( sorry I wasnโt on when you posted since I work 3rd shift I have weird sleep times but Iโll start since I wasnโt around) Smokenose blinked his icy blue eyes awake, the semi dark warriors den seemed odd at first due to his dream of a beautiful day of hunting. He chuckled to himself realizing it was just a dream and got to his paws, he shook out his fur and exited the den. A big yawn caught him off guard as he glanced around the bussing camp. โI wonder what exciting tales there will be todayโ he thought to himself (No worries! And great!) "Mmfh," Firestrike murmured, blinking against the bright beam of light seeping into the den from above. He rolled onto his back and glared acusingly at the roof to find a small hole squarely above his nest. He smirked sleepily. Just my luck.Nonetheless, he was awake now, so he heaved his ginger body into a standing position and slipped quietly from the den, sending a curious glance around the clearing that opened up before him. He paused mid-step as a flash of movement caught his eye, and he turned to find Smokenose not far ahead of him. "Good morning!" He called, dipping his head in a curt greeting to the tom.

The large speckled tom only nodding as he took a bite of his mouse, chewing thoughtfully before smiling. "Well, this wasn't my first life. For awhile I only ate kittypet food. I was over 12 moons old by the time I actually had a piece of prey for the first time." (Just noticed you didn't add that he has a crush on Jadepaw to the relations) (Oh, you're right! Fixed it! xD) Jadepaw hummed thoughtfully, her eyes bright with interest as she leaned down to take a bite of the prey. She let out an inadvertent purr at the pleasant flavor, her stomach growling its approval. "Did someone teach you?" She asked, tilting her head to face Onkรณdis more directly. "Or did you just figure out how to hunt on your own?"

"I didn't learn to hunt until I was found by Sparrowclan. I was nearly starved and very weak but I pushed through and managed to grow stronger everyday that passed until I could learn to hunt and fight." The tom replied smoothly, thinking back to that time and everything he had gone through.

Featherspark let out a gentle sigh, the sound laced with equal parts contentment and relief. After a lovelyโand energeticโsession with Fishkit and Rabbitkit, the little ones had begun to whine for a napโa request that Featherspark was more than happy to accomodate. She smiled to herself as she backed toward the nursery's entrance and slipped from the den, her gaze lingering on the softly snoozing kits right up until the moment when the thickly-woven walls concealed them from sight. It had been a lovely end to the morning; there truly was little that she enjoyed more than whiling away the hours with the young souls in her care. As bittersweet as it was not to share each lovely moment with her lost mate, each one never ceased to bring her joy, spirit, and peace. She arched her spine into a quick stretch, then shook out her pelt as she began to make her way to the warriors' den. Despite the kits' exhaustion, energy sung down Featherspark's spine and seemed to crackle from her paws with every step. Rejuvinated, she longed to wander out of camp and revel in the fresh airโnot to mention that Fishkit had requested a detailed description of every valley and landmark that she could find upon her return. She paused at the entrance of the warriors' den, then poked her silver head carefully inside in search of a familiar, dark pelt. If Mooncloud was still sleeping, she wouldn't bother himโbut, if not, she saw no harm in taking him up on his earlier offer. "Hello?" She called quietly. "Mooncloud, are you awake?" (Perfect, thank you!) The black-pelted tom felt his senses trying to stir him from his slumber, as a noise called out for his name. His ears flickered as he gently opened his eyes and shone his green-eyes around the room, in search of the source of the noise. His fatigued eyes slightly caught the outline of a silver-lit pelt, illuminated by the radiant sun-beams. His mind still a bit slow, he was forced to squint to see if he could recognize which cat the sliver-pelt he belonged to. His ears working a bit quicker than his eyes or mind, he was eventually able to piece together that the voice and pelt belonged to Featherspark. He gently shook his head and got to his feet, while doing his best to avoid any other sleeping-figures, and padded out to the den's opening. He exited the den and sat down a few paces away from it, before meowing with a slight purr, "I'm glad to see you, again. Where should we head off to hunt?"

Jadepaw nodded solemly, pausing her munching for the moment to give Onkรณdis her full attention. "That's amazing," she commented with unusual care. "And brave. I've been practicing my hunting skills since I first stepped out of the nursery, and I can still barely do it right!" She offered a smile, her thoughtful tentativeness beginning to fade as quickly as it had appeared. "Did you have a specific 'mentor' when you joined the clan? Who taught you?"
Featherspark let a purr escape her mouth as Mooncloud rose to join her. "I hope that this wasn't an inconvenience," she added anyway, dipping her head in a silent apology. "I can certainly relate to needing a bit more time to sleep, if that's the case." Nevertheless, though her offer was genuine, her azure eyes had already trailed to the camp entrance and the splotches of green visible just beyond. She let them fall closed for a moment as she relished the warmth of the sunโnow at full strength as the time drew toward mid-dayโon her pelt. "Well, I promised Fishkit that I would give him a report of as much of the territory as we can cover," she teased, her whiskers twitching with affectionate amusement. "So I should warn you that you're signing yourseld up for quite the adventure. Still, as for where to start...I always vote for somewhere near the water."

Smokenose heard a rustle from the den behind him and turned to see the ginger warrior emerge from the den also. โgood morning to you too Firestrike!โ He meowed with a big smile also dipping his head to the fellow tom โhow did you sleep last night? Any good dreams?โ He meowed the smile still beaming on his face

Onkรณdis quickly shook his head, his fur shaking with the movement as well. "No, I would mainly just go out with whoever was open to train me. I was never given an official mentor."

My eyes needed to rest for a bit, they had probably seen a bit much, today. Weโll be going for quite the hike, then, I take it? That kit has an incredible amount of curiosity flowing through him. Itโs quite the wonder heโs as shy and kind, as he is.โ He paused, thinking back to the moment he counter the youngling that reminded him so much of himself. He shook his head and his pelt lightly, mostly to try to shake off the fatigue that still encompassed him, but also to clear his mind of anything that ailed him. โThe water sounds lovely, my throat finds itself parched, again. But, I think you may better know the way to the streams that run through our territory. I usually go to the same one, and havenโt got much memory on where to go for any others.โ He dipped his head gently and finished, โIf you would kindly lead the way?โ

(Sorry for slow response.) "A lot," Mistyfur said quietly, flicking her mind through a list of things that he had done for her. She then put on a big grin and spoke a bit louder "Well, for starters you make for an amusing fishing partner. I doubt anyone else in the clan would be such good company. Other than that, you put up with my nonsense more than anyone else, so thats a plus," she said, half joking, half serious. She shook off the water that still clung to her pelt and padded over to the rock. "I think that I have caught enough fish to prove that I have been productive, might as well take a rest to warm back up."

Firestrike did his best to level a stern gaze at Smokenose in response to the tom's cheery demeanor, but he failed to keep a small, amused smile from flitting across his face. he had never been much of an early bird, and had an unfortunate habit of making sure that everyone else knew it, yetโ At least someone is happy to be awake. "How are you doing today?" He asked, shaking his head vigorously to dispel the yawn that threatened to creep from his jaws. He quickened his steps to catch up to the gray tom, then fell into step beside him. "Huh," Jadepaw replied, impressed. She paused the conversation as she leaned forward to take another bite of the mouse at her paws, then nudged it gently toward Onkรณdis with her nose. It was the least that she could do, she thought with a chuckle, to let him get a few mouthfuls in before she polished off the whole meal. "Were the other warriors mostly willing to teach you, or did they give you trouble? I don't think we've had a new face join the clan since I was in the nursery." "Of course," Featherspark replied, spinning swiftly and setting off for the camp entrance. She hardly had to think to steer herself to the riverbanks now; her paws seemed to know each winding path by heart, as if they were forever called back to those glittering waters. Once she had slipped from the grassy tunnel leading away from the clearing and had shaken away the scattered scraps of green and gold that had settled in her pelt, she paused to wait for Mooncloud. "He is a wonder, isn't he?" She purred, her mind flitting back to Mooncloud's earlier comments about her son. "I adore them both, but Fishkit is really something special. I think he'll make an excellent asset to the clanโand a good friendโonce he finds his footing." ( ๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ No worries!) Sootstripe felt his chest warm with affection at Mistyfur's words, and he let a loud purr escape his throat. "Finally!" He teased as he watched her wind a path away from the river's edge. "You're taking a well-deserved break; I've done my duty." He fixed his gaze on the river once again, determined to add one more catch to his comparatively unimpressive 'pile' of one before he settled down again. One swipe of his paw later, he had swept a small trout onto the bank and rossed it proudly alongside his earlier catch. "I think I deserve a rest, too, if I do say so myself," he laughed as he trotted over to join Mistyfur. Once he was at her side, he flicked his tail affectionately along her spine and added quietly, "All of those things that you mentioned are nothing compared to the good that you've done me."

The tom gave a light laugh and nodded. "They pushed me hard. Mainly because they felt I needed to prove myself in a way. They looked past my size and treated me like an equal after I did so. I have a family here now, the clan is my family." He smiled softly.

"Of course," Featherspark replied, spinning swiftly and setting off for the camp entrance. I think he'll make an excellent asset to the clanโand a good friendโonce he finds his footing." The tom followed closely behind Featherspark, doing his best to keep up with her, so he would not get lost. Once he had reached our side, he nodded in agreement, meowing "I agree, once he gains his ground and finds his place within the clan, he should be very helpful and a good friend and ally. Rabbitkit is also something to be proud of, but... as you said, there is something about Fishkit that little to no-one else has." He looked around his surroundings to do his best to orient himself. Since they were still close to the camp, he was able to roughly pace where they were, and in which direction they would be heading. But, he figured that as they got further away, he would venture off into uncharted territory, to him at least. He would have to do his best to keep his eyes and wits sharp, so he would be able to memorize the path they blazed. โItโll be interesting to watch where StarCan takes him, and of-course, what path he will choose for himself.โ

"I agree," Featherspark purred, adjusting her pace almost unconciously so that she fell smoothly into step with Mooncloud. "With Rabbitkit, it's much easier for me to guess where her path will leadโprobably because we'e so similar. She'll train hardโmost of the time, at leastโand fall in love with the life of a warrior. Fishkit, on the other handโ" She shook her head and let a contented sigh escape her mouth. There was no doubt in the silver she-cat's mind that both of her kits would serve their clan noblyโand, much more importantly, that they would be happy within it. Nonetheless, her quiet, compassionate son remained a bit of a delightful mystery to her. "He's doesn't quite resemble me or Dustleap. He's his own little wonder." She shook her head, her eyes beginning to trace the trail blazed by her gray-and-white paws as she tucked away the colors and textures into her mind for future retrieval. "Thank you for being so kind to him; I think he really enjoyed meeting you."

"I had a late patrol last night, and the sun seems to have decided to usher in the day before I had a chance to catch up on my much-needed rest." He tilted his head back and rolled his eyes at the sky playfully, as if to chastise its inconsiderate rhythms. "Maybe a little bit of your energy will rub off on me. Where are you headed today?"

The clan really was a familyโat least to her, having grown up fully immersed within its culture. It was comforting to hear that that familial warmth extended to those whose origins lay elsewhere. "I'm glad." She sat back contentedly, fighting the yawn that sought to escape from her jaws. "I think we're all better off for having you here, anyway."

"Well, every warrior is an asset to the clan," she replied simply, unperturbed by the tom's inquiry. The tom dipped his head and paused to carefully gather his thoughts, before he opened his mouth. โI am glad to hear that, I enjoyed meeting him, as well. Heโs quite the unique cat, in his own special way. I look forward to seeing how he grows-up and what he chooses to become.โ He hesitated before continuing, โForgive me, if I start speaking illy, but he kind of reminds me of myselfโฆ His boundless curiosity, the kind, shy, and gentle spiritโฆโ His mew trailed off as he got lost in the moment and the spirit of the past, before he gently shook his head and gave Featherspark a gentle and apologetic smile. โHopefully heโll find himself in the clan soon enough. Though, he may be lost and consumed by the territory, more than anything else. But, whatever path he chooses Iโm sure itโll be the right one for him. As for Rabbitkit, she may not need our high-praises. I think she may already know who she is and what she wants.โ His mind slowly returned to the present and his green eyes started to rapidly blink, as his surroundings slowly began to take more precedence and the color seemingly leapt out at him. He hesitated and words caught in his mouth, as he found only empty and ironically lifeless air in his throat, which he slowly and gradually forced out and spun into a coherent ramble. โIf I may ask and change the conversation for a sight second, are you holding up-alright? Hopefully our earlier conversation was of help? I know it was for me, and Iโd hope that feeling was mutual?โ

( Jekyll Yeah! I'm just waiting for a logical breaking point (and for Mistyfur and Sootstripe to come back to camp so that Jadepaw doesn't have her ceremony with a missing mentor x3)) "Well, there's advantages to being able to avoid fighting, too," Jadepaw replied with a grin. Her tabby tail swished contentedly through the dust at her back as she spoke. "I've always liked battle training better than hunting, to be honest," she admitted. "It's not that I like fighting, exactly, or causing harm; I think I just like knowing that I would be able to defend my clan if I ever needed to." "Oh, absolutely," Featherspark replied, a sigh escaping her jaws in her haste to communicate her gratitude. "Thinking about Dustleap still hurts as much as ever_not that I expected the pain to fade so quickly after one conversationโbut I feel...much more hopeful now." She shook her head, turning her gaze to her surroundings for a moment as she endeavored to gather her jumbled thoughts and words into something coherent. She set about counting the hills on the horizon to occupy the swirl of emotion in the back of her mind as she opened her mouth to reply. One, two, three... "I feel as if it will be possible to look at my kits and know how proud he would have been of them without the thought filling me with grief. That's what I want mostโfor the memories of him to feel less bitter and more sweet. And I think I can get there," she finished, shifting her ardent gaze toward Mooncloud once again. "Thanks to you."

Onkรณdis smiled softly and nodded his head to the she-cat. "Being able to fight well is a talent all should have. I'm glad you feel so strongly about it, for defending your clan is something that all should have within their mind at all times." "And all of those things I mentioned are nothing compared to the full list," Mistyfur said quietly, twining her tail with Sootstripe's. She glanced over at him and smiled, glad to have another moment to themselves. She then lay her head in her paws and closed her eyes, letting the sunlight spread warmth across her pelt. As she did so, she tuned her senses towards Sootstripe and found happiness in just having him next to her. It was so peaceful that if she didn't have more self control she would have fallen asleep on the spot.

The black tom dipped his head, appreciatively, before turning his green-eyes back towards her, to temporarily engage in the matter once more. โIโm glad to hear that. Itโll continue to hurt for some-time, but, I promise, it will get better. Once the mind has fully processed it all, the pain will start to fade and subside. There will always be some-amount of sorrow, Iโm afraid - at least thatโs how itโs been in my experience - but, itโll be much more manageable and youโll find more joy that it happened, than sorrow that itโs all over.โ Having said a few last-words and done his best to end the matter in a more completed fashion, Mooncloud decided to move the conversation to a different topic, to ensure they wouldnโt become too trapped in the past, yet-again. He hesitated for a moment, wanting to speak true to his intentions, but, the words failed him and wouldnโt form in his throat. So, instead, he decided to do his best to convey his intentions, by leaving it up to the sympathy that he hoped his eyes reflected, and the understanding they had both developed, by discussing and having experienced the same harrowing event. โBut, if it ever comes up-again, feel free to find me. Speaking of finding, perhaps I could show you the valley that I talked to Fishkit about this morning? Itโs quite beautiful and Iโm sure youโll enjoy the sights. As an added bonus, you could take the curious youngster there some-day, as I may have made him a bit too curious about it, having talked about it a bit much. Itโs not terribly far away from camp, if youโd be willing to indulge me, again, some-time?โ

Jadepaw dipped her head gratefully, a proud smile flitting across her muzzle for a moment. "Hopefully, I'll never need to use my battle skillsโbut it's nice to practice them, all the same," she added with an offhand twitch of her tail. She shook her head and glanced up at the sky, blinking in surprise at how high the sun had climbed over the course of their outing. "Speaking of which, I should probably stop taking up your time and try to find Mistyfur." Sootstripe felt a purr rumble pleasantly through his chest as he settled into his space beside Mistyfur. He allowed his muscles to relax, soothed by the warmth of the sun and he comforting feeling of Mistyfur so close-by. He twitched his ears against the breeze that fluttered over them and nestled his head more deeply between his paws. Time seemed to stretch out and fade to mist above the water. "I guess we've both done each other some good, then," he decided quietly, his voice dragging into something near a yawn of sleepy contentment. ( ๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ Should we have Misty and Soot head back to camp soon so that Jadepaw can find her and/or have/consider her ceremony?) "Of course," Featherspark purred, the dimness of shared grief largely fading from her eyes as she fixed her mind on the new task ahead. In truth, she was glad for the distraction; though she felt the wound in her chest beginning to knit itself back together stitch-by-stitch with each mention of her lost mate, she was beginning to question whether she posessed the strength to delve any further into the memories so soon after unearthing them. Healing would come slowly, she was sureโjust as Mooncloud had said. At least for the moment, she decided, she had pushed herself enough. "Let's go today," she suggested, twitching her ears against a light breeze that filtered between them. "If you're willing. The river can waitโand I have a feeling that you're right about Fishkit's curiosity. I'm sure that he'll ask me about it the moment that we return to camp, so I might as well have an answer for him." She chuckled softly, then glanced thoughtfully at Mooncloud. "Plus, I'd love to see it for myself, if it's as beautiful as you say. It sounds like a lovely place to spend the day."
