den will be filled with your scent. Starrylight can join you once your kits get their apprenticeships, and you’ll find comfort in your mate. She won’t expect the world to bend to your paws...Cedarstar, I know how much most of us don’t want to ever hear or admit, but you don’t have to hesitate to ask for help, or for advice. Or just companionship.”

Cedarstar flattened his ears, Lynxdapple's words pulling him from his thoughts. He glanced around the den, appearing unease at the thought of his scent replacing Northstar's. "I appreciate that, Lynxdapple." His voice was rather dry and guarded of the emotion he felt. "But tell me." He glanced back at the warrior. "If Northstar had made you her deputy and she died before you even got your paws beneath you, would you still be able to carry the optimism, you've always had?"
