Arabella laughed and gave him a gentle nudge, "It's not THAT bad!" She continued to look through the papers until she found one that looked like it hadn't been used in much yet. A few words and a title, that was in a different language were written, but besides that it was pretty clean. "Oh, here's one. It has some stuff written on it, but you could still use it." Arabella shrugged her shoulders in a nonchalant way, as to not make it seem like she did anything great. After all, she didn't. Arabella handed him the scroll.

(Looks good, Fire! :3)

(Ugh, I know what you mean. I'm using my Kindle, and it's a pain enough as it is. I couldn't imagine trying to type on a phone.)
"Not much for words, I see," River replied with good nature. "I guess I shouldn't disturb you from your work."

"You haven't read any of the assignments I've turned in," Dustin said. "I'm pretty sure the Scribemaster is regretting his decision to take me as an apprentice." With another soft chuckle, he took the piece of paper from her. "Thanks. Why are you in here? Do you have something to work on as well?"

(I've got to go for the night, guys. I'll be back tomorrow though!)

Later Night! And what does Dustin look like? Could you give him a description please?)
Arabella smiled and looked down at the other scrolls, "I'm sure he enjoys you as an apprentice. You are very enthusiastic you know." She turned her head to look at him when he asked her the question, "Me? Oh, one of the friends of a Scribemaster is a manager of a store and he asked me to look at the average prices for certain goods and things. I wouldn't do it if he said he wasn't going to pay me! We all know how much I despise math, or numbers in general..." she walked to another shelf, checking in the shelf labeled "castle town". She assumed it would be here, that is if people decided to put things in the right order like they were supposed to.

(GOOD NEWS, I managed to grab my chromebook from my mom's house before leaving and my phone hotspot is working ) Värmod nodded in thanks and even managed to crack a small smile. He always enjoyed it when people respected his solitude. He ran his finger across his blade, checking to see if it was sharp but being cautious enough not to cut himself.

Anyone want to rp with my Ranger apprentice?) (Not sure how good I'll do, but I'm up for it!)

(Sure thing.)
Värmod slid his sword back into his sheath and stood up. He grabbed his shield and wandered around, not having much to do since he wasn't being sent into battle.
(Like I said, I've never read the books so I have no idea what my character should be doing >.>)

(Unless you're a horse use by someone who isn't a Ranger, then it wouldn't work. Ranger horse's are taught to behave and listen to commands without hesitation, as well as composed creatures. So it might get boring on your part if you chose to be a Ranger horse. However, if you want to to some young battle horses, that would be interesting. They're high strung and not easily trained.) Are there any knights? x.x ]

Nate sighed, riding around on his horse, Duke. His ranger mentor, Fredrick Hawthorne, who was inconveniently to head of the Ranger Corps, was currently doing some important business, discussing matters with the king and some other higher-ups, so Nate was free to roam around. He keep his bow slung over his shoulder, just invade he ran into some troublemakers.

Värmod watched Nate pass by, grunting when he saw his bow. He never favored the bow much himself, he considered it a cowardly way of facing your enemies. Taking out someone from a distance just didn't hold the same meaning to him as sword to sword combat did.

Värmod nodded. He eyed Nate, as if trying to size up his worth. He remained silent, his icy gaze scanning the young man in front of him. That was a thing some people tended to dislike about him. His silence sometimes intimidated people, making it hard for people to properly get along with him.
(Blegh, I feel like my RPing skills could use some work.)

Värmod finally loosened up and shook Nate's hand. His gaze turned to his bow. Just because he wasn't a bow fan himself, it didn't mean he appreciated the support archers could bring in a fight. "Are you any good with it?" He asked, finally opening his mouth to speak. His voice was rough like gravel.

"Let me see," Värmod said. He looked around, trying to find a suitable target for Nate. He finally settled on a small pile of crates a reasonable distance away, that didn't look too important. "Try and hit that," he instructed, curious to see his aim.

Värmod smiled. "Not bad." He pulled his sword out of his sheath and examined it. "Still prefer the blade, myself." He still had to appreciate how accurate his aim was. He had no doubt the arrow would hit a crate, but he didn't expect a dead center shot.

Värmod followed closely behind. "This sword is...special to me," He explained, now that he was comfortable talking to Nate. "I have used it for many years. I even used it in the days where I raided ships." He thought back to the days where he would be out at sea, waiting for trading ships to pass by, and raiding their cargo with his fellow brethren.

"I don't know, it's just home," Värmod shrugged. "Not many other ways I can explain it other than that." He looked off into the distance, seemingly lost in thought. "I sometimes miss it," He suddenly said. "The open waters, the excitement of raiding a ship, the fights between crews."

Värmod smiled. "You know, you aren't too bad." He sheathed his sword as he spoke. "Hey, just saying, if you ever have need for training in the sword or just need a few tips, let me know." He placed his hand on Nate's shoulder. "I'd be happy to teach you a thing or two."
(Värmod can be pretty nice once you get him to drop the silent act xD)

"One tip I'll tell you right now..." Värmod paused to tap on his armor. "...be careful with armored targets. If you just swing wildly at somebody's chestplate, not only will your attacks just bounce off, but you risk breaking your blade. "I'd recommend looking for weak spots. Worn out plating, dented scales, separated chainlink, Anything that looks like it could be breached easier."

Värmod grinned. "That's good to know. Another thing to keep in mind, is protection." He held up his shield. "Now, since you're a Ranger, normally you don't have to worry about defense since you attack from range." Värmod lightly tapped his sword on his chestplate. "But if you're out of arrows and you get charged by a knight, that will cause trouble for you. "A shield would be the best course of action for blocking sword attacks, but with a strong arm and the right sword, you can improvise. Holding your sword at the proper angle will cause your attacker's blows to bounce off, leaving them open for a good slash or two."
