Do you ever feel uneasy if you smell a smell, and you don't know where it's coming from, even if it's a good smell?
Right now, I smell scrambled eggs, but there are no scrambled eggs in my house, so part of me is thinking that it might be a gas leak or something, don't gas leaks usually smell like eggs?
Or...and I hope this is the case, it's just the neighbors making food, not sure why I'd be able to smell what they're cooking, but maybe it's just really strong eggs.

This EXACT situation has happened to me three separate times over multiple years:
Me: *comes downstairs/walks into room* Why does it smell like egg rolls in here? Person: There are no egg rolls here and you're insane. Me: ok. *sits down on couch and plays on my phone* *Person leaves the room for some reason and comes back* Person: huh. Me: What? Person: It DOES smell like egg rolls in here.

That's so weird Maybe we just have a hyper sense of smell or something lol I already know that I can hear better than most people I know, like, one time, I was out on the trampoline with my sister, and I could hear the phone ringing from inside the house, which was a good distance away. Another time, I heard someone coming up the stairs before the dog did It could also be the fact that I'm constantly on alert or something lol

Years ago when I still drank caffeinated sodas, a freshly-poured soda would occasionally smell like cotton candy for some reason. Dr. Pepper and Coca Cola were the most common offenders, but other types of soda were capable of doing it, too. Never had a clue as to what caused it. Probably the sugar. It hasn't happened since I switched to root beer, though. So it could also just be my imagination. Really? That actually sounds pretty awesome lol

There's a particular smell only I have ever been able to smell. Except it doesn't really smell like anything. Its like a chemical/plasticky twang in the back of my nose. It is usually sudden and very brief and for some reason brings about the sensation of heightened senses and makes me think of aliens. Specifically a dream I had when I was very little about stereotypical gray-green bug eyed ones while I was on a table.
I can go years without ever smelling it or I can smell it every day at random times of day for about a week.
One of my friends has even suggested I'm an experiment.

I could hear my name from insane distances. Once my friend was talking at a normal level to my mom in the kitchen, and I was out in the driveway almost to the street spray painting some scenery, and I actually stopped what I was doing, went up to her, and said, "What about Turin?" and she freaked out. I can be sitting in the back office at work and hear conversations going on at the coffee station, which is around the corner and about the distance of going through a typical sit down restaurant. As for the smells, I think my daily vitamin smells like play doh. I am the only person that can't smell when they are making bacon for the breakfast at work (I blame that I am there the whole time they're cooking it for that), and the smell of bananas, whether it be an actual banana, candle, or even someone's e-cig once, makes me nauseous (then again, I have somewhat of a banana phobia, so it's all psychological). Also, I think one of my cats smells like cedar.

I had this one girl literally chase me with one once because she caught on that I kept backing away from it when she was waving it around.

I remember when I was in school, this dumb girl would always chase me around, trying to statically shock me I never kicked her though, I don't remember what happened with that, either she just grew out of it, or I moved I can't remember if I moved before she stopped or not

I couldn't retaliate at all for fear of losing my job. It was ok though, I knew she wasn't going to last long based on her attitude and complete disregard for the rules - she got fired about 2 weeks in.

Real bully attitude, thought she was going to climb over anyone and everyone to get to the top. In 2 weeks. She used to leave the property for hours at a time for "lunch" (which apparently if there are 2 people on one of you can go run to get food and come right back, though when I started there that wasn't a rule). She got caught by the VP of the company on her cell phone cussing loudly walking around the lobby, which is what technically got her fired.

i remember going into shops at disneyland and it smelling really really weird, like if i went into a gift shop the entire thing would smell subtly like sweets and fresh clothing ( (enough to be weird) almost like that one conspiracy theory. that freaked me out a bit bc i thought that was bs
a little off topic but there's just one smell that kinda makes me rly emotional whenever i smell it ,,, idk what brands it is but it's a big red 3 wick candle and it just smells like christmas in childhood. it smells like pine and peppermint and has hints of warm smells like chocolate and it's just exactly what my house smelled like on xmas in the best years <3

I have a terrible sense of smell and literally can never smell a thing. So in the rare instances I do I always feel unsettled lol
In a serious sense though the smell of smoke triggers a ptsd flashback to a house fire I had a few years back that completely destroyed everything. Even when my moms cooking I cant help the anxiety attack I get when she burns something. I just stay in my room with the door closed for hours when that happens.

We rebuilt our house in the same spot and it is a lot nicer, we have a new appreciation for the stuff we have but also know that if we were to lose it all then we would be okay. I guess everything happens for a reason.
