Applepaw heard Silverpaw, and followed the sound. He found her sunning, and licked her head, asking "I heard about the badger... are you alright?" .

(OHM Y GOD that was an exchange I never dreamed I would ever have that was wild)
Barrowfall opened her eyes, waking from a fitful sleep. Her body still ached from the fight with the badger. She got up slowly, pains shooting down her side and through her shoulder. The warrior winced a little as she made her way into the camp clearing.

Lightpaw got up and looked around for something to then frowning seeing that there was almost nothing fun to do, Lightpaw thought to her self with cleaning her paws *is there any thing to do?!*

Ivorypaw puffed out her chest fur and beamed, feeling extremely proud. "I got to land a few hits on that badger too!" She added, slightly wanting to feed her ego. So the next time..which would be soon! She'd be ready, knowing already how to defend herself. She wasn't so bothered by the defeat, only seeing it as an opportunity to fight again for her clan.

(I have resumed watching DR3 and my loss has shifted from my daughter to a diFFERENT CHARACTER I am no longer in grief but at what price)
(Also I have Barrowfall open if you wanna RP with her? There's Batflight too)
Barrowfall moved to the fresh kill pile, picking up a bird and moving to a spot in the shade, tearing into the animal without a second's rest. Dark droplets of its cold blood splattered onto her muzzle. The warrior felt her claws digging into its feathers, remembering her fight with the badger. It was going to take a long time for her to get over the failure she so willingly imposed on herself.

Silverpaw looked at Applepaw a little surprised. "Uh...yeah," she began, "I'm just kinda worried about my mentor." It was true...what had happened to Heatherstripe made Silverpaw worried about her. It even made Silverpaw lose sleep last night.

The warrior shot a glare at the tom beside her, spitting a few feathers from her mouth. "What's exciting about endangering your own clanmates?" She licked a little blood from her jaw, returning her attention to the bird. "It was a failure, nothing more."

"Who knows whether we really chased it off or not?" she retorted, her voice starting to raise. "Heatherstripe is hurt, Stormgaze is hurt!" She clenched her teeth, slamming her paw down hard on the bird carcass. A little blood splattered onto the dirt. Barrowfall looked down absently. "I should have been able to help them... what's the point of being a warrior if you can't help?"

Barrowfall looked to Sharpwind, a grain of regret growing inside her. "I'm sorry, I just-" She sighed heavily, almost forcing out her sentence. "I feel so bad about them, you know? I thought maybe if I fought harder, I would have been able to keep them safe." Her eyes wandered in the direction of the apprentice's den. "A lot of cats were in danger, I didn't play my part."

The regret within the warrior grew a little more. All she could manage to say was "Right." Of course she wanted to say more, but how could she? Sharpwind wasn't wrong. She hadn't even thought how the others must have felt. Barrowfall pushed the bird around a little with her paw. The fresh kill no longer looked appealing to her.

Barrowfall stood up, staring down at her meal. It had barely been touched. "Sure. Let me bury this bird outside camp." She picked up the fresh kill, muttering through a mouthful of feathers: "Its meat was starting to go sour." Without another word she headed off to make a hasty burial.

Daffodilpaw, now decided that Ivorypaw would be a true friend, decided to say so. She didn't have many friends, so she didn't want to make it go wrong by asking to be friends, and wanted to make friendship clear in a different way. So she happily said "Hey, we're both apprentices, and since we're younger, none of us will become warriors when the others do. So, I was wondering where your nest is... I never really paid attention to others, but now I'd like to know where it is..."
"Oh... I'm really sorry, I hadn't heard about that... I hope she gets better soon..." said Applepaw, bowing his head in dismay.
