~*~ Cold Front
A Wings Of Fire Roleplay ~*~
Seven years of death and war, have left the land cracked and torn. Shard of ice now soaked in blood and pain caused in her name. But there are seven Dragonets who can bring peace again.
A RainWing, a snake, With powers yet unseen, A SandWing, a flame, Who wishes to be queen. A NightWing, a prophet, Whose seeing is a curse, A SeaWing, a light, Who hides beneath the surf. A MudWing, a bird, Whose heart is torn inside, An IceWing, a dawn, Who cannot forget her pride. And a SkyWing, a falcon, Who brings death ever near. Our hopes, and our dreams, and our faith Embodied here.
The truth, though hidden, can be brought From darkness into light. And this will bring a swifter end, Past wrongs turned into rights.
But if they fail to bring the end By four years hence from now, Three tribes extinct and desolate, Their homes razed to the ground.
~Summary~
Seven years earlier, Queen Pearl's only daughter Shard was traveling to the Sky Kingdom on a peaceful mission when she was mysteriously murdered. Her body was found three days later, lying limp on the border of the Sand, Sky, and Mud Kingdoms. Enraged, Pearl blamed her death on all three kingdoms, declaring that she would not rest until whichever kingdom killed her heir admitted to it. All three kingdoms, however, denied the murder, joining a three tribe alliance. Though, Pearl was not alone, the RainWings, NightWings, and SeaWings sided with the Queen. Since then, the seven tribes have been at war with each other, every battle growing more and more bloody than the previous. On the seventh anniversary of the murder, the low-born NightWing Starwatcher received a prophecy warning her that if the war continued for four more years, the cost would be too great. So she set off on a journey to find and locate all seven dragonets, and help bring the end the war before it was too late.

~Rules~
1. Please be respectful to those participating in the roleplay. 2. Please be at least semi-literate. No one-liners, as those make responding difficult and enjoyable. Also, use proper grammar and aviod using text chat while in character. (OOC text chat is okay) 3. Give your characters flaws, no one likes a Mary sue. 4. Wait for me or kiwi cheesecake to approve your forms before roleplaying. 5. All romance is acceptable, if you're not okay with LGBTQ+ relationships, then this roleplay isn't for you. 6. You are allowed to reserve characters, just remember that they will only be held for a week. 7. Have Fun!
(If you break any of these rules I have the right to kick you out of the roleplay, though I'll probably start with a warning.)
~The Territories~
The Sky Kingdom~ The Sky kingdom makes up the wing and parts of the torso of dragon-shaped continent Pyrrhia, and is located in central section. Most of the territory is high in the Claws of the Clouds Mountains. Rocky ledges, mountain peaks, and open sky make up the kingdom's scenery. The palace and capital city reside on the far north portion of the territory. At the very south is Jade Mountain, the highest mountain in all of Pyrrhia. The Diamond Spray river begins at the base of the mountain where the palace is, and continues to flow to the middle of the territory and onto the edge of the Mud and Rain Kingdoms. The Sky Kingdom borders the Sea Kingdom to the northeast also.
The Sea Kingdom~ The Sea Kingdom is the current residence of the SeaWings. The main Palace of the kingdom is deep under the sea, and It's whereabouts are unknown to most of the other tribes. It is unknown how far into the ocean the kingdom stretches. The Bay of a Thousand Scales is a spiral collection of islands which makes up the "tail" of Pyrrhia. It is a part of the Sea Kingdom and is therefore ruled by Queen Seahorse. The Deep Palace is home to the Royal Hatchery and is the main headquarters of the SeaWing Royal Family. The palace is built underwater out of coral and stone, in the middle of a canyon. The SeaWings prefer the Deep Palace because it is deep underwater and impossible to reach, stay in, or be attacked by the other dragon tribes. The Summer Palace has yet to be built, and the SeaWings meet with other tribes on a tropical island in the middle of the Bay of a Thousand Scales.
The Sand Kingdom~ The Sand Kingdom is the largest kingdom in Pyrrhia, and is home to the SandWings, a desert-dwelling dragon tribe. It occupies the southwestern portion of the continent, stretching from the Claws of the Clouds Mountains of the Sky Kingdom to the edge of the Ice Kingdom and the NightWing kingdom and the bordering parts of the ocean. The Kingdom of Sand is filled with dunes that are constantly shifting. Far to the north, where the kingdom borders with the Ice Kingdom, the land changes to barren tundra.
The Mud Kingdom~ The Mud Kingdom is full of swamps, humidity, and most of all, mud. It is on the back of Pyrrhia, under the Sky Kingdom and next to the Rain and Sea Kingdoms. The Kingdom is in eastern Pyrrhia, north of the Rain Kingdom. The palace and capital city is located next to a large lake at the southern edge of its territory. The Diamond Spray Delta is where the lowest-born MudWings live, a path of drier dirt runs through the village. There are large piles of mud on either side in which MudWings nap, rest, hunt, and sleep in, along with sleephouses. Sleephouses are tall towering structures made of mud where troops of MudWing siblings live. The rest of the territory has many more villages with swampy grounds.
The Night Kingdom~ The Night Kingdom is located just south of the Kingdom of Sand, on a peninsula by the sea. The land here is rough and craggy, and is ideal for hatching moonborn dragonets. It is a series of canyons, caves, and mountain peaks. The Kingdom itself appears to stretch all the way to the Claws of the Clouds Mountains. The Great Diamond is what the NightWings call the shape formed of the tribe's most important buildings. The palace and school were placed to the north, not far from each other, and the museum and the library finished the shape towards the south. The palace was noted to be the biggest of the four buildings.
The Ice Kingdom~ The Ice Kingdom It makes up the "head", or northern peninsula, of Pyrrhia, and somewhat resembles the state of Alaska. The kingdom is composed primarily of mountains and glaciers while the surrounding ocean is speckled with ice floes. It is characterized by extremely cold temperatures and freezing wind that often reach subzero. The weather is complementary to the IceWing tribe's abilities and traits, however, and so they thrive in its hostile conditions without trouble. It's only border is the Kingdom of Sand. The entirety of the Ice Kingdom is surrounded by the Great Ice Cliff, which is an animus touched barrier that skewers any invaders with icicle spears. Queen Pearl's palace is located in the far north, on the peninsula. It is said to be made entirely of enchanted ice. The palace is described to be consistent of such a low temperature that no dragon other than an IceWing would be able to survive. Inside the palace, there is a Moon Globe Tree created by Frostbite, which is the "Gift of Light".
The Rain Kingdom~ The Rainforest Kingdom covers the rear legs, or southeast part of Pyrrhia. It is very beautiful with all its trees, plants, animals, fruits, and colors. Rain comes down in torrents. There is a very large village that all the RainWings live in. The homes are made out of tree houses with vine walkways connecting them. At the center of the village is a structure similar to the SkyWing arena called an Arboretum which is a huge platform made of woven branches and surrounded by tree houses set up as stores, mainly fruit stands. The city has three hatcheries, each hatchery holds a third of the village's eggs. Each hatchery has a tightly woven floor and is shaped like a large green egg. The RainWings mix their eggs and raise them together as a village, so it is unknown who is related unless a venom test has been done. There is a large tree house that houses the queen, and a Royal Garden. The RainWings needed an alternative method of transportation rather than flying, so they invented tree gliding, which Jambu teaches. They swing with their prehensile tails and glide through the air. Many platforms and hammocks are between trees for the RainWing's sun-time. The healer's hut, which is close to the sunning platforms, is descried to have red berries growing on the balcony, with skylights shining through its leafy roofs.

Queen Flare | SkyWing | Female | 23 years | |Flare has light red scales mixed in with yellow and orange as her main color. Crimson patches litter her body and wings, as well as her face. She has huge wings and is a large, menacing SkyWIng. She has a lot of jewellery, such as her ivory armband that has animus enchantments to prevent her from having her firescales. She has menacing icy blue eyes. | Flare is ruthless, merciless, and dangerous. She loves to kill and has a strong hatred for SeaWings. She has a soft spot for dragonets, though. She has two sons of her own, having killed any challengers of the throne. She is very slick and sly, easily manipulating dragons to kill for her. | Flare was born to two dragons, Sunset and Glare. Her parents constantly fought- and Glare- being an animus, enchanted his daughters scales and made her a bracelet. Sunset's sister, Sunrise has been Queen then. As soon as Flare hit her 20th hatching day, she challenged Sunrise for the throne. It was an easy fight, she had burned Sunrise to death. | Dragonets are hybrids, half Sky, half Sand. | Salt
Queen Tawny of the MudWings
Prophecy Dragonets~ Farsight | Nightwing | Female | 5 | | Farsight is a small, lithe dragonet with dark black/blue scales. Her eyes are pale and milky, a mark of her blindness. Her wings are speckled with star-like scales in icy-blue and white colors. | Farsight is rather unassuming, but is surprisingly smart and adaptable. She has a strong sense of perseverance and, despite her young age and blindness, is able to fly and move about with ease. | Not much notable history, though she does occasionally have visions of unfamiliar dragonets from other tribes... | Has the gift of prophecy | moonmasksunfrost |
Lumen, SeaWing outlaw (Reserved: kiwi cheesecake )
Swan, young MudWing who suffers from anxiety after watching all her siblings die
Peregrine, SkyWing assassin-in-training (Reserved: 𝒳𝒶𝓎𝒶𝒽 ♥ )
Boa | Rainwing | Male | 8 years | | Boa is an abnormally large Rainwing. Other dragonets often make fun of Boa's large feet and tiny claws. Usually, his scales are green and yellow in color, but they might show hints of other colors depending on his emotion. | Dispite his strange appearance Boa is a quick thinker. He tries hard to hide his powers, and he hopes no one else will ever discover them. As a result of this, Boa is very shy around other dragons and it takes him awhile to develop lasting friendships. Boa is very artistic, and he loves to build small building out of rocks and leaves. Also, he does not enjoy war, but he will do anything to protect his true friends.| At an early age of his life Boa learned of the mysterious powers he possessed. Often he would use them to do simple tasks for him, until he overheard older dragons speaking about animus dragons who lost their sense. This completely changed his life. From that point forward he never used his powers again, and has not told another dragon of them. | Other N/A | featherdapple |
Scorch, SandWing peasant who longs to rule her tribe
Aurora | IceWing | Female | 7 years | Aurora is quite large, but weak. She has icy-silver scales that are flecked woth blue and has solid silver spikes. Her tail and claws are whip thin and deadly. Her eyes are dark blue. She boasts second-circle jewellery. | Aurora is friendly-to those who are nice to her. To other tribes, she is cold and quite scary. It's funny because as a second-circle IceWing she should be grumpy and whatnot. She loves dragonets. She has a burning hatred for RainWings. | Nope | Second Circle IceWing | Salt
Other Main Characters~ Starwatcher (Mine!)
SkyWings~ Nimbus | Skywings | Male | 14 | | Nimbus has rather unusual dull red-gray scales. He has brighter scales edging his legs, wings and back, which are an almost normal shade of red. He has golden-orange eyes and light orange veins through his red wing membranes. His scales are rather cool to the touch. | Nimbus is a quiet, rather nervous dragon. Lacking the natural weapons of other Skywings, he is rather peaceful and would not join the war even if he was able. He is rather afraid of the queen. | Nimbus hatched with too little fire in his scales (like the reverse of a dragon such as Peril). He thus could not apply for a position in the army, as a dragon unable to breathe fire- could not use dragonflame cactus or flames to aid his tribe in battle. Most of his family has gone to join the war, so Nimbus has taken a position as the keeper of records in the queen's palace. | Has too little fire, can only snort smoke and occasionally produce small flames. | moonmasksunfrost |
SeaWings~ Leviathan | Seawings | Male | 21 | | With a name like "Leviathan," you might expect a massive, muscular dragon. While Leviathan (or "Levi") is reasonably muscular and physically capable, he is rather small and stocky. He has turquoise scales, with pale sea-green underscales. He has dark green eyes, and sports no jewelry except for a small red coral pendant, which clashes horribly with his scales. | Leviathan is rather confident, as befits a dragon of his occupation- he hunts exotic deep-sea fish to sell for profit. He is also quite friendly and chivalrous when dealing with dragons for non business-related reasons. | His pendant was a gift from his mother before she headed off to war. He was named after a beast his father encountered shortly before his hatching; it turned out to be rather fitting to his occupation. | No special abilities other than a propensity for fish-related insults. | moonmasksunfrost |
SandWings~ none
MudWings~ none
NightWings~ Serenity | NightWing | Female | 12 | | Serenity is a lean, slender dragon with bright eyes. Some say she looks more like a RainWing than a NightWing. Still, she is a full-blooded NightWing, evident in her dark scales and starry pattern beneath her wings. She is still rather small for a dragon for her age, but she doesn’t mind. She tends to rely more on her brain than her strength anyway. Serenity has a small teardrop-shaped scale near her left eye, showing that she has the power of mind-reading. But besides that, her scales are completely unmarked by color or scars. She hasn’t had to fight… yet. | Serenity is a quiet dragon, preferring not to talk to anyone but her sister. She’s cut herself off from others since their parents left for the war, and she hasn’t really been the same ever since. She carries herself with a certain detachment from others, distancing herself from others emotions and feelings. She often offends or frightens others, simply because she doesn’t know what they mean or think. As such, she’s come to rely more on her sister than anyone else. A few good things have come of this, however. Serenity is extremely intelligent, if by books rather than by experience. She’s secluded herself in her own world of numbers and figures, trusting the reliability of formulas rather than the fleeting unpredictability of other dragons. | Serenity and Clarity are the only two eggs of their mother’s first clutch, before both she and their father went off to war, leaving the two dragonets behind. They haven’t come back yet, and, as time goes on, the sisters begin to rely more and more on each other, becoming closed off in their own little world. | Serenity has the power of mind-reading, but she uses it more to talk to her sister than anything else. People constantly mistake her for her sister, Clarity, and their similar names don’t help. | kiwi cheesecake
Clarity | NightWing | Female | 12 | | Clarity is a lean, slender dragon with bright eyes. The only distinguishing mark she has from her sister, Serenity, is that she has a teardrop-shaped scale near her right eye, demonstrating her power of mind-reading.. Besides that, her scales are completely unmarked by color or scars. She hasn’t had to fight… yet. | Clarity is far more enthusiastic than her sister, but she still retains the certain detachment that characterizes the twins. She’s always ready with a smile, a joke, a laugh- but sometimes she doesn’t quite understand why others can’t laugh. This small ignorance often leads to misunderstandings and lost friendships. As such, she’s come to rely more on her sister than anyone else. Still, that doesn’t stop her from constantly trying to make new friends. She, like her sister, is more of a thinker than a fighter, but she also has a tendency to follow her emotions and instincts along with her logic. | Serenity and Clarity are the only two eggs of their mother’s first clutch, before both she and their father went off to war, leaving the two dragonets behind. They haven’t come back yet, and, as time goes on, the sisters begin to rely more and more on each other, becoming closed off in their own little world. | Clarity has the power of mind-reading, but she uses it more to talk to her sister than anything else. Draco | Nightwings | Male | Mid (13) | | Restless obsidian eyes sit wickedly within the creature's broad but narrow, scaled skull, which gives the creature a savage looking appearance. Two dagger sharp horns sit atop its head, just above its enormous, angular ears. Four large teeth poke out from the side of its mouth and reveal only a fraction of the terror hiding inside. A broad neck runs down from its head and into a huge body. The body is covered in covered in purple scales and a row of silver scales line his back. Its bottom is covered in warped scales and is colored slightly lighter than the rest of its body. Two muscular limbs carry its body and allow the creature to stand arrogantly and illustrious. Each limb has 6 digits, each of which end in sharp talons seemingly made of stone. Colossal wings grow starting from its shoulders and end at the lower end of its back. The wings are curve over, giving them a terrifying appearance, the inside is almost entirely see-through, especially when viewed from a distance and curved talons grow from each ending like giant scythes. Its narrow tail ends in a sharp tip and is covered in the same curved scales as its body. | Despite his cold-hearted appearance, Draco prefers to just be left alone most of the time. He enjoys being alone, away from all of the chaos and he stays out of fighting. Occasionally, he gets a scar or two just like the one across his right eye. He tends to look out for the tribe, making sure the queen herself is safe and especially the eggs. Without eggs or females, there would be no life. All Draco hopes for is a female dragon of his own, but he'll wait for however long he needs to. | Rainshimmer22 |-
IceWings~ Beluga | Icewings | Female | 12 | | Beluga's scales are a creamy, almost yellowish shade of white, like the fur of a polar bear or the whale of the same name. She has sharp blue eyes and noticeably clean spikes and claws. She has a silver necklace, sporting the three circular links of a Third-Circle dragon. | Beluga is quite skilled at hiding her feelings, looking down her snout with enormous disdain at anyone who dares tease her about her scale color. On the inside, though, she is more sensitive than she lets on. | Beluga has worked hard to claw her way up the adult rankings, finally earning a spot to live in the Icewing Palace. Other dragons have teased her for nearly her whole life, saying that because of her yellowish scales she must have some Sandwing ancestry. She herself does not know how much truth there is to this accusation, as both of her parents died in the war before she hatched; she has been raised by a stern old aunt for most of her life. | Ranked in the Third Circle | moonmasksunfrost |
Dew | Icewings | Female | Young (6) | | This dragon's fine scales are white, getting much thicker around its head. It has an elegant, long body with a slender tail. On the end of its tail is a hooklike extension. This dragon has long, thick limbs with four closely-mounted digits on each foot that end in blunt claws. It has fanlike wings. A row of bony knobs runs from the base of its skull, down its back, to the tip of its tail. This dragon has a tiny mouth with two tusklike teeth in front. It has droopy eyes that are white. A series of tendrils extends, hair-like, from the back of its head. A single horn projects from the base of its chin. One short horn extends straight up from its forehead. | Dew prefers to be around other dragons, for she prefers company. She enjoys a good laugh here and then and likes to make sure everything is running smoothly within the tribe. Despite her war-like appearance, dew isn't much for fighting and prefers everything just be a game. | Rainshimmer22 |
RainWings~ none
(I have made updates to this, Milli. If anything's not in the proper format, that is why. Sorry, but you haven't been on, so I just added the new joiners. Hope that's okay.)

~Other Information~
Me and kiwi cheesecake are the moderators of this roleplay, what we say should be respected and listened to. If someone doesn't listen to us they can/will be kicked out. The roleplay takes place even before Darkstalker's time so there are many differences in the territories and behaviors of the tribes than in the original series (ex. RainWings are not viewed as lazy, do not swich out Queens, and their venom is common knowledge.) If you haven't guessed this roleplay contains spoilers for the series, and though you do not have to have read the whole series, tread carefully. If you have any personal problems with people who join here, feel free to PM me and I'll try to work things out, please don't come here and attack people, even if you are actively rp in the meantime. If you need anything, just feel free to ask!

Just wondering, approximately how old should the prophecy dragons be?

(Well they'd have to still be Dragonets so less than eight. However, I'd prefer to have them older than four just so they can actually do things.)

Starwatcher gazed out across NightWing territory, letting the moonlight turn her ebony wings silver. Her single tear drop scales glittered coldly next to the midnight blue of her eyes. Taking a shaky breath, she stretched out her wings, preparing herself for a long and dangerous flight. Muscles rippling, the black dragoness launched into the darkness ahead, knowing in her mind that this was the only thing that could end the war that took her parents. It's something I have to do. Something that if I never followed through on, would haunt me till my dying breath.
With a silent prayer to her deceased mother, Starwatcher angled her wings, making her way towards the Rainforest Kingdom.

Boa awoke in the night. His hammock suddenly felt very cold. Something was wrong. Boa flew through layers of leaves that surrounded his home, and hovered high above the trees. He imagined the battles that were far away and wondered if war could end as quickly as it came. Maybe, I could end it he thought, but how could a single Rainwing dragonet end a war that has last for almost his whole life.

Beluga | Icewings | Female | 12 | | Beluga's scales are a creamy, almost yellowish shade of white, like the fur of a polar bear or the whale of the same name.
Nimbus | Skywings | Male | 14 | | Nimbus has rather unusual dull red-gray scales.
Leviathan | Seawings | Male | 21 | | With a name like "Leviathan," you might expect a massive, muscular dragon.

Clarity awoke in the darkness of night, some unbidden force drawing her from her slumber. Slowly, she cracked open an eye, scanning the area around her bed. Nothing. Nothing but the cave and her sister. Sighing, she rose to her feet, intent on taking a short walk before retiring once more. She always woke up for a reason. Withdrawing her tail from Serenity's, Clarity strolled out unto the small ledge separating their home from the endless ravines and crevasses of the mountains. Her quick gaze once more surveyed the area. Nothing again. Except... On a ledge a few lengths away, a large dragoness stood, the moonlight reflecting off her ebony scales. Starwatcher. Even though the older dragon had fallen into disrepute lately, Clarity still felt the need to press herself up against the cliff face in an attempt to hide. As she watched, Starwatcher took flight, setting out course amidst the rocky outcroppings surrounding her. It wasn't uncommon to go out for night flights, especially when one was feeling restless. That was what Clarity was about to do. So why did something feel... different about this? Although she knew reading the dragoness's mind could answer a few questions, she held back out of respect. Soon, Starwatcher was gone over the horizon, leaving Clarity staring after nothing. She didn't realise she had been holding her breath. Slowly, she blew air out, watching as it spiraled into silver wisps before fading away. Then she turned back around, towards her sister and the warm sleeping cave. Too many questions too late at night, she thought, settling back down in her bed. Maybe in the morning I can see Starwatcher and ask her about it. But now... I need sleep... Slowly, the dragoness drifted off, blissfully unaware the consequences of what she had witnessed, and the new wheels that had been set in motion by the departure of one dragon.
