(School trip to Japan ) Nightheart laughed. "You definetly would have liked her. As for what happened next, there's a little bit more context I need to add. There were less trees in Hawkclan territory, and most of them were taller than any of the trees that you would find in Sparrowclan's territory. There was one tree however that was shorter and easier to climb than the rest. The catch was that it was on the edge of a cliff and terrifying to think of what would happen if you fell. Care to guess which tree Crystalpaw decided to climb?"

((I realized I never posted starters for this Clan! Sorry! ;w; If anyone would like to rp, feel free to take one of these!))
Hollowpaw, Blizzardpaw, and Honeypaw sat near the apprentices den, sharing a meal together. Hollowpaw gave a purr as he ate his mouse. "Mouss are da besht..." he chimed, mouthful. Blizzarpaw nodded, making a "Mmmmpf" sound in agreement. Honeypaw picked at herself slowly, not seeming as hungry as her brothers. "What do you guys want to do today?" Blizzardpaw asked with a lick of his whiskers. "Maybe we could ask our mentors to take us training!" Hollowpaw mewed with excitement. His ears perked at the thought. Blizzardpaw smiled in agreement. "Yeah!" Honeypaw didn't seem to pay them any attention. She just kept slowly eating her vole.
-
Lilyshower lay basking in the sun in front of the warriors den, purring softly. The she-cat was very much enjoying the warmth on her fur. Maybe I'll just take a quick nap right here... Lilyshower thought. She knew that should probably shouldn't because things needed to get done, but it was still tempting. Lilyshower sighed, enjoying the time she had.
-
Maplebreeze and Pineshadow trotted into camp together, mouths full of freshly caught prey. Maplebreeze let out a giggle and bolted forward towards the pile, looking back to her brother. Pineshadow rolled his eyes, setting down his prey shortly after. "You know not everything's a race, right?" he chuckled, shaking his head. Maplebreeze grinned amusingly. "It's not my fault you're just a sore loser!" she teased with a flick of her tail. Pineshadow just sighed heavily. "Sure, Maplebreeze. Whatever you say!"

( 𝓓𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓱 𝓑𝓻𝓪𝓶𝓫𝓵𝓮 Ooh, that's so cool!! I've always wanted to go to Japan!) "No!" Fawnpaw gasped, her jaw dropping open in shock—and more than a few ounces of admiration. "Why did she want to do that?" The young she-cat asked, doing her best to mold her tone into one that was appropriately scandalized. An apprentice doing something bold and inexplicably dangerous...not a wholly unfamiliar topic. A proud gleam in her eye, she added, "Did she make it?" ( Dᴀᴡɴ Rɪsɪɴɢ --» I'll start Featherspark over with Lilyshower for the moment, but I'm happy to have one or two of my warriors go training with your apprentices (I think Featherspark and Sootstripe are both mentors for them, actually!) Let me know what you'd prefer :3) Featherspark stretched her jaws wide in a yawn as she slipped out of the nursery, shaking the last, clinging tendrils of moss from her silvery pelt as she went. With her pair of kits finally old enough to spend a few hours chasing each other around camp without her supervision, she had finally found the time for a much-needed nap. Relishing the warmth of sunlight on her fur, she glanced curiously around camp until her gaze landed on Lilyshower. "Hello," she purred, waving her tail in a cheery greeting to her fellow warrior as she trotted closer. "How are you doing today?"

Nightheart nodded. "Of course she did. If she hadn't, the story wouldn't be half as fun. I don't exactly know why she climbed up, although I suspect it was a dare from another apprentice. Just one day I was sitting in the middle of camp when Pinepaw bolted into camp shouting that my apprentice was stuck in a tree. Naturally everyone in camp had to pause for a second for it to register, and then half the camp was bursting with laughter and the other half, myself included, was rushing out to make sure Crystalpaw wasn't hurt." Mistyfur nodded sagely, "Ah yes. I hate it when that happens. It has been happening less frequently as of late." She paused for a moment before saying, "So... Do you want to go hunting or something?" ( Dᴀᴡɴ Rɪsɪɴɢ --» I have a rogue, the medicine cat, and an apprentice open. Take your pick. )

"Well, at least she brought a bit of excitement to a lazy day around camp," Fawnpaw snickered, her whiskers twitching playfully. Inspired as she listened, half of her mind was already filtering through every notable tree that she could think of, seeking out the proper backdrop for her next feat of courage. "She definitely sounds like my kind of cat. How did she manage to get down?"

Mistyfur smiled at the young deputy. "It's fine to not always be 'in charge'. It's a lot of responsibility being the deputy, sometimes you should take it easy and just go with the flow... As long as you have time to spare."
"Well, that is a story in itself. While half the camp was laughing their lungs out, the rest of us hurried over to the tree. When we got there, the first thing we saw was a whitish-grey blob on the lowest part of the tree, backed up against the trunk. The second thing we say, was that the whitish-grey blob was convieniently place on the side of the tree facing the cliff. I think you already know what the blob was by this point. A few of us got closer and called up to Crystalpaw to see if she was okay. Physically speaking, she was. But... Well, when your in a tree facing a cliff, I don't think you're in the best mental condition." Nightheart said, allowing himself to ramble a bit before he got to the climax of the story.

Fawnpaw's hazel eyes glittered as she leaned closer, wholly absorbed in the story. "Yeah, I'd say so," she laughed. I can hardly imagine. Heights are bad enough for me as it is, without the threat of a cliff looming two steps away!" A smile twitching her whiskers, the she-cat nodded eagerly and quieted down enough for Nightheart to continue.

((I'm good for whatever! c: Thank you))
Lilyshower raised her head as the queen spoke, and smiled in greeting. "Hello," she mewed back, sitting up. "I'm doing just fine. How about yourself?" The she-cat was glad to have some company. She hadn't had much of a chance to talk to anyone today yet, either. Lilyshower sat up from her resting spot, facing Featherspark as not to be rude.

"Well, it was about this time that we were all thinking of ways to get her back down. I swear she was starting to look a little green up there. All of the sudden, a white flash bolted up the tree and was right next to Crystalpaw. It was Snowfeather, my mate. Although she wasn't my mate yet. In a few moments she had Crystalpaw by the scruff and was down the tree," Nightheart said. ( Dᴀᴡɴ Rɪsɪɴɢ --» Guess I'll throw Bumblepaw in with the other apprentices.) Bumblepaw padded over in the direction of the other apprentices. He didn't know them that well, so he couldn't manage to start any conversations. He was still slightly worried about his sister, although he knew that as long as she did what Bramblepath told her she would be fine. Of course, that was exactly why he was worried that she wouldn't be fine. In less than a day she would already be itching to be back out of camp, and that wouldn't do her paw any good.

“I’m doing pretty well, all in all,” Featherspark replied, the beginnings of a playful smile twitching her whiskers. Choosing a comfortable-looking spot, she settled down beside Lilyshower and wrapped her tail lazily around her paws. “Fishkit and Rabbitkit have been entertaining themselves all morning, so I’ve practically had the nursery to myself all morning. I had time for the most wonderful nap...” She let her voice trail off as her gaze found it’s way back to the nursery and to the band of kits tussling nearby. “Even if it hurts a little bit. Great Starclan, I can’t believe how big they’ve gotten!”
Fawnpaw’s sober expression of intrigue broke into a wide smile at Nightheart’s words. “Go Snowfeather!” She laughed, thrashing her sand-colored tail for emphasis. “Braving the edge of a cliff!” She shook her head in amazement. “I want to be exactly like her when I’m a warrior. Fawnfeather...” She tested the name on her tongue, wrinkling her nose in amusement at the unfamiliar sound.

Nightheart chuckled at Fawnpaw's attempt at giving herself a warrior name. "I don't think being named after her would make you like her. I'm not going to lie, I have never met a cat before her or after her that would have done it. It was an incredibly brave-or stupid, depending on how you look at it- thing to do."

Fawnpaw grinned. "I think it was brave. She saved her clanmate from danger; she's a hero!" Her voice dipped on the final word, bright with admiration. That description embodied all that Fawnpaw hoped to be one day. It wasn't a simple task by any means, but the optimism of youth clung to the excitable apprentice just enough to keep that dream alive and strong. "If no one else has ever been like her, I'll be the first—just wait and see," she promised confidently.

Nightheart smiled. "You're already off to a great start. I'm sure she would have said the exact same thing if she had heard this story as an apprentice. I doubt either of you would have any problems being that kind of cat though. you both have an unbeatable optimism."

Fawnpaw beamed at Nightheart's assurances. "Do you really think so?" She asked, a proud purr rumbling in her throat. "Will you tell me more about her?" The tawny she-cat paused a moment later, wincing. Caught up in the stories, she had forgotten all about her injury—until a particularly enthusiastic thump of her paws against the ground had left her leg smarting. "I mean, only if you want to," she added with a bashful twitch of her ear. "I've taken up enough of your time already."

(Sorry for slow responses. I've been really busy.)
Nightheart smiled. "You're not taking my time, you're filling it. I would just be resting, or doing something else boring right now if you weren't here talking to me," Nightheart paused to rack his brain for a story to tell her. In this case, it wasn't as hard to come up with a story as it was to pick one. "I guess I could tell you about when she took down an eagle. That was enough to surprise everyone in the clan."
Mistyfur paused for a moment, before offering her suggestion. "How about the stream? Worst comes to worst, if we can't catch anything else we could try fishing. Or we could fish first. Either way, it sounds good to me," she said, sitting back a bit.

((Sorry it took so long to respond! It's finals week this week and the next, so I'm getting ready for it ;w; ))
Lilyshower chuckled, her whiskers twitching in amusement. "They do grow up quickly," she said with a soft smile. "I still can't believe mine are apprentices already." Lilyshower glanced over by the apprentices den, where her kits were sharing a meal. She could still fondly remember when they were born and when they first opened their eyes. The she-cat sighed softly. "It seems like just yesterday they were tumbling over each other in the nursery. And now they're on their ways to becoming warriors!"
--
Blizzardpaw looked up as Bumbepaw approached and smiled in greeting. "Hi Bumblepaw!" he mewed. "What are you up to?" Hollowpaw quickly swallowed his mouthful of food. "Well look who it is," the tom added with a flick of his tail. Honeypaw nibbled at her vole, unaware of Bumblepaw's presence.

(No worries! Good luck everyone!)
Fawnpaw felt her chest flood with warmth at Nightheart’s kind words. “An eagle?” She gasped a moment later. “Hawks are terrifying enough, but eagles...” She shook her head in amused disbelief, whiskers twitching. “You definitely need to teach me that one once I’m better. How did she manage it?”
Featherspark felt a soft smile settle over her face. “You’re right! I remember when your kits were born; I had hardly even met Dustleap yet, and now here I am.” Something in her chest gave a gentle tug at the thought of her lost mate, and she shook her head. “It’s amazing how quickly things change—for all of us.” Shaking off the wistfulness that had begun to settle over her, the silver she-cat garnered up a brighter tone. “Well, if nothing else, I guess it will be nice to find myself in the warriors’ den again. How’s the transition back for you?”

Mistyfur nodded in the direction of the stream. "Lets go then," She said calmly as she started padded off in that direction. She glanced back to make sure that Moonwing was following.
Bumblepaw let a wry grin creep onto his face as he answered Blizzardpaw's question. "I was going out to help the medicine cat with my sister. Then she hurt her paw, so we had to come back here. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't find it amusing if she hurt herself, but leave it to her to injure herself while we're out with the medicine cat. It's kind of ironic."
Nightheart grinned. "I definetly never had the guts to learn that one, much less teach it. As for how she managed it... Well, the eagle had spotted something and was swooping past a group of us. Most of us sane cats didn't follow it, and even went for cover. She jumped out of a tree onto its back, and finished it off after the fall stunned it. She made it look so easy."

“Wow!” Fawnpaw purred. Her eyes were wide open, glittering with enthrallment. She grew quiet for a moment, a look of deep pensiveness creasing her brow as she puzzled over the scene; finally, she nodded to herself—satisfied—as her cheerful demeanor returned in a rush. “I think I could do that,” she decided. “Maybe when I’m a little bit bigger.” She chuckled to herself; small and wiry as she was at the moment, she probably wouldn’t be much larger than the prey-bird that she was trying to take down. “The next eagle that comes onto our territory had better watch out. I’ll bring it here, and all of the elders can share it.”

Nightheart smiled at the apprentice, trying to remember the days that he had such boundless confidence in himself. It had been a long time, he realized. The more he talked to Fawnpaw however, the more he realized that she was like his mate. Boundless energy and confidence, and courage to boot. He shook himself out of his thoughts, and managed to say "There isn't that many eagles that get low enough for you to use that trick, but by all means be my guest. Just don't get yourself hurt doing it. If you did I'm sure Bramblepath would scold me to death for teaching you dangerous things."
Mistyfur noted that Moonwing was following her, and turned up front. As she walked, she took a deep breathe, both to scent out prey and just to enjoy the fresh air. It wasn't long however before she heard the trickling of the stream up ahead. She reigned herself in, not wanting to embaress herself by diving into the water like an apprentice.

“Oh, I’ve been scolded by Bramblepath more times than I can count,” Fawnpaw teased, her whiskers twitching. “You get used to it—as I’m sure you know,” she added with a laugh. Indeed, however long Fawnpaw had been a loyal thorn in the long-suffering medicine cat’s side, Nightheart had been subject to his admonitions for at least twice as long. Still, Fawnpaw couldn’t help but consider—with a twinge of pride—that she might have caused enough trouble in her eight moons to rival another cat’s lifetime.

Nightheart snorted. "Oh yes, I'm sure I have. I've been scolded more times than I can count," he purred, trying and failing to recall even most of the times his son had scolded him. "Honestly, you would think that with my age and wisdom I would be telling him off, not the other way around. Still, he is the medicine cat, so I suppose there is a degree of wisdom that naturally comes with the position, even if they are younger than half the cats in the clan."
Mistyfur paused and flicked her tail at Moonwing. "I'm not entirely sure if that gring is because you have some plan up your sleeve to get me wetter than I need to be, or because your thinking about fishing," she teased, continuing on towards the stream.
