Jadepaw jogged after Onkódis and swiftly dropped her prey next to his atop the fresh-kill pile. Though she had contributed plenty of catches to the communal supply by now, she couldn't help but let her chest puff just a bit with pride; she was serving her clan, after all, as any good warrior should. "I wonder whether Mistyfur is back by now," she inquired aloud, glancing around camp but seeing no evidence of the familiar, gray pelt of her mentor. Out of the blue, she tilted her head and glanced back at her morning companion. "Have you ever had an apprentice?"

@jadepaw4evahhi It's no trouble. I have a ton of characters I can add into this rp so)) Oh, that would be awesome then, if you want to! ^-^ Thanks—Jadepaw has been an apprentice since Sparrowclan first started, so she probably deserves her warrior name by now...even if she'll probably always be a troublemaking apprentice at heart x3)

Onkódis immediately shook his head, letting out a light sigh. "No, I haven't. I've always wanted to mentor an apprentice but I guess with me not having been clan born Sparrowstar is a bit questionable about giving me one. I'm sure I'll be given one some day though."

Whiskey | 120 moons | whiskey is a burly tom, slightly round in the stomach with powerful back legs and broad shoulders, with big paws. He has very long hair that almost appears scraggly, making him look unkept, but he doesn’t spend too much time grooming anyways. Whiskey’s left ear is completely torn to shreds and his right ear is almost completely missing. He has two scars above his right eye and a long scar along his nose bridge. Whisky has a long scar down his left hind quarter that is parted in his fur. Whiskey got his name by his owners from his coppery orange coat, with dark brown stripes (that have almost faded due to his age). Whiskey had a white muzzle that flecks towards his cheeks and white paws. He has one snaggle tooth that juts out of his mouth on the right side giving him a slightly lopsided look. He also has very intense orange eyes. Whiskey is a very laid back character though sometimes comes off as cocky. He has very little patience with younger cats and honestly doesn’t like to deal with a whole lot of drama. When whiskey was younger he was active in sparing and definitely liked to pick on the clan cats, but with old age he’d rather just hang about and live his life yet this doesn’t mean he isn’t capable of delivering a nasty blow. Whiskey has a rather sarcastic demeanour and is rather charming (has a country kind of accent). Whiskey also knows how to speak dog. | rogue | Fawnhearts

Fishkit felt a deep purr rumble from his throat at Mooncloud's comforting words. He shook his head, the glee sparking through him revealing itself only in a rather bright smile—especially for the shy, young tom. It seemed to him that he had never met someone—outside of his mother, of course—who regarded him with such faith and approval. His chest warmed at the thought of his particular skill-set—though undoubtedly less flashy than some of his nurserymates' battle moves—making him an asset to the clan nonetheless. That was all that he really wanted, after all, for his future as a warrior—to feel useful to someone outside of himself. Releasing a breath, he made a mental note to watch for Mooncloud's dark pelt around camp; he had a feeling that he woud be seeking out quite a bit more advice from the kindly tom, if he could manage to get it. "What was your favorite thing about training?" He asked eagerly, drawing boldness from his desire to extend the conversation for a few moments more. "Whatever it is, I think I'd like it, too—and I want to make sure that I don't miss it." The tom dipped his head and a small purr escaped his mouth again, as he meowed, “Good Question.” Mooncloud closed his eyes, in a daring attempt to let the not too distant past consume him and search his memory for the most joyful moments, of his youth. A thousand memories of his time with his mother rushed through his mind, in that instant. But, a few stood-out in particular, and they all had one trait in particular; they were all located in the valley and he was exploring the lush greenery. He did his best to keep those moments close to him, for a second, before he exhaled his breath slowly deeply and opened his eyes. “I actually am very similar to you, in that regard. Exploring my surroundings was one of the things I loved to do most. Some of my favorite memories come from the time I spent in a valley that isn’t all too far away from here. Most of the time, I just loved discovering what the scenery hid away from the rest of the world. When I wasn’t exploring I was taught to try use my surroundings to hide and give me an edge on foes. I’m not your fastest cat, so stealth would be of great use to me.” He paused to allow himself to consider and gather his mind and words, and let a small fit of laughter pass through his chest. “I was mostly trained to use large batches of ferns, grass, and trees, to help me gain that advantage. I don’t know how well that would work for you, or if your mentor would recommend it, but, whenever you get the time, the valley is quite the sight to see. Even if you don’t use it for skill practice.”

Mistyfur bit back a yelp of surprise as she took another batch of cold water to the face. She reeled back and nearly fell over backwards in an only slighty overdramatic fashion, managing to correct herself barely on time. She glared playfully at Sootstripe as she ran her mind through the possible options for a comeback. Finally, she settled on the "elegant" and effective method of tackling him when he wasn't aware and sending them both back into the shallows.

He hadn't heard much about this particular valley—at least, not that he could recall in particular—yet, from Mooncloud's description, it sounded like a scene positively brimming with wonder. At the mention of stealth, the young tom glanced from Mooncloud's dark pelt to his bright silver one; the lush feathering along his belly and legs—forever catching the light—had never leant itself particularly well to melting seamlessly into the trees. "Hiding in the ferns might come in handy," he replied thoughtfully, lifting a delicate paw as if examining his coloring more closely could reveal an answer to his plight. He'd always heard the apprentices speak of stealth-training in terms of quiet pawsteps, and yet— "It makes sense. We can be as silent as mice—but, if we're standing out for all to see, it can only do so much." He shook his head, once again admiring this intelligent tom, with all of his cleverly unfamiliar—yet wholly welcome—ideas. "I wish the rest of the clan thought more like you do," he murmured, earnest yet quiet—not wanting to call too much attention from anyone who might be listening from afar.

Sootstripe wailed, his exclamation of surprise turning briefly to a laugh before it was stifled beneath the water. Once his muzzle had broken through the surface again, he spit the water from his lungs and turned his glittering glare on Mistyfur. "Oh, you're in trouble now," he play-growled, pushing off against the pebbly base of the river with his hind paws. Though he nearly tumbled back beneath the waves, he managed to hurl himself in Mistyfur's direction; if he was going down again, then he'd make sure that she did, too.

I'll speak with Mistyfur as soon as she returns to camp, though I'm not sure when that'll be." He stretched his back, sighing as the base of his spine gave a satisfying pop. "Would you like to share some prey for now?"

Mooncloud let another purr escape his maw, at the compliment and nodded his head in appreciation. “I appreciate you saying so. Though, Sparrowstar seems to have a steady-grasp and may know better than I what the clan needs at the given moment.” The past suddenly lunged at him and invaded the corners of his mind, as their amicable exchange caused his mind to become trapped in the past, despite his immediate will and mindset. Images of his trainings with his mother reappeared in his mind and consumed his thoughts. The most prominent memory that caught his attention involved him attempting stealth among the valley’s tree-tops, slowly clawing his way to the tip of the branch. When he reached the tip, he crouched and was able to spot his mother attentively looking around, trying to spot where he had went. It took him a while to gain the courage to actually take the leap, but he eventually did, and caught his mother by surprise. It wasn’t the tallest of trees, but it was high enough to where he felt a sting of pain, as he landed. Though, the pain he felt quickly subsided and was replaced with joy and laughter, at his mother’s praise and the joy he felt of being able to trick the clever she-cat. His eyes gently fluttered open, as the memories faded from his mind, and he found himself smiling at the young kit, slightly embarrassed for the pause and silence that consumed the room, as his mind was roaming. “But, I’m sure you’ll have your legacy and skills to add to the clan. Hopefully, they’ll be able to learn from such a clever cat, as yourself.” He paused for a bit and was tempted to inform the kit of his… richer … past, but the words wouldn’t leave his throat and he resolved to ask Featherspark before he got the kit hung up in his unique tales. Laughter filled his maw and got caught in his throat, as the words that were forming started to take cohesion and form at the tip of his tongue. "That being-said, perhaps the clan could, eventually, benefit from our unique points of view!" He smiled as he gazed at the young kit again and a purr emanated from the quiet tom's throat, before he shifted his gaze to where both kits where within his line of sight, so no one would feel unappreciated. "It was wonderful speaking to you both. I'm afraid I'm feeling thirsty, so I must say goodbye for now. But be sure to talk to me, whenever you spot me. As long as your mother's fine with that, of-course." As the last words left his mouth, he turned his gaze to focus, rather exclusively, on Fishkit and his sympathy-filled eyes did their best to impart that the words were intended for him alone.

A smile flitted across Jadepaw's muzzle as she turned her attention to her stomach just in time to hear it growl insistently. "I don't think I can say no to a meal right now," she laughed, striding back toward the fresh-kill pile to examine their options. "What's your favorite type of prey?" She called over her shoulder, then flicked her tail to indicate that Onkódis should come and offer his input on the choice at hand. "I'll eat anything...except fish."
Featherspark had retreated slowly away—step-by-step—to watch contentedly and offer plenty of room as Mooncloud had captured the kits' attention. She glanced down at her paws now and strode forward again to rejoin the conversation, her chest full of warmth at the sight of her little ones' conversing with such gentleness and excitement. "It's fine by me," she inserted, a laugh chiming in her words. "Fishkit and Rabbitkit would be lucky to have the chance to chat with you again—as would I." As she turned her gaze directly to Mooncloud, gratitude shone on her face—for the kindness and patience that he had shown toward her kits, for the comfort that he had so generously offered to her, and simply for standing by her side in a moment of need. Thank you for everything, she longed to say—though she knew that the comment would inspire difficult questions from her kits that she was far too exhausted to answer tactfully at the moment. Nonetheless, she dipped her head and offered another smile. "I hope that the rest of your day is wonderful and that you'll say hello again soon."
Fishkit grew quiet as his mother joined the conversation, retreating back behind the refuge that her talkativeness had always provided. Still, he forced himself to keep his leaf-green eyes on Mooncloud until he met the tom's gaze once again. "It- it was nice to talk to you," he murmured, feeling his usual shyness return now that the conversation was drawing to an end. He felt an odd emptiness pulse in his chest as timidness returned to him like a second pelt, and he shook his head firmly to clear the emotion away. He had escaped it before, and he could do it again; all he needed was a patient interlocutor and a little bit of time. He smiled shyly and glanced from Featherspark, to Mooncloud, to Rabbitkit. "We'll see you soon."

A smile passed over the tom's features as well at the prospect of spending more time with the she-cat. He waited for her to choose but at her question and movement he stepped forward. "I've always been fond of mouse. Maybe because it was the first kind of prey I ever ate." He let out a light chuckle before leaning forward and plucking a large, plump mouse from the pile. "Come on then." He led the way over to a soft patch of grass, laying down among it.

Feel free to talk to me any-time.” He let his tail quickly run down the young kit’s flank, to assure the young cat that they could continue their conversation at a later time, and started to maneuver his way out of the den. As he was leaving, he nodded his head towards Featherspark and quickly spoke to her in a quiet tone, “If you’re still up for it, I’d be happy to go on a hunting patrol.” He gave a glance back in the direction of the kits, “But feel-free to hang out with your kits. They may need your attention more than I, at the moment.” Mooncloud re-directed his attention back towards the she-cat and gave her a gentle smile before finishing, “If you still have any interest, feel free to find me in the warrior’s den. I should be there, soon.” Not wanting to give any further awkward impressions, he hastily exited the den, and headed back towards the camp-entrance, in the direction of a nearby river. On his way to the river, he couldn’t stop re-running the conversation he just had with the younglings. The tom wasn’t one to be easily fascinated or captivated by something, but he simply couldn’t shake the sight of himself in that young form. The fresh and cold water, however, helped clear and parse the thoughts from his mind, and on his way-back, he found himself much more focussed on the beauty of his surroundings. No-longer clinging, or relishing, in the past, the tom walked back in the direction of camp, his tranquil nature having returned. Eventually, he padded through the camp-entrance and headed into the warrior’s den, curling himself into a ball inside his nest, and gently closing his eyes, but still doing his best to pay attention to his surroundings.

Mistyfur managed to clamber back onto the shore before Sootstripe launched himself at her and stuck her tongue out at him, mer eyes glittering with playfulness. "Am I in trouble?" She asked as Sootstripe landed solidly in the water where she just was. She flicked her tail at the beach and continued. "It honestly looks like you're the one in trouble. But today's your lucky day, this beach is big enough for two, and I'm willing to share it."

"I'll see you soon!" Featherspark offered one last smile and waved her silvery tail in farewell as Mooncloud retreated to his other obligations. She turned back to her kits with a contented sigh, lowering herself down to her belly to address them eye-to-eye. As she lost herself in the sound their high-pitched, cheerful voices wrapping all around, she couldn't quite stifle the unexpected sense of joy—no, hope—taking root somewhere deep in her chest. Maybe it was the lovely morning, the company of those that she loved, or the day's much-needed conversations, but she felt herself beginning to unweight herself of a burden that she had hardly realized that she had been carrying. She shook her head with a slight laugh; who was she to question inexplicable wonders? It would serve her far better simply to revel in the moments—and that was just what she intended to do. ( spαcє I'll leave it up to you whether they head out for another hunting patrol :3 Since Mooncloud is your only character, I want to make sure that you have time to RP with others, if you'd like to) Sootstripe managed to recover from the shock of Mistyfur's escape enough to offer her a pointed eye-roll from his place in the water, his dark fur now more thoroughly-soaked than ever. "Oh, how kind of you!" He purred as he floundered toward the bank and managed to drag himself onto the—relatively—dry land. He dipped his head dramatically in a gesture of mock-respect, the scene made all the more comical by the veritable streams of water dripping from his pelt. "What did I ever do to deserve your good-will?"

After a lovely—and energetic—session with Fishkit and Rabbitkit, the little ones had begun to whine for a nap—a request that Featherspark was more than happy to accomodate. She smiled to herself as she backed toward the nursery's entrance and slipped from the den, her gaze lingering on the softly snoozing kits right up until the moment when the thickly-woven walls concealed them from sight. It had been a lovely end to the morning; there truly was little that she enjoyed more than whiling away the hours with the young souls in her care. As bittersweet as it was not to share each lovely moment with her lost mate, each one never ceased to bring her joy, spirit, and peace. She arched her spine into a quick stretch, then shook out her pelt as she began to make her way to the warriors' den. Despite the kits' exhaustion, energy sung down Featherspark's spine and seemed to crackle from her paws with every step. Rejuvinated, she longed to wander out of camp and revel in the fresh air—not to mention that Fishkit had requested a detailed description of every valley and landmark that she could find upon her return. She paused at the entrance of the warriors' den, then poked her silver head carefully inside in search of a familiar, dark pelt. If Mooncloud was still sleeping, she wouldn't bother him—but, if not, she saw no harm in taking him up on his earlier offer. "Hello?" She called quietly. "Mooncloud, are you awake?"
