I liked the repetition and alliteration of the sound words you used. I also like the bit of rhyme you have going. My favorite stanza was His grimy flesh/His poisonous flesh/Made with miasma dy-ing. I also liked how you really capitalized on the 'monster'- we get a sense of mystery and chill; we don't know who this monster is, but we sure don't want to be around to find out. I think overall, it was a good ghost story; definitely unique. -pumpkin pie

I really liked your word choice in this, as well as the stray from what one could call ‘usual language.’ The way it is put together gives it a really nice feeling, making it a better read than just flat writing. I really love your writing in this. The way your sentences flow. They aren’t all complete thoughts, and this seems like a nice style choice. The separate paragraphs for important lines such as “He died, just so you know” makes them really stick out, and this is an awesome strategy. Your story followed well with the 'ghost story' theme I felt like, however, I feel that it was lacking in the creativity department a bit. It seems a bit like the more typical ghost story. It almost seemed a bit like Casper the friendly ghost, which is not a bad thing. I liked the bit of twist at the end- I was expecting something scary, but it turned out more calm, almost a relief. -pumpkin pie

You did a very nice job of conveying a ghost story, and in such little words. While I love the use of rhyme in poetry, I think at some points it took away from yours (big words can be nice, other times too many syllables can just get in the way). Still, I do like the rhythm to it, and I applaud the fact you could wrap up a ghost story without having to make the ending creepy or terrifying. -ℜust ℜed ℜose

I actually really liked yours a lot. It was definitely a different take to the prompt than the others. It was not a typical ghost story, but it was a ghost story none the less and I really enjoyed it! It was very cyclical- the story folded in on itself and the theme you started with, continued throughout. You could just feel it- as 'she' got more prominent, and you fell to the back, no longer needed. I really got that bit of being 'imaginary.' -pumpkin pie

I really like this one. This use of first person is very nice (often I am not as much of a fan of it). The sentence structure is nice, and I like the way things are phrased. I thought yours would allude to maybe something such as depression or have something of the sort, but I think it works how you’ve finished it. This story is an interesting one. It is a little difficult to tell what is happening, but that keeps an air of mystery to it. That being said I wish it had more of a twist to it at the end, because it ends kind of predictably. Still, it is nicely executed, and for the most part straight to the point. There is no muddling with useless descriptions; only the things that are important. It reminds me very much so of the styles in which Warriors is written, which goes nicely with the character choice. I really enjoyed reading your short story! It was engaging, and I loved how your kind of kept us in the dark about what was going on until the end (or at least that's how I felt). You have a different sort of style than I do, but I like it. You seem to have put a lot of thought into how every sentence flows into the next and every sentence really seems to belong where it is. This is a very unique sort of story (I haven’t read anything like it before). It’s not quite ‘ghosty’ but it has a creepy sort of air to it that I like.
