Me, for once: You know what? I'm fine actually My uterus, immediately: Brave but foolish worm, feel the wrath of the gods of old. It is time to be having so many children Right after you give birth to a child, you have a period that lasts for 2 to 4 weeks. Either way, your body punishes you. I just love that!!

If it were possible, I’d take someone’s period for them because I desperately need one.

Oh dear goodness that sounds awful, especially after carrying a baby around for 9 months and giving birth to them. post-partum bleeding isn't like a period, there's no cramps. it's just a woman's body recovering from birth by pushing out remaining blood and tissue. by day 3ish you can use regular pads. It's only painful if something is wrong, like infection or hemorrhaging.

As someone who's had a kid, no. Its not a period. Its just the rest of the lining etc flushing itself out and patching up. Also its not just blood but also all of the childs pooping and peeing it did while in there so it smells a thousand times worse and can also range in color from black to green!
Fun!

Whenever my cramps get really bad I try to think of it as practice for when I have a kid. It helps me work through them instead of just popping ALL the ibuprofen in my possession, which is what I used to do.

i just got my period ten days after my last one. what the hell bro. i’m traveling so maybe that’s it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ periods only occur 14 days after ovulation so that was probably a “withdraw bleed” (your body freaked out because something in your cycle wasn’t right) aka not a real period. It happens some times during periods of stress or hormonal imbalance.

I had pain free periods before I gave birth to my daughter. Now I get cramps and migraines.
I didn't realize how lucky I was before.

These days I get bad joint pain, paricularly in my right hip, my knees, and my right ankle (I rolled it a couple summers ago). I also get migraines around that time of month which leave me out of commission for a few days
When I was younger (before I went on the pill) I would have the heaviest flow I essentially had to wear adult diapers otherwise I'd bleed through. My acne was also really, really bad. Like I had giant red bumps on my face and it was so bad it disfigured my face when it would get particularly swollen. And then the cramps, oh god the cramps. I remember countless nights of writhing in agony on the floor and crying my eyes out.

This is why I take birth control specifically for periods now. Aunt Flow in multiple points in my life was very ruthless for me and kept me bedridden on one end or in the bathroom waiting for my nausea to tip over in another (Which imagine being me who's emetophobic and getting nausea hahaha I haTE IT) alongside being anemic/have iron issues and monthlys are heavy which great combo. x.x Also TMI moment you ever have your butt have that sudden "twinge" and it hurts like hell for half a minute or something when your period is on? I hated those alongside the horribly bad cramps and back pain, I have to deal with a cramping uterus as is I don't need my backside joining the party fff.
Have you thought about going on BC if you aren't on it? You can breakthrough bleed at the worse for a while at the start and if you miss but that's about it. (Unless you're doing the Horizontal Tango with someone which in that case get a plan B)

be very cautious of taking BC for menstrual related issues. BC isn't an end solution to health issues. at best, in the majority of health-related prescriptions, it puts a giant pause button on the problem. stuff like heavy flow, too much blood loss, pain that can't be managed by over-the-counter painkillers, etc is not normal. they are symptoms that point to fundamental problems causing an unhealthy menstrual cycle. it's kinda like if you sprung leaks in a pipe and the plumber's solution was to turn off your water indefinitely; because effectively, BC just shuts down the whole system for those unaware, the way common oral pills (in layman's terms) work is essentially tricking your reproductive system into thinking you're pregnant. the excess of estrogen and progesterone mimics the hormonal condition of pregnancy, and thus your ovaries do not release an egg during the ovulation part of the cycle. periods are shed uterine lining, which is the bodies way of prepping for possible pregnancy every cycle--but if there's no ovulation there's no lining to shed. the problem with this is that menstrual cycles, while annoying, are necessary and healthy functions of the female body that exist for a reason. primarily regulation of hormones and reproductive health (which maintaining those functions even if you have no interest in sex or conception is still important for overall health). there's a huge issue in the women's health industry because BC has become the "miracle pill". it's stunted women's health issue for decades because why would anyone look deeper into such problems when a doctor can slap a BC prescription over it? i'm definitely not saying that BC has no legitimate medical use. it has its place!!! but it's the sad truth that it has a grip on the women's healthy industry. doctors would much rather cover up symptoms of an unhealthy reproductive system with an easy pill than actually solve the underlying issues. easier for a plumber to just never turn on the water than to find and fix the leaky pipe. anyway ...point is, if you are having horrible cycles, BC isn't necessarily a fix. try to seek a doctor who will actually look deeper at the why/how and help you with a solution, because a healthy cycle is a very good function and indicates a health overall body, so covering up symptoms with BC can be disastrous long-term. if your do decide to just go with BC for whatever reason, make sure you are thoroughly explained the side-effects (because they can be really nasty and rarely ever given proper warning). be wary of any doctor who tells you having a functioning reproductive cycle isn't important. always be fully informed! edit: yes i am aware this is a cat forum
