Thea chuckled at the elf's comment. She was kind of funny actually, a little creepy but still a bit humorous. "Not a lot of things like humans. Some humans don't even like humans." Thea smiled, thinking of how true that was. She was one of those humans who did not like other humans. She hated her parents at times, and the other bit of time she was not arguing with them she did not speak. Sometimes Thea wished she was adopted so they can give her back to an orphanage. It almost sounded better than arguing all the time. That was one thing Alden did not know. Are elf parents any better? Maybe this girl was up for a trade. If not Thea might have to put a 'for sale' sign on her parents back in Termina. Thea relaxed more, assuming this girl was more bark than bite. Even if her bark was intimidating. "What else lives out here anyway? I haven't been too far in." She asked, trying to sound a little friendlier.

Mystery had to force his heart-rate to remain even while walking through the town at night. It seems he still felt an aching nervousness around even the possibility of coming into contact with someone of his old kingdom. He knew this was a town that served as a main trade point between this kingdom and his old one. He wondered if since it had been close to ten years, if he could return. He would love to see his home-land again, as evidence that he refused to go that far away from it. He cursed his younger self for pulling this stunt, if he could safely return what he stolen from the treasury, then he would. The only problem now was that the artifact he stole was his only magical artifact at this time. He couldn't channel his magic any other way, and his old was was lost somewhere in the river, back in his home-land. It was hard to come by these artifacts, anyways, it wasn't like they were just laying somewhere for anyone to find, it normally took years of searching, or knowledge of where one is located, to be able to find one. At this time, he only wanted to return home.

As the conversation continued between Thea and whatever was up in the tree, Alden couldn't do anything except sigh. There was almost no stopping Thea and her rebellious nature. "Well, if you wanna go ahead and get into major trouble of possibly multiple kinds, i'm not gonna stop you," Alden said. He was quite sure that Thea knew he couldn't do anymore for her. "I'll see you tommorow morning..." *turns around* "...hopefully." At that, he then starts walking back toward their house, eyes gazing at the forest soil. Even if he wanted to turn around and try to convince Thea to come back with him, he couldn't. He had a job, so he had to leave quite early in the morning.

Thea let a small smile come across her face as well as a slightly confused arch of her brow. She did not know what lurked out here either besides elves apparently now. What do the rest look like? Are they giants? Fairies? Termina rebels? All seemed intriguing. "You are the first thing out here I've seen that is not an animal. But since you live out here, what things have you seen?" She asked back. She hoped this girl was not just messing with her. Thea looked back to see if Alden was still where he was. And thankfully, he was gone. She trusted he would not tattle on her, but with Alden, you could never be sure. She turned back to the elf girl. Did elves have siblings or was there a law that told them they can not? Then again, why would someone need laws out here, in this forbidden woods. Wait, maybe there was a village out here. An empire hidden from the rest of the world. That would definitely give Thea a reason to sneak out.

Belle had been closing up her family's shop for hopefully the last time tonight. It was almost routine going back into the store multiple times because her mother forgot things. Whether it be papers, hats, her youngest child...Bell's mother has lost it all. She sighed, Belle loved her mother, but she wondered if she was getting too old for this job. Belle ran her fingers through her dark brown hair. It went to the middle of her back and took the shape of ringlets. Her hair was what Belle loved most about herself. She brushed off the dust on her knee length blue dress and headed to the direction of South Termina. That was where most of the housing area were. Her blue eyes were not focused on the road ahead, but on the ground. Belle had a tendency to do that whenever she was thinking. Again, she thought about her mother. Belle could relieve so much of the stress she had to deal with if her mother would only pass it on to her. Of course she knew she never would, she had always been as stubborn as a mule. It was because Belle was not paying attention to where she was going that caused her to bump into someone. She nearly fell back on her rear, but Belle was able to plant her feet and only stumble a few steps back. "I'm so sorry! I didn't see you!" Belle exclaimed, finding her carelessness appalling.

Mystery took a step back when suddenly something stopped his walk, in that moment his heart started to race. He wondered who it was, what they were doing, and most importantly if they knew him. He took the few seconds he had before she spoke to get a good look at the girl who bumped into him. Her hair was a shade darker then his, it looked a lot more interesting then his dull, single tone, looks-like-it-was-painted-on hair. She also had the fact her eyes were a different color then her hair, giving her another layer of color. He thanked himself for deciding not to wear his robes out tonight, instead he wore his day-to-day clothes. Despite how much more comfortable he was in them, paranoia had made him decide otherwise. "I can see that" Mystery silently put his hand in a small pouch that held 'his' artifact, still having not decided if this girl would harm him or not.

Belle took a better look at the stranger before her. His hair was lighter than her's and he looked better dressed than what one would expect for someone being out at midnight. She had not changed out of her day clothes since she kept on having to go back to the store to fetch things. Honestly, she felt like a dog. "I'm so clumsy sometimes, maybe because it's late my feet and head won't cooperate." Belle began to rub her temples with her fingers, like she was thinking or trying to get rid of a headache. Her eyes were closed as she did so, but then Belle opened them and looked back up again at the stranger. "I'm Belle by the way. And you are...?" She held out her hand for him to shake it. She was very sociable, and did not like not knowing people's names. It made her feel rude whenever she had to say 'you' or something to that extent. Her worst fear would to be alone though. She hated the silence, and looked over her shoulder at every little creak that the house made. Or if someone was just passing by at night, their footsteps echoing. Forget physical torture, putting her by herself would drive her crazy faster.

Mystery frowned a bit, he felt like he should ask her if she was alright, rubbing her temple like that. Maybe this was how she made her feet and head cooperate, as she put it-maybe it was a form of magic? He started to more closely look at her, looking for any sign of an artifact for her to be able to use the same type of magic he does, nope, doesn't look like it. Maybe it was another form, like how certain creatures can just use their very biology to do all sorts of different things. He was a bit tripped up when she asked for his name, there had only been one person who asked for his name since he started learning magic, so he had forgotten it over the years. He had even told that person it was a mystery, hence they started calling him 'mystery' that would be good enough, right? "Just call me Mystery" He decided a full explanation on why wasn't needed to be spoken aloud.

The corners of Belle's mouth went up into a small smile when the mystery man told her what the call him. One brow arched in confusion and her eyes glittered with curiosity. Mystery. That was an odd name. Maybe his parents had no clue what to name him. That could be the case, and she was tempted to ask, but she decided against it. "Mystery you say? That's a first for me. I assume you get the same reaction often?" She asked, studying him. Was he hiding something? He seemed like the mysterious type. Belle was in open book, she could not keep a secret to save her life. She had always been this way, from childhood crushes to family secrets, it was hard for her to keep her mouth shut. Belle figured that was why her family never told her anything important anymore. Not that she minded, less stress for Belle in keeping a secret.

"No, actually" Mystery for once knew exactly what he wanted to say right away, normally it took him a couple moments to gather his thoughts before saying anything "First time in ten years that someone asked for my name" And that ten years ago is when they started to call me Mystery. Regardless this being the first time he had spoken this name as an introduction, he wasn't surprised. Mystery was not a common name, who would name their child Mystery? Probably a family that hoped their child would be the 'cold, dark, mysterious, all the girls love him' kind of family-which was almost the opposite of him. Obviously he had to keep secrets to keep his head on his shoulders, sure he was cold when he was younger-but that was mostly in the past, so he was just a creepy guy that stayed home and rarely interacted with people in this town.

After what felt like walking for an eternity, Alden finally reached his house. Obviously, he couldn't walk through the front door. The front door is for stealth noobs. Instead, he climbed through his room window...although a little bit noisily. And a little bit means very much. 'Oh geeze...' Alden thought. After waiting to see if his parents were awake, nothing stirred for a whole 5 minutes. Assuming they were still asleep, he then quietly closed his window, crept into his bed and drifted off into sleep.

Belle did not hide surprised reaction she had to Mystery's response. All of those years alone, or at least not talking to anybody. How awful. Belle would surely die of a heart attack from her paranoia if she had to be alone for a year, let alone ten. "Ten years? No offense, but have you been hiding in a hole?" She smiled still but was a bit taken aback now. It was slightly suspicous why no one had asked for his name in ten years. He had to be hiding something. "How long has it been since you have had a conversation with someone?" Belle's gaze moved around the town square, well, it was more of a circle shape. She was making sure she knew where to run if this man had got any ideas. Her gaze would lock with his off and on as she kept glancing around. Should she just run back to the store? But something about Mystery peaked her intrests. She wanted to know what he was hiding. She wanted to know his secrets. And if Mystery was really his name.

Mystery frowned again, he couldn't deny that he had spent the last ten years hiding out to not get caught, but it wasn't like he was completely without 'human' interaction "I had a conversation with the baker today while buying bread, so I do talk to others" Granted that was almost all of his interactions, rarely he would get ones like that but even then he never gave his 'name' out. The less he is known in a town, the more likely he would be able to stay there longer till the paranoia that he would be found made him pack up and leave. Her looking around made him tense up. He followed where her eyes had just been, taking time to tell if someone was there or not. He thought he saw a shadow near one of the homes, but closer inspection revealed it was just a cat entering it's house for the night. He let out a sigh, realizing that there was no one around where she was looking-or at least they were really good at hiding.

Belle notice him frown as he thought. She liked looking for those certain things in people. Like what face they made when they were focused or if they tapped their foot when they were in a hurry, and things like that. "The baker? Aren't you the biggest gossip of this town?" She teased him, hoping he would not find offense in what she said. "Let me be more specific, when was the last time you had a conversation like this?" Belle asked, more focused on him as she waited on an answer from Mystery. Her head slightly cooked to the side, one of her habits when she was confused. Belle tucked a stray bit of dark hair behind her ear, she hated not looking collected. The rest of her family was the same way too. Her father mostly. If anything was out of order he would be there in moments to fix it. She concluded that that was why he was good at doing what he did, owning a buisness. Being organized was essential to make sure he has all of his papers and pay checks for employees.

Mystery's frown deepened, his eyebrows furrowing together. He tapped the artifact he had yet to take out of the pouch, making a small kink sound in the process. There was the time with the inn-keeper he...no that was mostly a small talk conversation. What about the time with, no that was just buying something and then a question on what he was planning on doing with the items. He kept thinking back and back through the conversations he had over the years till he got one he was satisfied with "I met a blacksmith apprentice about three years ago." He felt that was not that long ago, though the apprentice was probably a lot better at his work. He remembered what they were talking about, it started as a small lesson on infusing some items with magic and ended with the boy feeling a strong resolve to finish his training-after expressing his fears for not being a good blacksmith.

Belle was still surprised. Why has he not been out and about taking to people, enjoying life? He was an odd case indeed. Although, maybe the term 'case' was not the best word. Mystery was not a patient in a doctor's office. Those types for businesses were over on the east side of Termina "Why has it been so long though if you don't mind telling me?" She heard a small clink of what sounded like a metal or other hard object. It was in his pocket by the looks of it. Or somewhere near his pocket anyway. She was tempted to ask what he was holding but she was already asking a lot of questions and did not want to push it. She did that occasionally and deeply regretted it each time. Most people got scared and never spoke with her again. It was hard to keep it all under wraps though. She had a million questions and only one mouth. The struggle was real, but he would not seem to understand, he hardly talked to anyone at all evidently.

Now what would be the best explanation other then 'oh I stole something from the treasury of another kingdom and now I hide myself so I don't get caught and sent back to die'. Introvert? He really didn't talk like one other then the fact he doesn't often. He kept started using the pad of his finger to tap the artifact in his pouch after he realized how much noise he was making while still maintaining the motion. "I just don't, not to many opportunities come up day to day so I just end up not really having conversations" Close enough, granted he doesn't have many opportunities because he holes himself up from the rest of the world, but those were just the details.

(I'm going to bed soon so sorry if this is short)
"Do you want another chance to talk to someone? Like this I mean?" Belle wasn't too sure where she was going with this, but she would figure it out eventually. Maybe he was just a major introvert her hardly even looked at people. That sound though, what was it? The metal hitting something hard sound? It made her look back at his hand where she thought she heard the noise. She blinked every time he tapped it, mainly because the sound was hurting her ears slightly.

Thea listened intently as the elf girl spoke. She seems like a pretty closed up person when it came to talking to new people Thea was the same way. But today she could mix it up a little. It would they polite just to giver her her name "Yeah, they do. I wonder sometimes if they worry about something out here." She sighed and looked down at the the ground before back at the elf. She brightened up, "I'm Thea by the way." Wait, since when was Thea polite? She was rude to a lot of people. Thea has been banned from several places for her behavior and attitude, which to her is not surprising. Although, every time she thought about which places she was banned from, she could not help but smile. Especially at the fact that it made her mother angry or flustered. It seemed like she wants to giver her mother a hard time lately, and Thea has been keeping track of it.

The metal hitting something hard sound? It made her look back at his hand where she thought she heard the noise. She blinked every time he tapped it, mainly because the sound was hurting her ears slightly. Mystery was, in no way, prepared for her question. He wasn't used to seeing someone again after the initial meeting-in Belle's definition of meeting that is-and normally avoided them. Not that he disliked any of them, generally the few he had talked to had been nice, but it tied into him being very flighty from one town to the next. He took his hand out of his pouch-meanwhile his mind screaming at him for being careless-and instead started to tap his foot. It didn't take long before his habit got the better of him, and he started to tap the artifact from outside the pouch. He really couldn't figure out what to say, normally he got the 'will I see you again?' and it would be a lot easier to answer as it was always 'probably not'. This one wasn't about how the universe was probably going to work, but on his thoughts and who he was. He would be lying if he said he enjoyed never seeing the people he talked to again, but it would also be a lie if he said he would want to talk to them again-as he would feel a little less safe the more time he spent outside his home. He was at a complete loss at words that he just started to play eenie-meenie in his head to try to figure it out. That didn't work because he once again started to argue either side of saying yes or no. "I don't know, it's nice" He couldn't even add a but, that might raise suspicion to him. Having conversations was hard, why couldn't he just think and speak quickly like his younger self could?

Belle's studied how he tapped his foot and the thing in his pocket, whatever it was. What was he so hesitant on answering about? He was an dd character indeed, but a very compelling one. Mystery was just that, a mystery. She wanted to know him though, he seemed like the type who would hide a lot of things, maybe he has done bad things. But Belle being nosy and curious wanted to know. She felt it was her job to figure that out. "I'm taking that as a yes." Her smile widened, revealing her white teeth. She finally figured out where she was going with this, and was frankly not at all surprised. She would expect herself to ask something like this. "Do you want to talk with me again sometime? My shop is right there, so you can come by if you ever get the oppritunity." Belle wanted to know this mystery man. Where was his family? Did he even have any? How long has he been in Termina? She wanted to know it all. Belle was always searching from answers.

Mystery had to take a bit to answer the question again. It could be dangerous for him to continue talking to her, or more specifically going to her shop. He could keep going back after that, creating a pattern in his day and he could possibly be caught. He doubted he could really get out of it, since he did admit he enjoyed talking to someone. This all was just becoming a mess to him, and he had no idea how to deal with it. "That sounds fine" He was only going to make it more complicated with this continued contact with her, so he should just cut it off. Never show up to her shop, or just show up once and then never come back, to at least keep up with the promise. "I will stop by sometime tomorrow, I guess" Just once and then he could just let it be.
