it appears that we are both poofs, then.
so, to awkwardly change the subject, we had just settled on the theme of the plot being greek mythology, right?

Si we did agree on a Greek Mythology based rp. It's been forever since I even roleplayed anything greek, that wasn't Percy Jackson. You have any greek based plots that could work?

i haven't rped or even written something related to greek mythology for the longest time either.
i don't really, sorry. i have a few vague ideas, but i've no clue how to make them work. i'll list them here and you can see if anything strikes your fancy anyway.
- a god (someone that's either involved with another god or closely related to them would probably work best) visits modern earth, but after a curse is placed on them, they lose their powers and all their memories. another god follows them to bring them back.
[li] this one isn't so much an idea as something to base it on. i've always found the myth of icarus really interesting, so something centered around that perhaps?[/li]
[li] as my last almost idea, we could start a godly war and rp what that would lead to, either by writing two allies or two enemies, or maybe even outsiders.[/li] [/ul] that's all i have right now. do offer suggestions or share your own ideas if you have any. i'd love to hear them. [/font]

I like the idea of a godly war, it also sounds the easiest to work with at the moment since we don't really have any solid ideas. Plus godly wars are always fun

godly war it is! do we want to have them war together against something, or against each other?

|
Post by Bᴜᴍʙʟᴇʙᴇᴇ on Oct 9, 2016 13:49:34 GMT -5
Hmmmm, we could have them war together so they have more scenes since I'm guessing as enemies there wouldn't be much scenes with them together unless they are like fighting. What kind of godly war would it be? Like Greeks against Romans or like Greeks warring against other greeks?

a good point. together it is. greeks against romans is always fun, but greeks against greeks could be fun as well. i really don't mind here, it depends. if the gods are urging humans (or demi-gods) to fight, then i think greek vs greek might be better. maybe athena and ares are fighting again, leading to athens and sparta fighting - again. or we could go with another pair of patron gods, that's not really important. we could also go with actual gods fighting, in which case i think the greek vs roman thing could be a lot more interesting.

Hmm. I like the idea of getting Demi-gods to fight, sort of has a Percy Jackson feel to it. And I feel Athena and Ares would be better since any of the big three I took that straight from PJ idk what else to call them are used more I think at least. But I like the idea of Demi-gods or Spartan demi-gods vs Athens. Would the roleplay take place during ancient times or modern times? Modern day would be fun but ancient times are so much fun to roleplay as well

ah, yes, i think so too! and some percy feels can never be a bad thing.
athena and ares sounds good to me. they're both war gods, too, so it makes sense for them to be more physical in their fight (but then more or less all greek gods are angry and on the warpath constantly, so, there's that). modern day could be really interesting! i'm not sure how we'd make it work with the cities, since they're not so much places of worship anymore, but i really like the idea of it! we could always leave that behind and go with something a little more modern, like gangs of demi-gods or something like that. i hadn't even considered it as an option, to be honest, but there's so much that could be done with a modern setting.

PJ can never be bad, especially in a greek-ish theme
What we could do with a modern setting is that we could have gangs basically in some city, idk which one maybe new York just to set a scene, and the gangs could be called 'Athens' and 'Spartans' and could be groups of demi-gods blessed by Athena and Ares

my thoughts exactly.
yeah, i like that! that might be more interesting than just the kingdoms of athens and spartans, actually, because i feel as though we could do a lot more with a more modern setting. so, as long as you don't completely disagree, i propose we go with it.

I'm all for it, frankly I will do just about any roleplay with Greek gods of any sorts. I just love mythology so of course I'm green lights for the idea

sorry i left without warning, it was past midnight here so i fell asleep. awesome! so i guess we figure out the details now, then? there's a few questions that come to mind, though i'm sure you could have more that i'm not thinking of. the demi-gods, do they have athena/ ares as their godly parent or are they just sponsored by them? which side will we rp on, athens or sparta? are we thinking demi-gods in the pj sense or more the heracles kind, where they're strong and fast but not eactly superhuman?
some of these we may need to debate more than others, but i figured i'd bring them up before i completely forgot them.

It's fine I had fallen asleep too lol I was thinking that actually of how that would work out and I like the idea of them maybe being sponsored by the gods, and being a more Hercules kind of demi-hod since the PJ demi-god versions to me have been worked over in other greek plots if that makes sense.

Post by 𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘯 on Oct 10, 2016 11:12:02 GMT -5
yeah, i like that too. the pj kind of demi-gods are good and all, but i don't think it would work as well in this plot. it could also mean more diversity to have them be sponsored, i don't think having everyone be the son/daughter of one god would be as much fun as being able to go a little more wild. that being said, i do think we should keep athena's kids on her side, and ares' kids on his side (if we even include any at all) because that makes more sense to me.

Right right. Having everyone related in some way wouldn't really be all that fun as them being picked by the god to represent them or something. And yeah, keeping the kids on the respected side if included is more sensible.

precicely. it appears we're in agreement! if we're to continue down the list, do you have any kind of preference as to which side we have our characters? i'm not sure how big aof a difference it would make, personally (maybe in fighting style, but that's pretty much it) so i can't say i prefer one over the other.

I don't really mind either which since our characters are on. Maybe we could have two characters each, if you're comfortable with that, and we could have one on each side of the spectrum

I can't think of anything, no. We can always figure things out as we go if that becomes necessary.

Would you mind terribly? I'd like to get my characters up before I post. If you'd prefer to describe yours through rp that's absolutely fine and by no means a problem, but I usually like to post something really short and simple to get a reference up; since my rp characters are usually unique to the rp and developed specifically for it, I'm not that used to writing with them going into it so I like the safety net.
