I had signed up for this very cool LGBT+ Percy Jackson roleplay the day before the announcement of forums closing, and the owner decided not to recreate it here. Personally, I'm not up to creating a rp from scratch right now, but I would still love to use one or two of the characters I had created, posted below. As mentioned earlier, it was a LGBT+ rp, and all my characters are on the spectrum. If that's not your thing, you might be better off finding a different plot place. Also, you don't have to fill out a giant long form like I had! If you're interested, just let me know which character or characters you want me to use in a rp, then we'll brainstorm a plot!
Emerson Spencer || 17 || Morpheus || Demisexual
Non-binary, isn't quite sure where they land on the romantic spectrum. But they digress. They don't care very much about their appearance, and one look at them can tell you that. Their hair, while fluffy and a nice shade of brown, almost always looks like Emerson has a bad case of bedhead (which more often than not is the case). Even when they brush it, it looks like that. Their eyes are steel blue, and they always have bags, from lack of sleep. They also are pale to the point where they almost look sickly- it's a little off-putting for new campers. Emerson is on the taller side, standing at six feet, and only thanks to the training at Camp Half Blood do they manage to have somewhat strong muscles. Otherwise, they'd be as skinny as a stick.
Contrary to their godly parentage, the god of dreams, Emerson rarely sleeps. They're an insomniac, and typically only sleeps for three or four hours a day. When they do sleep, they don't really dream either. They aren't sure why, but it probably has to do with their dad interfering for whatever reason. That being said, Emerson does have a pretty good idea about what dreams are like. Even if they haven't experienced it personally, they still can influence them with hypnokinesis. Part of the reason why Emerson can get by on so little sleep is because they learned how to use their power to give themself the best sleep possible in a short amount of time. Emerson doesn't have a lot of experience doing it for other people, as most campers would turn to the Hypnos cabin for situations like that, but when they're outside of camp, they sometimes practice on their unsuspecting sleeping family.
Because of the insomnia, they have taken up many hobbies to keep themself busy when they can't sleep. Campers will often see them running around camp, going from one activity to the next, to the next. Thankfully, Emerson has enough mental capacity to keep track of all the things they're working on, and almost has it down to a science. They're basically the person to go to with favors because Emerson will always 1. Have enough time to do it and 2. Despite the scruffy, loner appearance they got going on, Emerson actually loves to help others out. They're a pretty good listener too, even if their brain is always going a mile a minute, trying to keep track of everything that's going on.
Emerson was born to a single mother who lives back in NYC. When they were about 13, their mother adopted another child, a son who is as human as they come and doesn't have any idea about the world Emerson is a part of. After all, Morpheus isn't a particularly threatening god, so unlike many others at camp, their family has never been attacked. Emerson would prefer to keep it that way. || They are an archer, but also can handle a sword pretty well.
Autumn Bright || 16 || Eos || Lesbian
Demi-girl, uses she/her pronouns. She is as dark-skinned as they come, and her hair is orange like the sunrise, due to her godly parentage. This also applies to her eye color- a light gold that could be mistaken for brown. She almost always has her hair down, except when doing physical activities such as training, in which case she ties it back in a braid. Normally in the human world, she's self conscious about her appearance, but at camp, she knows there are stranger people than her, and it's comforting.
Like most others in her cabin, Autumn is an early riser. One can't really be a child of the dawn without it. Her typical morning includes getting up and ready at four thirty, making a pot of tea, then watching the sun rise from either outside her cabin or from the pier. Since she's up so early, she doesn't typically eat breakfast with the other campers, rather studying in her cabin or getting the training arena to herself to practice her atmokinesis. It works best in an open area, and since she doesn't want others to get hurt, she'll either work on it there or at the edge of the forest- it's not something that can be exactly practiced indoors. While this routine is very different from a typical camper's, Autumn still manages to hang out with other demigods. She's very friendly and approachable, and is always up to sharing a pot of tea. Some campers come to her with advice because of this, and also because she's so calm, in what would seem like an almost lazy way, if it wasn't for her getting up and getting so many things done early.
One would think her calm demeanor would end on the battlefield, but that isn't the case. She keeps a clear head throughout most challenges, and it's very hard to crack her in a fight. Taunting and fear tactics, unless magically induced, just don't work on her. Because of this, along with her courage inducement abilities, she makes for a wonderful second in command. Autumn doesn't have the true look, feel, or style of a leader, but she's supportive, strong, and knows how to keep her emotions under control to look at the bigger picture. While she is aware of this, she will never volunteer herself for a position of power. She thinks if she was really meant to be there, others will acknowledge it and vote her for positions like that instead.
Her family, while not magical, do tend to understand what's going on in the demigod world more often than not. Her father is an astronomer and meteorologist, so he helps her understand her powers sometimes, and her stepmother teaches Greek at a local university. Both of them are great resources for her. She also has two siblings, both younger than her and love to see what she can do with all that she learns from camp.|| Currently she's been using swords, shields, and the occasional lance, but she has been trying to use her powers in battle more effectively.
Kestrel Pines || 16 || Thantos || Asexual
Transwoman, and she's proud of it- as far as romantic orientations go, she doesn't think she should put a label on who she likes yet until she's more sure of herself. She didn't really have anyone else to support her, so she learned how to support herself. She stands at six feet two inches, and has broad, strong shoulders. Her hair is raven black, and she keeps it short in a pixie cut. Her eyes are dark gray, and she almost always wears a leather jacket. It may be a little cliche for a child of someone from the Underworld, but it's comfortable, and it hides the fact that her chest is completely flat. She doesn't exactly feel the end to make herself pass as biological female at camp, but the human world is a different story.
While Thantos isn't as known as Hades, their children are still strong. Kestrel, personally, has the power of blood manipulation. She generally uses it for healing, but has been practicing using it for shields and weapons. She does this in the privacy of her own cabin- not just because she, in general, is very private and closed off, but the sight of one's own blood outside of the body and transforming is not exactly the sort of thing every camper wants to see. Again, she does like her privacy, and is typically quiet. In general, she has a mysterious vibe about her, and seems unapproachable. She isn't quite sure how to act around others- yes, the years in the orphanage gives her an idea of how to act around others, but as for connecting and actually forming friendships, that seems to escape her. After all, there's no escaping the fact that she is Death's daughter, the one actually responsible for killing humans and bringing them to the Underworld. Not exactly the kind of person you would want to have dinner with.
She was placed in the adoption system at a young age, which would have been fine if she didn't have a knack for getting into trouble. Not only that, but after the trouble, she'd normally get injured, but then she get healed back up again. No one was quite sure how she did it, or what to do about it. Once she got the label of the weird kid, it got harder for her to find foster families. Thankfully, a satyr in the system found her and took her to camp, but she often thinks back to those times. What she might have had. The camp is great, but she's still a little on the outside of things, considering her heritage and blood powers. || A classic scythe, in honor of her dad. She also knows how to use battle axes and throwing knives. Because of her power she always has a knife of some kind on her, in order to activate it.
Blake Collins || 17 || Herma || Bisexual
Thanks to his Spanish heritage, he has a lovely brown skin and warm brown eyes. The real problem is his hair. It's tussled and brown and is at that length where it's too short to cut, but is just long enough to tickle the back of his neck and occasionally make it feel like something is crawling across his skin. The other problem is he's too stubborn to cut it. He's muscular, but short, standing at five feet four inches, making him look a little more awkward than he would like- he'd much rather look cool at all times, to impress demigods of all genders. He only recently came out as bi, so it's almost as if he's making up for lost time.
One thing that most campers know about Blake is his stubbornness. He's easy to rile up, and never backs down. It's not exactly pleasant, but he can't help it. He's defensive because he's scared. He might not come from a very powerful goddess, but his ability is oxygen manipulation, which can be pretty powerful, especially when you can't control it. Blake is terrified of his own abilities, and has absolutely no clue what to do about it. No one can really teach him how to control it, and he doesn't know where to begin learning it on his own. It could be smart to contact some child of Athena or Hecate about it, but he doesn't have the courage. Right now he's in limbo, scared of his abilities but thirsting for the power it could give him. More than anything, Blake wants to prove himself.
One of the reasons why Blake can't take the first step to controlling his power is because of endangering his family. Once when he was younger and first discovering who he truly was, there was an attack at his school- another local demigod, if you can believe it. He never learned who they were, but they're the one who set off the chain of events that sent Blake to Camp Half Blood. When seeing the monster on the prowl, he accidentally started a small fire that he couldn't control. One of his brothers with him almost got injured. Blake has been worried ever since.|| Blake knows how to how a sword and, surprisingly, weighted nets.
