Down to a cough and dying via schoolwork. Thus ends my complaints.
Most of it's quotes. Night Watch by Terry Pratchett. "He tossed away the stupid pompous megaphone. He copped his hands. "Some of you know me!" he shouted. "I'm Sergeant Keel, currently in command of Treacle Mine Road Watch House! And I order you to dismantle this barricade-" There was a chorus of jeers and two badly thrown missiles. Vimes[Keel] waited, stock-still, until they'd died away. Then he raised his hands again. "I repeat, I order you to dismantle this barricade." He took a breath, and went on: "And rebuild it on the other side, oh the corner with Cable Street! And put up another one at the top of Sheer Street! Properly built! Good grief, you don't just pile stuff up, for gods' sake! A barricade is something you construct! Who's in charge here?""
I love this book. Vimes[Keel] was ordered to dismantle it and then had to punch the captain for 'a sudden bout of insanity' because he wanted to shoot people. :') This is the start of the climax and for citation's sake it is page 262 of my book.
""Rebel songs, sir!" said trooper number one. The captain sighed. "If you listen, Hepplewhite, you might note that it is the national anthem sung very badly," he said. "We can't allow rebels to sing that, sir!""
The part where the (basically king) Patrician's soldiers are in front of the barricade and are debating whether or not they want to tear it down.
This is my fourth time or so through the book and I'm really loving the latest reread. I'm fairly confident it's based off Les Mis now. But it's got strong fantasy twists and involves time travel and mistaken identity. We get to see the younger versions of a lot of the characters that we see in the series and I honest really like it. cx

Mint, I'm so sorry to hear that. Still, the book sounds interesting. I might have to look into it. (Once I've finished the three I'm currently working on.)
