Now he was awake. Parker, begrudgingly, opened his eyes and pushed past the ache that came with it. Fighting against the blurred vision, he tried to tilt his head back to look at Sol, but from his position, he would have had to move away from him to do so. That wasn't an option. So he just stayed put, forehead lightly brushing against the captain's chin. "Please tell me I didn't do anything stupid," he muttered. "I wasn't joking about the breaking out in Brittany Spears at random times."
~*~*~
"And for the book," Anya added. A couple of seconds ticked by before she took hold of Seth's hand and stopped walking. "Seth, I know you've been working hard lately, both around here and trying to find Parker. All while I've been... been stuck in my own worry and grief. I'm sorry. I know everyone else has found a way to carry on like normal, and I should have too. It's just... It's just..." But how could she explain it in a way that didn't sound like a huge excuse?
~*~*~
"As much as that offer is tempting, I think I'll pass," Kyra said, patting the arm that was around her in a friendly manner. "Sleep is what I need most right now, and I'm sure I won't get it if I follow you."
Lach chuckled and nodded in understanding. "No, I suppose not. I'll take a rain check on it then," he replied. After all, he knew they weren't a thing, and he had already noticed that another young lady had been looking his way. The man instead moved his arm to give her a hug around the shoulders. "My tents always open, however, if you need to rant about Lawrence," he said as he pulled away.
"And I'll most likely be doing just that when tomorrow rolls around," Kyra called after him. Now that her conversation had died away, she could hear pieces of one where Morgan was a participant over the hundreds of others around her. Turning, she spotted the man further down the bar, waiting and speaking. She hadn't minded Juliana going to try her luck. Juliana was a friend, and whether or not she would succeeded in capturing Morgan's attention was easier for her to take. Part of her even liked to believe that she wasn't even Morgan's type to begin with, but it had been years since they had last hung out. His taste could have changed. Seeing him flirting with the two woman by the bar was different.
"I see Ian wasted no time showing you to the bar, Reilly," she called loud enough to be heard over the noise, taking a sip of her drink.[/font]

Sol chuckled. "No. Not in my company, anyway. You were actually quite charming."
~ • ~ • ~ Seth stopped at her urging, surprised. His surprise didn't fade as she spoke, though the reason for it changed. He stepped closer, and almost lifted his free hand to her cheek but stopped himself. "Anya, you don't have to apologize. Everyone deals with their grief differently. There's nothing wrong with that, or your method. Parker means a lot to you, and you don't know where he is. This—" He pulled out her book. "This is great in theory, but I'm no seer. There's no way to know if this, or something like it, actually happened to him. And telling you that probably isn't helping you feel better about this. I'm sorry. I just —" He tried to run a hand through his hair, but one held her book and the other was still clasped in hers. He abandoned that plan and just went on. "I don't like seeing people I care about upset, even if it is for a very legitimate reason. But you can tell me if I'm being too pushy about. I'm not..." He sighed. "Good at this, apparently," he finished in a mutter.
~ • ~ • ~ Morgan was doing such a bad job ignoring Kyra that there was a pointed pause before he turned toward her. "Yes, well, turns out he had ulterior motives." He gave her the same charming grin he knew she pretended to hate but secretly loved. "Tell me, wild heart, do you refuse all Riders who hit on you, or just the ones who don't look like me?"

"Charming?" Parker asked, laughing a little with a mixture of dryness and disbelief. "Of the many things I am while drunk, I don't think charming is the right term to describe it."
~*~*~
Anya lifted her eyes to meet his as she listened to him. Everything he mentioned had merit, and she knew that. It still didn't mean it excused her completely from it. "Still, I'm sorry. I wasn't the only one to lose a brother or son, and yet no one else let their grief get the best of them. I just felt guilty to act like nothing had happened. But I did have fun today, and I enjoyed myself, and it was nice."
~*~*~
She was too tipsy for that grin, and she would bet two months pay he knew that. Kyra wanted to look away, but couldn't. But at least she knew why he was here. Ian would be hearing about this later. "Look, talk, act, and have the unnerving ability to get under my skin like you do," she replied, sending him a smirk of her own. "You set a high standard, charming. You should feel honored."

"Oh, gods, what did I do?" Parker groaned, burying his face once more, hiding it. Forward and bossy? He could only imagine what he could have done to be thought of like that. Yet what was more embarrassing was the fact that Sol had liked it. Liked it? Did he even want to know what had happened?
~*~*~
That was a possibility, but Anya didn't want to think that she felt stronger about Parker's disappearance than the rest of her family. At least not her parents. Parker was her twin, and the two shared a stronger bond compared to the other brothers, but she was sure her mother and father would be taking things just as hard, if not harder, than she was. "That depends. Will it be a normal Festival day, or do you have surprises planned for tomorrow as well?" she asked, a small smile lighting her face.
~*~*~
"Nothing I would have done would have stopped Juliana from flirting with you," Kyra said. Then shrugged. "And maybe I wanted to see how long it took before you broke it to her that she wasn't getting lucky."

Sol laughed. "Well, let's see. You told me I should gave been the one at the bar trying to get you into bed, not Angel. You told me making out on my couch was not good enough for you, so I got you a view." He gestured to the open curtains. "It was a much nicer view last night. Oh, and you told me, in no uncertain terms, that you liked how I kissed you. It was very flattering."
( Now, obviously that last part didn't happen during role-play, but I needed a third thing and it seemed likely Parker would say something like that at some point. xD )
~ • ~ • ~ ( That is totally not what Seth meant. They'll need to return to this at a latter date to clarify. xD )
Seth was struck momentarily speechless by that smile. "Well," he said at length. "I don't have any surprises planned right now. But my best ones tend to strike me on a whim, so I'm afraid I can't promise anything."
~ • ~ • ~ Morgan tilted his head. "Who says she's not getting lucky? One of the people at that table deserves to, and if you're not going to help your friend Ian, I might as well help your friend Juliana." That was a lie and they both knew it. Morgan may not have had trouble "helping" women back home, but here, with Kyea present? Not likely. That wouldn't be fair to the woman, Kyra, or himself.

(Oh, for sure, that's something he would have done. XD)
He was glad his face was hidden, for Parker could feel the blushing heating his face. "I'm really sorry about that," he murmured. "But in my defense, Mason and Quill was supposed to be watching me, but they weren't, and Angel wasn't helping at all."
~*~*~
"And it's the spur of the moment surprises that usually end up scarring me," Anya mused, but was merely joking. "But I guess I'll tag along. I want to support Aidan and Star when they enter that competition at least."
~*~*~
"Ian thinks every girl in here deserves to help him get lucky," Kyra pointed out. "He's a good person to have in a fight, but that doesn't make him a decent person. That's the main reason I'm not helping him." Well, not the main reason, but it did play a big part of it. She was pretty sure he was kidding with his statement, but there was that worm of doubt that made her believe he would do just that. Especially after the mini-fight they had the previous evening. So she did what she could. She waved a hand in the direction of the table he had come from. "But, if you feel so obligated, then don't let me get in the way."

( Good. xD )
"You don't need to apologize. It was the highlight of my day." He said it jokingly, but it wasn't a lie. "Besides, you were right. I made you a promise, and I was well on my wat to being an ass and breaking that promise. I'm glad you showed up, drunk or not."
~ • ~ • ~ Seth grinned. "I'll try not to surprise you until after then," he said. "It's the best I can do."
~ • ~ • ~ Morgan snorted. "Too late for that," he muttered. His drinks finally arrived, and he wasted no time shooting his back. "Or you could just tell me what you really want to, and we can pretend that conversation never happened," he offered, and he couldn't even blame it on the alcohol. It took way more than two drinks to get him drunk enough for that.

"Yeah, but I wanted to be able to remember it," Parker said with a sigh. "Without making a fool of myself at that." He turned his head to the side again just so he could breath better. But Sol brought up a point that offered a way to divert the conversation from his late night state. "Do you want to talk about yesterday?"
~*~*~
"I guess that will have to do," Anya said. She reached out and took the book from his hand while his other was still held in his as she started towards the house again. "Just be sure not to let Aidan catch on to your habit of scaring me. I don't need two of you doing it."
~*~*~
"What I want to?" Kyra echoed. She might have been tipsy, but she hadn't lost her senses yet. Although, she was close enough to blame it on the alcohol if she took him up on that offer. That was a dangerous game to play, one she always lost. Luckily, the sound of instruments being tuned and mics being checked offered her the chance to remove herself from it for the time being. "I say that it's time for the party to really start," she answered instead, grinning and hopping down from her bar stool. "You should take a turn with the karaoke before you go. You'll have every girl in here trying to get lucky with you with your voice." And with that, she turned and headed towards the small stage that was set up on the other side of the room.

Sol weighed that question in his mind before answering, though his answer turned out to be it's own question. "Do you want to hear about it?"
~ • ~ • ~ Seth relinquished the book and resumed his position at her side. He laughed. "Again, I'll try, but the kid is pretty smart. He'll probably catch on eventually no matter what I do."
~ • ~ • ~ Morgan's brows went up. He turned so he could still see her, his back now to the bar and his elbows resting on it in a casual pose that still drew appreciative eyes his way. "Does that include you?" he called after her, though he didn't expect an answer and didn't get one. With a smirk, he grabbed Juliana's drink, winked at the woman who was staring with blatant attraction, and headed back to his table.
"Sorry I'm late," he said cheerfully. He set Juliana's drink in front of her. "Service was slow." Even as he spoke, he turned around just enough to watch Kyra reach the stage. He pointed her out to Ian. "Does she do that often?"

"If I didn't want to hear about it, I wouldn't have asked," Parker pointed out. "Tell me whatever you want. I'll listen."
~*~*~
"If he does, you'll be paying for it," Anya threatened, though they both knew that it was empty.
~*~*~
The answer would be yes, but Kyra didn't bother to reply. Morgan had been told before she liked his singing voice, and there was no use saying it again. Instead, she just joined to small group of people who were waiting for the band to get set up.
Ian, who had been watching the two of them every now and then while still talking with Juliana. When Kyra left the bar first, he wasn't too surprised by it. "What? Sing or leave you high and dry whenever you're talking with you?" he asked. "Because the answer to both is yes. Most nights she's here she'll sing. Usually only one or two songs before she heads out of here."

"In other words, you and your family actually worked for a living instead of being handed everything," Parker said. "Yeah, he's a well swell guy. I don't blame you for not wanting to claim any relations with him."
~*~*~
Anya woke with the rest of the house, sharing in the amusement of Seth rivalry with the rooster. Before they left, she was sure he would get his revenge in some form or another. But until then, she dressed and joined the rest of the family at the table, listening as everyone discussed their plans for the day. With nothing else to do, everyone would be heading to town, but that didn't mean everyone would be heading in the same direction. Maria had confirmed that she and Marcus would be there to watch Star preform in her competition, but the rest of the brothers seemed to have other ideas of where they would be going. Anya didn't chime in since her plans would most likely mirror Seth's, seeing as he had talked her into changing her mind about attending the festival.
~*~*~
"I'm sure you do," Juliana commented, grinning and taking a sip of her drink.
As she did this, the first of the singers took the stage. Kyra didn't like going first. She might not mind being center or attention, but being first up to sing wasn't something she liked. Rather, she hung back, planning on letting at least this first person go. If no one else had decided on a song choice, then she would go.

Sol smiled dryly. "It wasn't so much that we worked for a living, but that my parents worked for the king himself, my father in his navy and my mother as a lady's maid to his first wife. He thinks my mother is a gold digger, and I'm not good enough to be a prince."
~ • ~ • ~ Seth didn't really have a plan for the Festival, other than seeing Aidan and Star in competition. He still wasn't entirely sure what all there was to do, though he got a few ideas by listening to the Dorrehs discuss their plans. Even then, his plan only really consisted of wandering around and doing whatever seemed most interesting.
~ • ~ • ~ While waiting for Kyra to take the stage, Morgan engaged Juliana in casual conversation, with the occasional flirt being inserted here and there. He gave no sign that he was distracted by the anticipation to hear Kyra sing. Until she took the stage, his focus was solely on Juliana.

Parker scrunched his face up in disgust. "Bring him back over her. I'll teach him not to insult someone's mother," he muttered. People could say what they wanted about him or any of his siblings, but if there's one thing that spelt instant death, was if someone disrespected their mother. While he didn't know Sol's mother personally, he thought he had a right to take up her defense, at least in the moment.
~*~*~
While the conversation was constant, there was a sober air to it. Everyone was excited for the day to come, but it was hard to miss the one voice that wasn't present. But, for the sake of everyone, there was an unspoken agreement in all of the Dorrehs to not draw attention to it. As breakfast finished, Anya helped her mother clear the table away before rejoining Seth and Aidan. "Well, are you two ready to get going?" she asked.
~*~*~
When the first singer finished their song, Kyra leaned over to the closest band member to pass along her selection. There was a brief moment where she thought about backing out this time. What was she even doing this for? Yeah, it was normal for her, but Morgan was never here to watch either. Morgan, who had always seemed to read between the lines better than anyone she had ever known. Yet as the band started to play, there was no backing out of it. So, the woman stepped up to the mic and did her best to not look at the table Morgan occupied. "🎵I heard the angels call again. Threw myself a party, Chardonnay and oxy🎵" she began. "🎵I stopped the screams inside my head. I remember when you had me, floating high like Sid and Nancy.🎵"

To that, Parker didn't have anything to say. While he might have not stood for Jupiter insulting his mother, it was a different matter if she proved him right. So he went on. "And I take it you could care less about the riches and lifestyle," he commented.
~*~*~
Anya didn't object to the grabbing of her hand, and, unseen behind her, Maria caught sight of it too. She missed the small smile her mother sent their way as they walked out into the morning. "At least someone is raring to go this morning," she said. There was no way she was going to try and catch up to Aidan, for he was already too far ahead of them.
~*~*~
(And this is the part of the show where Night poorly describes someone singing.)
The song was one she had sang here before, but normally wasn't a go to for her. Kyra mostly listened to the song on her own time, feeling it hit a chord too close to home to really perform for the entire bar. She didn't know why she wanted to sing it tonight. It might have very well been because she wanted Morgan to hear, to understand like he so often did. Or perhaps to remind herself of why she was even here to begin with. What was clear was, while she had been a decent singer in her younger years, she had matured in voice as well as everything else. "🎵Angels were never meant to fall, and you were the loveliest of all. If I thought God could fix it, I'd pray for your forgiveness. But I've been cast down, thrown out when I crossed to the other side.🎵"
Perhaps it was the alcohol in her system. As much as she liked to believe she could handle her liquor, she knew she was prone to not care as much whenever it came to decision making. So maybe it was the drinks mixed with the small conversation she had with Morgan before getting on stage that spurred the song to jump to her mind. A confession a long time coming that she had failed many times to put into words. Whatever the reason, she had made her choice. "🎵You know devils don't fly, but I try,🎵" she sang the last of the lyrics and somehow managed to keep her gaze from straying to the man she both wanted to avoid and just lose herself in. The scattering applause and drunken cheers followed her as she stepped down and weaved her way back to the bar. She had a drink to finish and then she was calling it a night. There was no need to stay much longer.

"Well..." Sol smirked. "Being rich is nice. But that's because it's my money, that I earned — even if sometimes it was through unsavory means. I haven't accepted a dime of royal money since I left the palace years ago."
~ • ~ • ~ "Yeah, something tells me that's a common occurrence for him," Seth replied. He, too, didn't try catching up to Aidan. By the time they left the porch, the boy was already heaving the barn door open. By the time they caught up, at their own pace, Aidan was on the floor in the stall, with the puppies and Star swarming him with affection. Seth only got them off when he pulled out the food.
While the dogs ate, Seth pulled Aidan to his feet and started picking straw out of his hair.
~ • ~ • ~ ( Naw, it's fine. xD )
Morgan stood riveted for the duration of the song. He understood the story, and the message in it. The song, for him, also brought to light a lot of things Kyra had spent years hiding in the dark.
Despite her earlier suggestion, Morgan hadn't planned on taking the stage tonight. That plan changed sometime between the first line of her song and the last. Kyra's performance had barely finished before Morgan was suddenly striding across the room to the stage. He had to butt the next person in line, but a smile and a wink eased any irritation caused by that. He spoke briefly with the musicians, and then he was on the stage.
And that's when his resolve wavered, just for a second. For Morgan, the most outgoing, devil-may-care guy you're likely to meet, had a secret kryptonite: perfomance anxiety. He had never let it stop him before, which was why so few knew about it, but no matter how many times he took center stage, he always experienced that moment of pure terror when he looked out at everyone staring at him.
Seth usually made him laugh before any kind of performance, and focusing on that got Morgan through. Obviously Seth wasn't here, but Kyra was, and by the gods, he would tell her what she needed to hear.
Morgan was in front of the mic for only a moment when the music started, his mental battle waged in the span of a few seconds that felt to him like an eternity. So no one noticed his moment of fear, or the barely there pause before he started singing.
"🎶You're the last crack on the pavement. You're the water running cold. Into the wild, washed up and wasted. You're staying up, you're staying up at night.🎶" Like Kyra, Morgan's voice had deepened and matured since the last time she heard him sing. There was no sign of his initial unease as he sang. "🎶You're the flower in the concrete. Find your way into the light. I want to show you what you can't see. You're keeping me up, keeping me up at night.🎶"

"What about the payment Jupiter offered you too rescue the royal demons? Aren't you going to go get that after you not through all that trouble?" Patker asked.
~•~•~
"Well they're up bright and early too," Anya said, watching them swarm the boy. "Do you want to take them with us, or keep them in the safety of the stall?"
~•~•~
(OF COURSE, HE DOES! XD This man gets stage fright, yet can dance like Channing Tatum with a flip of a switch. XD)
Kyra had just missed Morgan by seconds. Her path was going a different way than he was forging, so the woman didn't know he had even left the table. The band strikes up again fairly quickly, and she thought nothing of it. The next person in line was just taking their turn. Another swig of her drink was gone before the singer started, making her freeze.
She silently cursed him. For everything he was worth, she cursed him. For that voice, deeper and more sound than she remembered, still sent those chills down her spine, still coaxed her into distraction. And the song choice was deliberate. Even in song, he would still find a way to tell her what she needed to hear. The minute she gave in would be the minute the fight was lost, yet she was beginning to wonder if the fight hadn't been lost long before now. Despite herself, she turned her head to watch Morgan preform.

Sol groaned. "Gods, don't remind me. I'll be giving that to the crew. They can blow it all however and on whatever they like."
~ • ~ • ~ Seth looked at the puppies and considered. "Well, it will be easier to sell them if we bring them, but four puppies could be a lot to handle for two and a half people. So maybe they should stay."
"Awww!" Aidan complained. "I wanna bring them! Please, please, please?"
Seth looked from the puppies to Aidan. He sighed. "When is the herding competition?" he asked Anya.
~ • ~ • ~ ( When he dances he's usually in a crowd of people, which is different from getting up on a stage a giving a performance. But he has danced on a stage (not quite like THAT, though xD), and he's acted before too. It's like he said: he gets stage fright, but he never lets it stop him from performing. Seth normally helps him get over it quicker, but not always. ;) )
Kyra refused to look at him during her performance. For Morgan's, he didn't let her look away. "🎶So let me give you every color that I find in your eyes. You wake me up and it breaks my heart that you're perfectly imperfect. You're hurting but you're worth it. You don't know why I would waste my time, but I'm falling and I mean it. I want you like I need it. There's nothing you could try to change my mind. Cause I'm in love with you.🎶"
He wasn't afraid of those words, or the feelings behind them. He never had been. He had never said them so plainly before, because he knew she wouldn't believe them. But now he knew better. She needed to hear it, so he would say it. However many times it took until she did believe it.
"🎶You live like you're a secret, one that only I could know. Cause I said, 'You know what I want and I know who you are.' I know when I hold you and love you, you'll get up and go before you fall apart. I'll bring you every colour that I find in your eyes.
"🎶You wake me up and it breaks my heart that you're perfectly imperfect. You're hurting but you're worth it. You don't know why I would waste my time, but I'm falling and I mean it. I want you like I need it. There's nothing you could try to change my mind. 'Cause I'm in love, so call me when you want me and I'll come running. Find me waiting at your door. So tell me if you're lonely and it won't last long. Cause I'm in love with you.
"🎶You wake me up and it breaks my heart that you're perfectly imperfect... You wake me up and it breaks my heart that you're perfectly imperfect. You're hurting but you're worth it. "Well, at least no one said you had to stay for the entire Solstice. You can just go, get the money, and leave," Parker offered.

"Gods damn you, Morgan," she muttered under her breath when the song was over. She knew how he felt, even when he tried telling her in round about way. She knew and it had always terrified her. Still did. Yet she had missed it. Missed him. She should have gotten up and just walked out of there, headed to her tent and forgotten the rest. She should have put distance between them. Run away like every single other time in hopes of keeping things safe. But there was no fight left to be fought. When she got up, it was to make her way back to the stage, not in any hurry, but to intersect Morgam before he could reach his table.

Sol sighed. "My life is never that simple. Jupiter's 'prince outfit' reference means he's not giving me my money until after Solstice."
~ • ~ • ~ Seth looked back at the puppies and Aidan's puppy dog eyes. He sighed again. "Fine, they can come. But we're bringing them back after your competition."
"Yay! Thank you!" Aidan hugged him, then Anya too. Seth pulled out the new leashes he bought and gave them to Aidan to distribute. Once attached to the puppies' collars, Aidan gave two leashes to Seth and one to Anya, keeping the last one for himself, plus Star's. "Ready!"
~ • ~ • ~ ( Yeah. ^^ Everybody's got something they're afraid of. We were just talking about Nick's fears last night, after all. Well, this is Morgan's. And it's not new, either. Remember the Seth short story where he shot a grape out of Silas's hand? I first mentioned Morgan's performance anxiety in that. It kinda surprised me, but also made sense. ;D )
Song finished, Morgan finally took his eyes off Kyra. He remained on the stage long enough to accept the applause that followed his heartfelt performance. Then he left, thanking the musicians on his way down. He wanted to straight to Kyra, but figured she'd be more interested in running for the hills after everything he'd just told her. He resolved to give her her space and find her in the morning.
So finding her in his path back to his table was a surprise. He stopped. "Kyra. What —" But that was a stupid question. All of the questions that came to mind just then were, so he opted for silence.

"Well, maybe you can hide out in the bathrooms until it's over," Parker suggested. "That way you don't have to deal with anyone."
~•~•~
Anya gladly took the collar of the puppy Aidan seemed her charge. She waited until he had gotten all of them situated and gave the okay before replying. "Alright, let's go show these pups off."
~•~•~
(Oh yeah, I forgot about that. XD And it does make sense for him.)
"Haven't changed a bit, have you charming?" Kyra asked him when he had stopped before her. Sure, there might have been half a million things she should have said, could have righted the wrongs of years past with a few easy words. But, bold as she was, she still couldn't bring herself to do those things. "Told you that you'd have the girls swooning." She nodded in the direction were a group of three women were staring at Morgan, all grinning and eyeing him up.

"Yeah." Sol smiled wryly. "Maybe I'll try that." He changed the subject. "Are you alert enough to get up? Or at least let me up so I can close the curtains and feed the beasts?" By "beasts" he meant "dogs," which they both proved by lifting their heads, ears perked and eyes eager. Artemis was still on the bed beside Sol; Apollo was on his own bed on the floor, closer to Parker, but he hopped up onto the bed when Sol didn't immediately get up after saying the F-word and laid his chest on Parker so he could reach Sol.
~ • ~ • ~ Seth was already trying to head for the barn doors, but the puppies, having no idea how to walk on a leash, were not making the would-be simple task easy. "I think we're going to need a quick training session first," he commented.
Aidan proved him wrong by walking by with Star and his puppy, which was following along behind his mother. Seth's puppies tried to do the same, reached the ends of their leashes, and started whining until Seth started moving.
Thus: they soon discovered the puppies could and would walk perfectly fine on the leashes, so long as Star was in front of them. Things got a little complicated once they reached the crowded market, however. The number of people clearly intimidated the small puppies, and it took a fair amount of encouragement from Seth, Aidan, and Anya — plus one extra brave pup — to get them going again. After that, things moved along fairly smoothly.
Star and her puppies garnered a lot of attention. Some of it was likely because people recognized Aidan and Star, but most of it was approval and interest. Several people stopped them to ask questions about Star and the puppies, and these people were often surprised when it was Aidan, not Seth or Anya, who boldly and confidently answered all their inquiries.
Each time they were stopped so someone could ask after the puppies, Seth would pick up his puppy so no one could fall in love with the friendly pup. He was holding him now, trying to teach him to take a piece of meat nicely while Aidan unwittingly sold another puppy. Nobody had actually said they would take one yet, but Seth knew people well enough to know that several would come calling again later to buy a pup.
Seth stepped closer to Anya. It had been nearly impossible to walk beside her at all, what with the crowd and the curious puppies pulling them every which way, but whenever they stopped he placed himself near her, so "the puppies" could stay together. "Did your parents decide they want a puppy yet?" he asked her. "Cause if they didn't, they might want to make up their minds before Aidan has them all sold."
~ • ~ • ~ ( Yeah. That's Morgan for you: a goofy contradiction. xD )
Morgan didn't even glance toward the women. His gaze and attention remained solely on Kyra. "I didn't sing for them," he said. He stepped closer to her. "And I have changed, actually. Maybe not in the ways you're referring..." His lips quirked up into his charming grin. "But it other ways. Would you like me to prove it?"

Parker was all up for the plan of closing the curtain, but before he could answer, Apollo had jumped up onto the bed and settled on top of him. He laughed slightly as he was pinned. "Well, I was going to say yes, but it appears someone doesn't want me to get up," he replied.

Having seen and known the puppies, Anya had little doubt that Aidan would have a hard time finding new families for them. She was proven right much sooner than she would have thought, however. It didn't take long before Aidan found himself answering questions about bother mother and puppies, confidently and never missing a beat. No question was left unanswered or given a simple "I don't know." The woman was impressed with the salesmanship he showcased. He had a skill for it, that much was certain.
"I think they would take one if Aidan is unable to find homes for all of them," Anya responded to Seth as he stepped back over to her. They hadn't had much chances to really talk since arriving in the town center. But that was okay. Following Aidan and watching him work his magic was entertaining enough. "Though at this rate, I'm pretty sure we won't even have to worry about taking them back home with us, save yours of course."
~*~*~
(I love him for it. XD)
His gaze never wavered and Kyra found herself trapped in those eyes. A good kind of trapped, though. Her lips mirrored his as one hand reached out, hooking a finger around one of his belt loops to pull him closer still. "I think we should head somewhere a little quieter before you do," she returned. "But the question is, your tent or mine?"

Sol chuckled and shook his head. "Nah, he wants me to feed him." Apollo's ears went up at the F-word and he gave a quiet whine that clearly wanted to be a bark. Sol put one finger to his lips. "No barking. Good boy. Now, get off so we can get up." Apollo huffed at him but did as he was told. Artemis got off the bed as well, but only after giving Sol a kiss first. "Ack, thank you." Sol shifted out from under Parker, then rolled — toward him, not away. "Good morning," he said with a smirk.
~ • ~ • ~ Seth chuckled. "No kidding. At least I'm not the only one who was so easily bought by his sales pitch." The puppy, apparently offended, tried to climb higher in his arms to kiss his face. Seth leaned his face away, laughing. "Alright, alright. You helped too." The puppy huffed; Seth ruffled his ears.
~ • ~ • ~ ( Me too. 😊 )
Morgan came closer at her urging, his eyes flaring. "Yours." He smirked. "Callum's in mine."

"Really? I couldn't tell," Parker returned, laughing a little bit. As Apollo got off of him, he turned over onto his back so Sol could get up, one hand up to rub his eyes. The action was cut short when he felt Sol roll closer to him. Removing his hand from his face, he found the man looking down at him. If only his head wasn't splitting apart. "Good morning," he replied. His hand idly found the side of his face. "I'd try being cute, but my head is killing me."
~*~*~
"Let's be honest, you were easy prey for him," Anya told him, smirking. "I'm pretty sure you would have taken one even if he didn't say a word."
~*~*~
"As much as I would love to go scar him for life, I think mine would be the best option," Kyra mused. She stepped back and away, letting her hand slowly fall away. Turning, she sent him a daring smirk as she turned away, knew good and well he would follow.

Sol hid a smile. "Well, dear, that's what happens when you drink too much," he teased. "Stay put." He rolled out of bed, grabbed the curtain, and slid it over the window in one easy move. Then he left the room, his dogs trailing him. He quickly fed them to get them off his back, then got a glass of water from the bar and returned to his bedroom. He offered Parker the glass. "This should help."
~ • ~ • ~ Seth held the puppy out toward her, showing off his big eyes and adorable fluffy ears. "Can you blame me?" he asked. He turned the puppy to face him. "You are going to get me into a world of trouble, aren't you?" The puppy wagged his tail and tried to lick Seth's nose.
~ • ~ • ~ Morgan watched her go, admiring the view. He glanced just once toward the table where he had left Ian and Juliana, but he couldn't bring himself to feel bad for ditching them. Because he was, no question about it. He followed Kyra, catching up just as she was leaving the tent. He cast a quick look around and, finding no one in the near vicinity, hooked one arm around her waist and pulled her into a patch of shadows. Before she had a chance to protest or question, he kissed her.
