Are we sure Leporello isn't just small because he's a teen? Because that sounds scarily accurate

Leporello is actually four years old, Papageno is three, and Tamino is two. (A teen cat would be about 1.25 years to 1.75 years.) Leporello just happens to be a small cat, which is not very much to his advantage.
There's teen cats later, but to be honest they aren't very different size-wise from Leporello lmao

slightly unrelated but on the subject of height: why are irl human adults so small? i'm short for a teen but i still tower over some grown women :\ do they shrink?

or is it just my secondary school's Curse Of Growth where kids who join are tiny and then they skyrocket up to be 6ft at age 15

also: I'm still somewhat amused by everyone feeling pity for the Leporello Angst Show because once you find out more about the cat he's angsting over and Leporello's backstory and their whole character dynamic... the whole situation's a lot of Yikes and honestly he's better off now than he was then
