(How did Shrewkit get there/would you like Soot and Misty to find scents or anything, or should they come up blank? I figured I'd leave it up to you :3)
"I have no idea," Sootstripe replied numbly. Finding nothing odd among the surrounding scents, he shook his head and huffed out a breath. "I can't find anything strange. I just don't know how the past patrols could have missed him..."
"Anyway, I guess it's a good thing that we dragged ourselves out here at the crack of dawn after all," he added with a slight chuckle unbefitting the wariness still nearly palpable in his posture.

Mistyfur purred a little, and decided against mentioning that she had been up long before dawn. She flicked Sootstripe with her tail and glanced over his way. "True that. Otherwise the poor little thing would have been waiting out there forever." She said, forcing herself to look away and continue searching the area for more signs of how the kit got there. Her mind flickered back to her first encounter with the clan. "Reminds me of how the clan found me." She mumbled to herself.

Sootstripe twitched an ear, and he raised his head from a thick patch of grass in front of him to glance curiously at Mistyfur. "I don't think you've ever told me that story," he remarked, choosing his words carefully. It's her choice how much to share; I won't push.

(whoops, sorry for disappearing, I had a really rough couple of days! Also, we'll have to rope Featherspark into this, I forgot about that! Sorry!)
Leafpelt awkwardly reached down and nudged the kit gently. "It's okay, little guy. I- I don't know who your mom is or where they are. But I'm Leafpelt, and I'm going to get you something to eat and a warm place to sleep, okay?" She said in a calm and sweet voice. Concern for the kit, who was obviously small for his age, flooded into Leafpelt at the sound of his tiny, weak voice.

Mistyfur laughed quietly. "I wouldn't expect you to. I haven't told anyone other than Sparrowstar the whole story anyways. Aside from her only Nightheart was there when they found me anyways." She said quietly, giving Sootstripe a small smile before turning back to the shrubbery around her.

Sootstripe stifled a grin as Mistyfur turned away. He padded after her, stopping beside the blue-gray warrior and focusing intently on the nearest patch of tall grass to his left. "Found by Sparrowstarโreally? That's as close as you can get to being chosen by Starclan themselves," he teased lightly.

Shrewkit listened to Leafpelt and nodded, noticing how hungry he was. "I get to stay with you tonight?" he asked.
Duskstorm heard that Leafpelt was going to get him food. She quickly walked over to the fresh kill pile to find the softest thing to eat for Shrewkit. She walked back, a squirrel in her mouth, and dropped it right in front of the kit. "Is this okay?" she whispered to Leafpelt. "W-what do you think happened? And who will take care of him?" she asked, and suddenly his thoughts were filled with her, Leafpelt, and this small kit. No, I don't have a crush on her... And anyways, she wouldn't like me. I'm missing an eye, for StarClan's sake! Duskstorm thought to herself.

"I don't think that I'm the sort of cat that Starclan would choose." Mistyfur chuckled. "Besides, it was really kind of an accident that they found me in the first place." She sighed and flicking Sootstripe with her tail. "I can tell you the story if you want, its not like my past can come back to haunt me anymore than it already has." She said, moving away slightly to sniff a shrub.

Bumblepaw glanced around the clearing as he crawled out of the apprentice den. He sighed when he saw that barely anyone was up, and paced around the clearing, trying to think of something to do.

Sootstripe hid a sympathetic wince beneath a chuckle at Mistyfur's words. "You'll have to stop coming back to camp at all hours with twice the prey that I bring back in a moon to make me believe that," he teased, then dipped his head. "Go ahead," he purred, the task at hand forgotten in watching the she-cat until he hastily stuffed his muzzle into the nearest patch of greenery. Way to be smooth, mousebrain.

(I'm pretty sure that half of the people here more or less ship Bumblepaw and Cloudpaw  ) Bumblepaw forced himself to stifle a purr when he heard Cloudpaw's voice. If merely hearing her voice made him happy, then seeing her shining golden in the patch of sunlight took his breath away. "G-good morning." He stuttered. Looking beautiful today as well. Those were the words he wanted to say but couldn't bring himself to. While staring at her, he noticed that she had missed a spot with her quick groom. "You missed a spot." He said, tapping it with his tail. Mistyfur flushed under her fur at Sootstripes words, her face feeling unbearably hot. She shuffled her feet, and finally decided to ignore his statement about her hunting habits. "Was that 'go ahead' for telling the story, or proving you wrong?" She teased him. And that is something a complete moron would say. She sighed to herself, knowing it was too late to take it back now. Finding no hint as to where the kit had come from in the shrub, she tried to act calm as she moved to the next patch of grass. |

Bumblepaw had to literally force himself not to purr just for looking at her. "Ah, um... No I don't really have any plans. I'm barely awake, but give me a minute to stretch and I should be good for pretty much anything." Bumblepaw said before stopping himself from embarrasing banter.

Duskstorm shifted the weight on her paws out of nervousness. "Y-yeah we could take care of him... y-you know... together." He smiled shyly.She JUST said that, you mousebrain! Duskstorm thought to herself.
Shrewkit watched as Leafpelt showed him how to eat the squirrel. He dug into it right away, helping his hunger. After a few bites, he replies to Leafpelt quietly, "I-I think my momma called me Shrew. I don't know why, maybe I got a pointy nose or somethin'" He crossed his eyes to look at his nose and batted at it.

Bumblepaw felt a surge of happiness, followed by the feeling of defeat at Cloudpaw's words. "Ah, yeah. That sounds good. Where do you want to go?" He said cheerfully, his happiness restored at the thought of hunting with Cloudpaw. He glanced her way again to marvel at the way she looked in the sunlight.
Mistyfur sighed and gave up as well. "If you want sent by Starclan, you can't get any closer to this. Seriously, where did he come from?" She said that in a way that implied that she didn't need an answer to the question. She glanced over at Sootstripe. "Are you sure that you want to hear it? It gets pretty... Depressing, at points."

Sootstripe's expression softened, the spark of humor that usually lit his yellow-green eyes dimming to a glimmer of sympathy. "Whatever you want to share," he replied with uncharacteristic carefulness, pricking his ears. "I want to hear."

Duskstorm smiled nervously at Leafpelt, admiring her, and Shrewkit, eating his squirrel. She quickly walks back to the fresh kill pile and grabs two nightingales for her and Leafpelt to share. Bringing it back to her, Duskstorm says "These are, in my opinion, the best." She nudges one of the birds in front of Leafpelt.
Shrewkit nodded his head at his new name. He finished eating as much food as he could before looking around for another kit to play with.
((Anyone have a kit open to roleplay with Shrewkit))

Mistyfur chukcled at Sootstripe's fancy display of sitting down and getting comfortable. "I guess you won't mind if I start from the beggining?" She said, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "You seem quite eager."
Bumblepaw honestly didn't even care that Cloudpaw had gotten a head start. If she won, she would be happy. Of course, he couldn't exactly let her win. She would get mad at him if he did that.

"Seems like a good place to start," Sootstripe teased, his muzzle clamped tightly against one of the goofy grins that always seemed to accompany his interactions with the she-cat before him. He swiped his tail, beckoning Mistyfur over. "And while you do, sit down for a second and rest. We've been out all morning."
