Bramblestar: I don't mean that I was an effective leader or that I matched his skill, only that I ripped away all of Firestar's lives at once, just as Scourge did to my father and that it was a cruel act, as any act Scourge would have committed.

Leafpool: Their way of life is so similar to ThunderClan's and yet so different, what with the tunneling, although I don't know how much of this to attribute to Onestar or to the fact that the lake is a new home for everyone. I think it would have been fascinating to visit and learn about them. However, my time there was...tainted by my prisoner status. I don't think I will ever be able to forgive the cats responsible for that.

Leafpool: I am amazed he managed to lead a coherent Clan. I am also amazed that he was once a cat Firestar could befriend. He is a bad leader and a worse cat.

Leafpool: Some of them, maybe. I did enjoy Morningflower's company. The thing is, ThunderClan was pretty accepting of other cats--like that time we let Cody stay. WindClan really wasn't like that. Half the Clan didn't even want my kits, newborn kits born in their territory while I was under their control! So I might not have had the chance to befriend anyone if I hadn't been forced to live with them.

1. oh wow I'm sorry I didn't see your response! 2. if you want me to tell you: I left Jayfeather's name alone (the words go together, and he's named for his father, so it works out)
Lionblaze is Lionstorm (sounds more like Lion's Roar, and what are the chances his name would have been the same)
Dovewing's replacement is Dawnstream (Dawn River plus dawn=sun=warm and she brought the water back) 3. spoilers for Shattered Sky as it relates to the possibility of a sequel given the potential title I had in my mind for the sequel series, Shattered Sky has made it all the more likely! I was thinking of calling it Smoke Without Fire and considering making a Smokepaw who was named for Firestar an important character (I mean, we already have Cinderstar and Ashstar, why not a Smokepaw!)
I still want to wait until AVOS ends--since I'm trying to change very little of what happened before the climax of Sunset, as well as the general idea of what's happened to SkyClan since they'd be unaffected up until now, I need to see what's going on beyond the scope of the lake Clans, including backstories and all the villains and so on…
I was thinking of making it more about RiverClan, but--here's where the spoilers come in--turns out Darktail was the son of Onestar and a…rogue? loner? kittypet? named Smoke (once it gets added to the wiki I'll know more)
of course, in my series, Onestar is dead…
but that gives Darktail a reason to specifically hate WindClan more than the other Clans, so maybe it'll turn out to be convenient that AtA was set in WindClan!
again we'll have to wait and see, and I'm not 100% set on writing this thing, but the name sure is convenient |
