•♕• also how do you guys get your buns tolerant to outside/being picked up?? •♔• That is a tricky situation. Well, how much does your rabbit like pats/affection? Like, without picking her up, how responsive is she to getting petted? •♕• she loves getting petted! she always wants the pets •♔•

My Regi (the second bunny on the first post) I hand raised from two weeks old and he hates being handled (he loves a good nose scratch, but the moment you want to pick him up he isn't happy). He loves being outside though, typical rex he is.

Like I mentioned with Regi, he hates being handled despite having been in human contact since he was two weeks. GeGe (first bunny on top post) I got as a retired breeding doe. She used to be very shy, hated pats and hated handling and hated being outside, she just wanted to sit all hunched up in cage. Taming her is a whole story in itself, but she is very friendly now. Try not to handle your bun bun too much, and when you do, bring her up to you chest and put your chin over her head, for some reason this seems to relax them and it means you have a firm grip on the rabbit too. When trimming her nails, wrap her in a towel, but ensure her face isn't covered so she can still breath. If she seems to be stressed out, blowing lightly and slowly on their nose calms them. While she still might not like getting handled, you can make it manageable. I don't think I'd like it if I was a small furry thing and suddenly got lifted into the air - you have to remember they are prey animals and like to have their feet on the ground. When it comes to outside time, you can't force your rabbit to like it. All the rabbit owner manuals say that your rabbits need a least three hours every day of exercise, but some rabbits just aren't into it. GeGe is the same, she'd rather just plop down. I don't have her in a pen, I just let her run around the entirety of my yard because I know she won't go far. Maybe try putting her in just a tiny and secure pen on the grass in a shaded area away from loud noises and other animals. Give her, say, half an hour and put her back in her hutch. You say she loves pats, sit in there with her so she feels safe. Over time you'll see her start to adjust more and you aren't putting so much pressure on her. That is a similar technique I used to tame GeGe. When she starts getting more comfortable, extend the length of time, then the size of the pen, then the placement. Just note, that this can go on for months and she can easily go backwards too if pushed too fast.

•♕• i mean, i let her run around my room for most of the day. so she gets exercise time! and yeah its jst hard ebcause my parents are always yelling at me to take her outside, even though i keep telling them it scars her. plus in order to get her to the hutch id have to pick her up or put her in a basket, so its like 2x the stress??? ive tried the blanket method and even then she freaks out, so now i ive her a treat and while shes nibblin i kind of slide her feet out and clip them. but she wont let me touch her back feet, and her nails are getting so long back there and im afraid she might hurt herself. my rabbit isnt spayed if that makes a difference? (ive aked, but it would be 240$ and neither me or my parents can spare that kind of money!! even if we brought her to get her nails clipped it would be a lot of money) thank you for the tips! •♔•

When it comes to clipping her back nails, I'm afraid to say, you just gotta wrap her up, flip her over and get it done. Just remember to blow on her nose and give her a break between each foot. But the sooner if it done the sooner you don't have to worry about it.
Rabbits can get painful bald spots on the heel of their foot, this occurs when they get older naturally or if their nails are excessively long without sign of being trimmed. I'm sure your rabbit is well loved and you have trimmed her nails, it is just stressful for you and her. With 'normal' furred rabbits it takes longer for hocks to occur, but if it is short-furred like my rex, than it is a bit of an issue. I know a lot of people don't even trim their rabbits themselves, but they go to the vet for a trim or a registered breeder.
I hope that you and your bunny can figure it out :c
Spaying her may calm her down, but I don't think it would do much for her stress levels.

She is just a tricky little thing lol. I feel bad sometimes because my rabbits aren't allowed inside and I see all these people say that rabbits should be kept inside but I'm like 'I... I can't ;3;' We all just gotta do what we can. So long as they are fed, happy and loved you are doing well.
