Ivorypaw trudged back to the apprentice den entrance and bean to groom her chest fur. She occansionally glanced at the medicine cat den to see if Kestrelaw had emerged. They had previously went out hunting together and he had gotten a thorn in his paw pad. She sighed, thinking back to the squirrel they had let get away. The fresh kill pile was still very empty.

Hazelpaw was laying in his nest in the apprentice's den. He heard a cat approaching, and flicked his ear. He glanced at the entrance, and saw Ivorypaw. "Hey Ivorypaw!" He said to the she-cat.

Ivorypaw turned around and smiled. "Hey, Hazelpaw!" She waved him over with her tail, her eyes gleaming brightly. "I see somecat enjoys his rest." She teased playfully.

Maplepaw meowed, "Alright, I'll get that out for you." She continued, "Please show me your paw?" The calico she-cat just wanted to get this over with, she wasn't exactly happy with Kestrelpaw at the moment. Lifting his left front paw, Kestrelpaw sighed and said,"Are you sure you want to become a medicine cat apprentice? You don't want to live free from the medicine cat code and live free as a warrior?", the tom questioned her decision. |
