I was just about to post something like this. The Christian place isn't exactly a safeplace, especially for LGBT+ people.
Right. I definitely don't think you should call something a safe space if not everyone feels welcome there. I'm not attacking the thread, because conceptually, it's fine - even though I sometimes disagree with how things go in practice - but it's not really what I would call a safe space. It's not even really designed to be a general safe space, anyway? It's a place for Christians to hang, which is fine, but that doesn't make it a place for people to go and vent. Anyway, I think there are more than enough peace/positivity threads on here, but if you want another, good luck. okay, just a final note on this.
it wouldn't be right to exclude a certain group or possible safehavens because people disagree with how it is ran or the ideals it may uphold. we're all different. we're all going to think differently. it'd be nice to have a list of safehavens that exhibit this. the fact is that people DO feel safe there, maybe even more so than other places. whether it's because of its center or the people is besides the point, but i think i'll keep it. it's the potential to do good and until i see proof otherwise, i see no harm in adding it to the list.
if you'd like to discuss this further, please shoot me a PM. i know there are issues with the place and i'd love to hear them. for the purpose of this thread, though, let's not carry this on here.

I think Christianland gets painted as this picture of people of the exact same beliefs singing kum-bye-ya, while rubbing their hands and muttering "homosexuals" under their breath. Constantly patting ourselves on the back. That the community always agrees, never argues, and only accepts fellow Christians.
It's not.
We're constantly debating among ourselves. The idea that we always concur? Ha! Discussions wouldn't last long if that were the case. We find it fun and enjoyable to dispute more controversial subjects, because we know how to do it civilly. Respect is maintained. Let me tell you, we've had quite a variation of opinions on some topics. A sizeable chunk of our frequenters aren't Christian, but love to hang out with us. And several of us consider themselves part of the LGBT+ spectrum.
My point is that Christianland isn't a hidey-hole for Christians forumers to bash other people and disrespect opinions we disagree with, which I think is what a lot of OTDers assume. We're just another chat-room community that enjoys learning different perspectives of religion. That is why Treestar has always said that everyone is welcome.
Now, if you personally don't want to talk to someone because of their beliefs, that's fine! I don't hold it against you. But please do not assume we would have discriminated against you when we have already accepted such a variety of people in the chat.
EDIT: Someone mentioned earlier that we've been constantly told off by mods to not "bash people/threads". That's sorta an overstatement-- we've only received warnings twice in our 130+ pages, and both times were a slight misunderstanding.

No one should ever feel as though they're being made fun of for trying to stay positive. Especially if you are genuinely trying to help yourself or others. If you really truely need it, find it. If it's not here than move on and keep moving till you've reached your place where you're most happy. It's when you stop searching that you feel everything else start to weigh so heavy. And, when you do have it, don't let go.

I did move on? Don't act like I'm trying to carry out negativity, please. Have fun with your thread, and good luck.

They deleted their own account after their last 2 posts on this thread. So about 13 mins ago; there's nothing that says why (and it wouldn't include that anyways). I can't contact them since the profile is gone.

@cryptic If you ever look at this thread as a guest or anything, I'd like you to know that you shouldn't feel embarrassed to come back if you ever want to, and if you don't, I understand. I personally would've loved to talk more, but this place might not be for you.
A lot of people did appreciate what you tried to do here.
And if you do see this, there's always the two discord chats that you can join whenever you want. Just in case you might be interested.
