*sigh* Some of you may not like this...
If this comes from good old, cheerful Minty, is anyone going to take her Hope and We Will Succeeded seriously? After all, I always say that...
Oh well, I'll try it anyway.
Our Community is dead.
There, that's not cheerful at all.
I've been seeing more then one post about how this new WFF is not like the old one, in the sense that the community seems to have gone out of the place.
Well, despite anything I've said, maybe it has. But hear me out, okay?
The community that we all knew may be gone, but even if it is, can't we build a new one? I can't do all of this alone, guys. What can you think of? Do you all really think this is hopeless?
I'm willing to try, what about you?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We must face the truth, as the WFF does indeed seem different.
It's as if that unity that used to bond us together is gone.
I propose something like an all-forum collab. We already have the one collab fanfiction, though I forget the name (it's centered around two or three clans). What if we had more? Collabs seem to bring people together, and I've seen very few collabs lately. A project for all of WFF and beyond to work on would be interesting. It cold help bring together the forums and rekindle the spirit.

Between the move and school starting, many people probably just aren't coming on. I'd love to try to get this place up and running again though! I'll try to think of some ways to help.

Thanks Mosspool. I know a lot of people are in school and that interferes a lot. But last summer was pretty slow too, and we still manged to do some activities.  |

mintedstar/fur - Why, thanks. I think it was called Warriors World. I always thought that was really cool, since a lot of people were able to join together to write about a group of clans.
I actually had an idea for a book series that I was hoping to collab on with some people. After thinking about that and Warriors World, it gave me the idea for a collab. I'm not sure what it would be about, though. I wouldn't want it to be like Warriors World, since that was such an original idea... I'll do some thinking and see what my brain turns out.

I think what we need is like a little chat here again. Because I don't post my stories here anymore, but I love wff. I haven't been here, though, because there's nothing to hold me here. I feel a bit disconnected, ya know?

Agreed. I would love to do more with this community, but in between school and irl commitments, and whenever I do come back this place feels like a ghost town ^^' Remember when Tuesday Challenges was new, and the whole community was literally buzzing? I agree about a chat thread - maybe we should run focused discussion threads as well? When Shadow used to do them they always went down pretty well

It's mainly school that's been keeping me away from here :\ I wish I could be here more often but I just don't have time/energy most days... I really wish I could do more to keep this community together and alive but I just don't have time. xc I might be able to do more on my winter break and next summer, but of course that's still a while off.

I agree with Mint. It's as if something just... Vanished. I also agree when she says we can still behold something not the same, but better. Something certainly needs to be done. I have something that I'm currently working on that will bring some people together again. There's this quote I heard somewhere. Something along the lines of - The world is changing. Much of what was is now lost, for none who are left remember it. And I bring this up because yes, everything has changed, but not all is lost because we are still here. These new forums might not feel like home yet, but with a little work, they can begin to feel like a community again.
I know it's hard. Many users are too busy with real life. Shadowface and Tuesday are both in college, and everyone else is busy with school (myself included) and because of that we hardly have the time to be active here anymore, but I'm sure that in the times that we can get online, we can work together to bring WFF back to its glory days.
And that ends my attempt at being motivational. Something will happen, but instead of waiting for something to change, we should change it outselves. So, like Mint said - suggestions anyone?
(For the record, I really like the idea of a collab. Then if everyone writes one or two chapters, even the really busy forum users might have time to chip in)

And I've almost pinned down all the details for starting one of my own. )
I've restarted the Newspaper and put up the Café. I also still have the Contest Arcade of course. Hopefully all these activities I'm putting forward will help bring people closer together. I'm going to continue coming up with things and I need everyone's help. No activity can only include one person (unless you count solitary.)

I was wondering... Would anyone be interested if I made a oneshot library for the wff? Now we have spoilers we'd even be able to post all of the writing on the library page itself (with links to the original threads if the authors desired). I think it'd be quite a good way to discover new authors without having to track down their fanfics' pages

~Sapphire~ - I think that would be pretty cool. It would open the door for new members to get known for their writing. I have a short-story collection of my own (where I store my own stories), but the library would definitely be useful.

I'd be will to help (since I'm fairly active). But I would need help from the rest of the forumers to catalog everything. Should it maybe be sorting by subject (or should it be by author?). |

I agree. After coming back after losing wifi for a month right after the old forums closed, I realized that it feels like something is.. missing. It feels, for lack of a better word, like this place is less welcoming. Almost like what used to bond us together suddenly vanished. To be honest.. this makes me miss the old place and community. But hey, who says we can't rebuild it? Bond us together once again? I'm willing to help as much as I can, but unfortunately I'm not sure how much I can help. School is a but busy for me right now, and I think that other people are busy too, which might explain why this place feels like a ghost town. School should calm down soon for me, so yeah...
Either way, count me in.

I'd personally sort them either by subject or if that's too complicated by title. That way it doesn't look like certain authors are being favouritised. |
