(Bramble: haha thanks >.< Get excited for next year The nice thing is that it's really fun, thoughโso I'm busy, but a lot of it doesn't really feel like work, which is nice!) Sparrowstar smiled softly and shook her head at Mistyfur's unwillingness to accept her praise. "I have a feeling that you'll say that every time that I assign you an apprentice, and each one will somehow become a spectacular warrior." She let her glittering gaze rise to meet Mistyfur's, doing her best to ensure that the younger warrior knew that she was teasing. Like many in the clan, she had great respect both for Mistyfur's tireless work as a hunter and for her diligence in shaping the younger generations. She craned her neck to glance through the entrance of the den, gauging the position of the sun now just beginning to creep toward the horizon. "I'll make sure that Stagpaw is in camp and then gather the clan," she reported, then smiled rather sadly. "If you're ready to see Jadepaw move on. I've always thought that it's the hardest part of being a mentor."

Mara paused for a moment and started to turn away as he kit scampered off. However, when she heard the mother calling for the kit, she grunted and darted after the kit, picking it up by it's scruff. She then turned towards where the call had come from and padded in that direction, hoping to find the mother. He's too young to be going off on his own. Don't want him getting lost and eaten by a fox now, do we? She thought to herself as she walked over. She called out as best she could around the kit, "I heard you calling for Timber, any chance this is him?"
(Jade: I'm sure that I'll enjoy it once I get there. The problem is getting there at a reasonable price xD) Mistyfur nodded. "Whether I'm ready to see Jadepaw move on or not, she's ready to move on," she said. She decided not to add a comment about how she felt she hadn't been the best mentor anyways, feeling that that was not appropriate in this situation. Instead, she glanced up at Sparrowstar and said, "so I suppose I should find a way to keep Jadepaw in camp until the ceremony?

Timber yowled loudly, his paws flailing as he was lifted up helplessly from the scruff of his neck. He growled, wiggling in the stranger molly's grasp. Though as they began approaching the sounds of a desperate queen crying for her kit, Timber's fighting lessened quite a bit and he instead began responding to the shouts of his name with his own mews.
Moose's cries immediately cut off as she heard a faint response that steadily grew closer. She jumped to her paws, peeking her head from the bush she begrudgedly made their nest. "H.. Hello.." She mewed, quickly noticing the rogue holding her son. "I.. Yes, that's.. Thank you.."
Padding over, Moose gently took her son from the stranger, immediately pulling him close and showering him with her rough tongue, both as a happy greeting that he was back with her safely and somewhat of a punishment for sneaking out to begin with.

Mara nodded, backing up a step to let the mother have more peace of mind and show that she didn't want to threaten her. "You don't need to thank me. No kit deserves what probably would have happened to him if he got lost and you couldn't find him. Besides, I was just in the right place at the right time," she said quite meekly compared to how she normally was. Even if the kit wasn't eaten by a passing predator, life without parents was a rough lot, Mara knew that from experience.

"Still.. Thank you," Moose nodded to her. A mewl came from the bush and the queen bristled, glancing back at it with a look of dismay in her eyes as she lifted Timber from the scruff and carried him back in the nest. Robin was trembling and coughing, mewling for the comfort of her mother as she hacked. The queen forced a soothing purr as she nuzzled her kit, wincing at how hot to the tough her little body was.
Her kit was getting worse. That was clear. Moose had no idea how to help her.. But..
"Excuse me?" Moose turned and peeked out the nest at the stranger molly once more. "Do you.. Ah... Know anything about healing? Please, anything at all.."

(Hello! I am back! College is insane (I have a feeling that I'm going to be saying that a lot these days... >.<), so thank you all for your patience!) Featherspark felt a smile wind its way across her face as she slowed to a halt beside Mooncloud and took in the unobscured view of the river. Though small at first, it quickly blossom, growing brighter and broader until her whole face was split with the grin. "It's lovely," she purred, allowing herself a few, tentative steps closer to the bank once she determined that they didn't place her in too much danger of toppling off of the edge. Though she longed to dip her paws in the cool, crystalline currents, she held back for the momentโcontent simply to drink them in with her other senses until she had a better sense of how to proceed without walking herself straight into a mess. She tilted her head, a playful gleam coming into her eyes. "Care for a swim?" (Apologies for the delay - traveling and time zone changes are getting to me.) The tom quickly dipped his head, before giving a gentle shake of his head. โI apologize, but not at the moment. Iโd be happy to join you in a bit, but Iโm still a bit paranoid about the river, given my fatherโs experience, so Iโll stick-around and watch for now. But, once Iโve processed things a bit, Iโll jump in to join you.โ The glimmering of the sun in the high-parts of a distant hill shortly distracted Mooncloud, and he turned his head to gaze towards the light-source that had just caught his eyes. He fixed his gaze on the hill for a moment to confirm he wasnโt going mad, before scanning the left-side of the valley, as he was lost in the moment. He quickly shook his head and turned back towards the queen, once he realized the moment had passed. โBut, Iโd follow you to the tip of the stream if you still want to have a conversation,โ he offered shyly. The tom hesitated for a bit before cautiously adding, โAnd, thank-you for coming with me.โ

Mara shook her head, running everything she could think of through her mind. It was a rather sad collection. "Likely not enough. I can patch myself up after a fight, but not much more than that," she said, shrugging a little. She was about to turn and walk off when a thought entered her head. She grimaced at the idea, but forced herself to turn back towards the mother. "I might..." she started, hating herself for saying it, "I might be able to take you to a cat who can help you though."

Moose sagged, her ears pinning themselves to her head as she watched the she-cat begin to leave. She hated the helpless feeling being a mother brought at times. She was ready to plead with the molly to stay. She didn't want her dear Robinkit to die. Thankfully, it seems that she didn't need to plead.
"Wh-Who?" Moose's eyes lit up, her desperation clear. "Please.. Please, anyone. I just need enough to make my daughter healthy again. That's all. She's a little thing, how much could she take?"

Mara nodded, forcing all of the ill feelings about the nearby clan out of her mind. "There's a group of cats nearby. They call themselves "Sparrowclan". Among their number is a cat they call the "medicine cat". He spends his entire life learning about healing, and if anyone could save your kit it would be him..." Mara's voice trailed off for a second, thinking about the quickest route to Sparrowclan's camp. She sighed and asked "I guess I should ask if you just want directions, or do you want me to guide you straight to their camp? I figure you could use an extra set of paws transporting Timber."

The last thing that we need is to track down Stagpaw for the evening, only to realize that Jadepaw is nowhere to be found." She chuckled quietly and sat back, letting her tail sweep lazily across the ground as she spoke. "It shouldn't be long; sundown is almost upon us. Nonetheless, I would appreciate the helpโand it might give you a good opportunity to say goodbye to your apprentice before we're all caught up in the excitement of a ceremony."

Yeah, we donโt resume for another two weeks, so currently visiting family in Scandinavia.) Mooncloud nodded his head briefly and gave a gentle smile, as he stood-up and moved closer to the bank of the shore, where he readjusted himself, and sat back down on his haunches. โAgreed, dealing with a damp-pelt, after a refreshing swim, certainly isnโt a favorite thing of mine either. Nonetheless, Iโm glad I was able to share this place with someone else. I donโt think many of our clan know of this place. Hopefully, thatโll change over-time, and more will be able to experience the majesty of this place.โ His gaze lost itself in the gleaming turquoise water of the stream, for a moment, and he could swear that in that very moment, he saw his father paddling in the water, trying to get to the shore in a hurry. Out of the corner of his right-eye, he saw his reflection gleaming in the water, causing the illusion to suddenly pass and vanish before his eyes. He turned back towards Featherspark and continued, โThat being said, there is a certain restfulness that comes from knowing a place, only familiar to a select-few.โ Silence passed from him, once-more, as he padded towards the left doing his best to garner a respectful distance from the queen. Once the distance was great-enough, he dipped his two front-paws cautiously into the coursing water, keeping his back-legs were firmly anchored in the ground with his claws, so he could take a drink and clear his parched throat.

(Very cool! I've never been there!)
Featherspark nodded slowly, a thoughtful hum of agreement escaping her throat. "I've always felt that way about my favorite spotsโalways preferred to harbor them as a collection of secrets that only I knew. It felt so powerful, having somewhere to retreat to where I could be completely alone. It's like another world out here." She shook her head, smiling softly at the silliness of her own musings as she ventured deeper into the rushing stream. Soon enough, she felt the sloping ground begin to drop away beneath her, and she lifted her paws to suspend herself in the water completely. "I often thought of it as selfishness when I was younger," she admitted as her paws churned with powerful ease to keep her afloat. "But, now, I've come to see it more as a sign of respect. Part of the beauty of certain places lies in their serenity. If too many pairs of paws trod on them at once, they lose that sense of mystery that makes them so unique. Though this particular spot is far enough awayโ" she addedโ"and wondrous enough in itself that I'm sure it will maintain its magic, no matter how many of our clanmates it houses."

(No worries! ^-^)
Jadepaw perked up as she caught sight of Mistyfur exiting the leader's den. She tracked her mentor with her gaze, ears pricked and eyes glimmering with barely-contained curiosity. "Hey!" She called, waving the older she-cat over with a friendly sweep of her bushy tail. "What are you up to tonight?"

(Sorry for disappearing, I keep getting distracted every time I go to respond)
"Sparrowclan.." Moose echoed warily. She didn't know if putting her kit's life in the paws of another cat was safe, but what choice did she have at this point? Robin was going to die at this rate. The poor thing could barely nurse without coughing up whatever she'd eaten and was getting horribly thin. She at least needed to try. If her kit died because she turned away this help, she'd never be able to forgive herself. "Alright. Yes, okay. Let's go to Sparrowclan."
"I don't want to be a bother.." Moose hesitated. "But.. It would be nice having someone to carry Timber. He doesn't exactly like staying in one place, as you could probably tell. Would you do that for us?"

Mistyfur padded over to Jadepaw with a grin. "Important business, and a whole lot of nothing. Take your pick," she said, flicking her apprentice playfully with her tail. "I think that I've done enough work for the day, and just happen to be looking for someone to chat with for the rest of the evening. Any chance that you would be up for filling that role?" Mistyfur asked, sitting down next to her apprentice and wrapping her tail around her paws.
Mara nodded, her normal cold attitude breaking down into a more caring look as she considered the situation again. The clan certainly wouldn't be happy to see her again, but when a kit's life is at stake she wasn't going to say no no matter what the request was. "I'll carry him. Grab the other one and follow me," Mara said quietly. She turned to locate Timber and when she did, she gently picked him up by his scruff and carried him out of the den, pausing to wait for Moose as she exited.

A fond smile spread across Jadepaw's face, curling her muzzle and sending a glimmer to her eyes. "I'd be honored," she purred, sittng up straighter and giving the messiest parts of her pelt a few quick, smoothing licks as her mentor settled down. She feltโas she often did in moments of deep thoughtโa distinct sense of gratefulness for the mentor that she had been given through nothing more than luckโand Sparrowstar's wisdom. Such intelligent and patient teachers were surely hard to find. "How have your last couple of days been?" She asked, tilting her head to peer with interest at Mistyfur.

"I've been..." Mistyfur started, running her mind through what she had been doing for the last few days. She blushed when she realized that most of her time had been spent with Sootstripe. Her words stumbled to a halt as she tried to think of a way of wording it that wouldn't embarrass herself too much. "Fishing. A lot of fishing," she said somewhat lamely, her eyes shifting to the side slightly as her blush deepened under her fur. She shifted her gaze back to Jadepaw and she continued talking. "I've found a really nice spot to go fishing. The water isn't too deep, and there's a rock for basking in the sun right next to the shore.

"That sounds wonderful," Jadepaw replied, doing her best to keep her voice genuine even as a smirk threatened to creep across her face at Mistyfur's obvious discomfort. Though she didn't know the details of her mentor's social life, it was clear enough, even to an uninvolved apprentice, that somethingโor someoneโhad knocked the dusky she-cat off her axis in a distinctly positive way. She knew that it wasn't her place to ask questions, and yet...she couldn't help but push a bit, just for the fun of it. "I'd love to see it sometime. How'd you find it?"

Timber tried to pull away from Mara when she located him, though it didn't do much to stop him from being lifted. The kit mewled and flailed his paws in agitation, weakly twisting in Mara's grip. He was still too young to fight strongly enough and that clearly annoyed him.
Moose nodded quickly and ducked back into the bush. Robin coughed and squeaked, mewling for her mother. Moose nuzzled her before gingerly lifting her up and following after Mara.

Mistyfur paused to think about the best way to word things. Finally, she decided that there wasn't a point to hiding things as long as she didn't make a big deal out of it. "I was out hunting with Sootstripe. We decided to head down to the stream and just walked up the bank until we found it. Since it was the perfect fishing spot, we decided to stay there for the day." She said.
Mara adjusted her pace so that she was only slightly ahead of Moose. As she walked, she ran her thoughts through what was likely to happen when she walked into the Sparrowclan camp. Most likely the reaction would not be positive from anyone who remembered her. She called back to Moose as best as she could around Timber, "Just letting you know, we might not recieve the warmest welcome from Sparrowclan when we get there. There is no way they would refuse to help your kit, but don't expect them to let me hang around."

(If you're a fan of oceans and mountains, I'm sure you'd love it! Apologies for the long delay, just got back from our trip. Timezones were a bit too much to handle and wi-fi wasnโt the most reliable. Iโm glad to be back, nonetheless!) The black tom found his head nodding, somewhat unconsciously, in appreciation and agreement with Feathersparkโs words. He slowly and deliberately withdrew himself from the water, until he was back on safe-shore where he could sit back on his haunches, and resume talking more freely. โI felt the same way. A twang of guilt always lingered with me when I came here, in my earlier days in the clan, seeing as how I was keeping the knowledge of this place to myself. But, I would now agree that there is a beauty to keeping wondrous things preserved for a few, as that may be part of what makes these things so grand.โ He paused for a moment, as his eyes surveyed the place that flooded his mind with fog and mist, gradually trying to appreciate and digest the wonders of the hidden valley. Still, despite his many travels here, words and senses still failed him and couldnโt process something so serene and tranquil. Places like these were simply beyond words, sense, and even imagination, to a certain-extent. He turned his head back towards the queen and continued, โIt never ceases to amaze me how places like this are at a deceptive stand-still. At first-glance, there is no sign of aging or change, almost as if the valley itself is just content on existing and letting the moons slip on by, while it slumbers peacefully and quietly, in the backgroundโฆโ

( spฮฑcั Yay! I hope you had a wonderful time!) Featherspark closed her eyes and hummed appreciatively, letting the metaphor wash over her as she swayed in the gentle current. Feeling herself begin to float downstream, she gave a few swift kicks to place herself even with Mooncloud again before the current swept her absentminded form away. "I really does seem gthsat way, doesn't it?" She purred quietly. "There are a few places, even within our territory, that don't seem to have changed a bit since the first time that I saw them as an apprentice. Has this place changed over the years, or is it just as you remember it?" She asked with a gentle, curious tilt of her head. "Sounds nice," Jadepaw replied with a shrug. She let her jaws stretch wide in a yawn for a moment, the combination of warm sun and the long, late-afternoon shadows creeping across the ground lulling her into a sleepy contentment. "Was there plenty of prey? I'm sure it';ll come in handy once leafbare hitsโif it ever comes," she added with an affectionate sweep of her tail at the surrounding, summer air. "Not that I'm complaining exactly."

Mistyfur nodded. "There was plenty of fish. We didn't really go after any other prey while we were there, so I can't really tell you if it would be a good hunting spot as well," she said. Moose's ears flattened a bit with worry as she padded along with Mara. Her kit mewed and fidgeted, most likely smelling her worry. "Why is that? What happened?" Mara seemed like a pretty nice molly. She brought Timber back and agreed to bring her somewhere that would help Robin.. Why wouldn't these cats like her? Was it something she did? Was this place not full of cats as nice as her? These were worrying thoughts..

Mara shrugged. She had decided to give it Moose honestly, and she wasn't about to go back on that decision. "There was a fight... A really big one. I picked the wrong side," she said, padding slowly through the brush towards the Sparrowclan border. She then decided to add a comment to sooth Moose's unrest a bit. "Regardless of how they feel about me though, I'm sure they'll make you feel welcome there. I might not be on the best terms with them, but your kit will be in good paws there."

Moose nodded silently, trying to relax. It still made her uneasy that a cat this Sparrowclan didn't quite like was leading her into their territory. What if they attacked them? Even by mistake, her kits were only a moon old! If they got hurt, it could be fatal. If she got her, how were they going to nurse? Still, she needed to hang on to the possibility that things would be alright. She needed little Robin to be healed.
"Alright.." she said finally, her voice soft and slightly muffled over her kit's fluff.

Mara nodded, understanding Moose's worry. "They don't attack on sight, it's viewed as dishonorable. We'll have time to explain ourselves, and when they hear that there's a kit in danger they will let us walk straight to their healer without giving out anything other than some harsh words. There's no danger to you or your kits."

Moose nodded once more. She had no choice, in her eyes, anyway. Her kit needed help. If these cats were able to help, she'll try. There was no way for her to heal Robin on her own. She was willing to come in and out of the territory, just this once if it meant Robin would be healed. She'll even take the medicine and leave if she has to. She just wanted to make sure her daughter was alright. She just hoped all the cats had the mindset Mara was describing.
"Are we almost there?" she spoke up after a brief pause.
