Sometimes, when I'm on this site, it just randomly loads a website that looks like a scam/virus. It's really worrying me. I don't click anything, I'm just reading posts and it does it. I don't want a virus on my computer that isn't even a year old.
Is this happening to anyone else?

looks like a virus is on your computer or your just clicking on some harmful ads. Does this happen to you on other websites? do a virus scan with your choice anti-malware program. I usually use malware bytes for this.

It doesn't. It's just this website. It also happened on my phone once. And I've never clicked on the ads here - at least not on purpose - and my antivirus hasn't said anything.

aah, no. i use ublock. i hate when sites do that. as much as i want to support them theyre pretty much forcing me to block ads. i feel like all the sites i go on have been having this problem recently too! since having to scan for malware is a pain in the butt i just keep the adblock on.
also, id reccomend scanning your computer if its happened repeatedly.

This happened to me a couple of times on the old forums where it redirected me to some scammy websites, it's the wonderful work of adware. Just scan your device for any malware or security issues, it's probably not the forums fault.

Nothing bad so far.

The same has been happening with me and my computer is finding no viruses or anything. I've only had it happen in OTD.

I would say if it's just redirecting you to another website without your consent then something is wrong. I would suggest a malware-bytes scan or an adware scan, again these programs sniff out malware like a charm.

I ran my security systems, they found nothing, I ran CCleaner and CleanMaster, but they're not secuirty so I didn't really expect them to find anything I forgot to run my Anti-Malware system, so I'm scanning now. It won't be finished for another 30 minutes at least

If it was adware, wouldn't it also do it on facebook and other sites?

oh yeah. Seems like a forum issue then, I haven't been getting anything so far. We'll see if the problem persists with others.

I've only had ads pop up in a new tab a couple of times... even then, a web protection program I have on my computer blocks them.

Report the ads to proboards -- that's what'll work best.

Am I the only person not seeing OP's SN? I can see it. It might be because you're on a device that isn't able to read whatever characters make up OP's sn. When I'm on my ipad/phone, sometimes I can't see certain sn's because they're in a fancy font and my device won't load those characters. But on my laptop I can see everything. If it's not that, then idk why you can't see it.

i recommend the extension ghostery if you have chrome, you can block certain trackers on the site if you want and that may solve some problems
