Ok so which character would you like yours to be based on? I don’t have a preference and what ages/time period were you thinking?

i'm good with both as well! psyche, perhaps? time period wise, i'm honestly open to anything? something gathic might be fun since it's such a different aesthetic to the original classical greek? or even modern?

Ok! Sounds good to me! And do you mean gothic? I’m good with that or modern! What time period/location would you want if we did gothic?

that's what i get for not proofreading i guess lmao yes, i totally meant gothic
i envisioned victorian gothic/gothic revival, though i suppose mideval gothic could work as well? location wise probably europe somewhere? england is the obvious choice, but anywhere works really.

Did you want mine to be the actual son of Aphrodite? Or perhaps the son of a powerful witch? Like how closely did you want it to follow the original story?

that's completely up to you, though i personally think it might be interesting to have him be the son of someone other than aphrodite herself, i don't really mind either way, so whatever you think is best works for me!

Ok! Sounds good! And how grounded in reality do you want this to be? No magic, some magic, lots of magic?
Sorry for all my questions haha

Aero de Muer25 years old, MaleAero de Muer is the son of the Bianca de Muer—a well known sorceress who is known for her striking beauty and vain persona. Though he is not particularly fond of his mother, he does her bidding out of obligation, and is often sent around the kingdom on missions for her—missions that often include the assassinations or kidnappings of those who cross her. He never lets anyone see his face as he is meant to keep his identity hidden when on his missions, but if he were to reveal himself, one would see a tall, broad shouldered man with light brown, shoulder length hair, and a trim beard. His nose is slightly upturned, and he has high cheek bones, and soft grey-green eyes. He has learned and inherited magic from his mother, though usually it is only used to make his missions easier.

Evian Beatrice Meredith - 22 - female soft-spoken, creative, loyal, emotional, distrusting Evian, or Evie as her family likes to call her, is the youngest of her royal siblings and the daughter of the king and queen of a small Kingdom. The darling of her country, she was never going to inherit the throne - that burden has fallen on her oldest sister and her husband or, in the event her sister should pass before her parents, her eldest brother - but she holds power despite that. The people love her for her beauty and her quiet personality has not given them a reason to reconsider their love for her, something she's not reluctant to exploit if she needs to. She's on the taller side for a woman and has a slim, feminine build. Her hair reaches to just about her waist and is straight, thick and a rusty orange colour. Her eyes are pale blue and round, her features framed by light freckles. She's taken well to the life of a lady and is comfortable doing what is expected of her, but enjoys little more than a hunt, though this is something kept from her people.

For what seemed like almost too long for any mortal woman, Aero’s mother, Bianca de Muer, had held the title of most beautiful in the kingdom. He knew that her ageless beauty was magically enchanted, but that was something he alone had seen proof of. People from far and wide sought out his mother to bask in her beauty, as well as seek her supernatural help in their personal affairs, and Bianca thrived off of the unlimited attention.
There had, of course, been a few girls here and there who were rumored to rival the beauty of the stunning sorceress, but Bianca had made sure they never lived long enough to be serious threats. And usually she would dispatch of them using her son, Aero, whom she had trained up in the dark arts, and who had become quite the successful assassin. In his first few jobs, Aero had been reluctant to go through with the killings, as he’d been distracted by the innocent beauty of his targets. But his mother had cast a spell to harden his heart, which made it easier for him to get rid of her competition.
Aero’s current target was Evian Beatrice Meredith, the youngest daughter of the king and queen. Though the man had killed nobles before, this was the highest profile assignment he’d ever taken on, which meant the execution and the fallout would be much more dangerous than usual.
He’d used a cloaking spell to make himself blend in with his surroundings as he scaled the castle walls up to the eastern tower the princess called home, and when he reached the balcony to her bedroom, he carefully climbed onto it and peered through the window. Taking a look, he confirmed that she was there, asleep in bed. “Perfect,” he murmured under his breath. If she was asleep that would make this quick and easy.
Slowly, he pushed open the glass door to her room and tiptoed over to her bed, his breathing silent and his footsteps practically inaudible. But when he caught sight of her face in the moonlight, her beauty stopped him in his tracks, and for a moment, he could feel his heart ache in a way he hadn’t felt in a long time.

( evie's asleep, so this'll be a weird, kinda short post. sorry, it'll get better once she actually wakes up ^^" )
Evian had never been a deep sleeper. She'd always had trouble falling asleep and more trouble staying that way, ever since she was a child. Her wet nurse turned governess had lamented this many a time throughout her childhood, often to the Princess herself. She blamed it on her royal upbringing. She slept in the most comfortable bed in the Kingdom, the finest fabrics kept the light out in the mornings. It shouldn't come as a surprise that even the slightest disturbance - sometimes less than even that - might rouse her.
Tonight, though, she didn't wake, something she'd later attribute to Aero's skill. Though what he did was not good, he was undoubtedly good at what he did. He appeared silently, as though he were little more than a breeze through a cracked window. But he was not, and somewhere deep within in her subconscious, it seemed Evie had registered this.
She flinched as if burned by some imaginary flame, her brow furrowing ever so slightly in her sleep. She murmured something, her eyes flitting behind her eyelids, then stilled again, though her frown remained. Perhaps she was dreaming, perhaps she was simply stirring ever so slightly. When she woke, she wouldn't recall. Was there even really a difference at all?

When Aero saw the slight shift from the peacefulness of the girl’s face to a much more troubled look, he stopped in his tracks. Had she sensed him somehow? Despite him mascarading under a thick shroud of magic? Based on her displeased frown, it would seem so. And he decided right then and there that he never wished to see her with such a frown ever again. Then, he mentally berated himself for thinking such thoughts. Such...fantasies. No. He would dispatch of the princess and then never think of her again. She was just another job. Another assignment.
So why, when she stirred once more, did such a strong desire to protect her arise within him?
He moved closer and hovered his hand above her face—a face that radiated such marvelous beauty—and closed his eyes. For the first time in years, he couldn’t watch the Deathspell take its toll on such a woman. So he closed his eyes and began to whisper the first words of the spell.

Even in her sleep, Evie felt the cold that came with the magic. She could feel the world slowing to a crawl, her thoughts flowing away from her like water through a cracked basin. At first, it was comforting. She sank deeper into sleep again, as if she'd never stirred at all, her body sighing as it settled into the mattress. Then, it was suffocating. Her eyes flew open as her lungs tried frantically, hopelessly to breathe. If she'd had the air to, she'd have screamed. She could not.
Her vision was swimming, but she didn't need to make out details to know that someone - a man, by the looks of this, was standing over her. Had she been a little more awake, she'd known that she had to get away, but in her total panic and newly woken state, all she could think was that here was someone to help, to save her. She reached for him desperately, forcing her reluctant limbs to move. Survive, her entire body was screaming, because though her mind was not with her, her body knew what life was and what death would be, and it knew to clutch onto one and run from the other.
Somehow, she managed to find his outstretched arm and she tugged at it weakly. Look, the movement said. See. I'm dying. Save me. Still, she couldn't breathe. Some force was keeping her lungs from expanding and her heart from beating as it could. She'd later reflect on the fact that it didn't hurt. Despite how terrifying the whole thing was, she wasn't in pain. At that moment, that didn't matter.
Survive.

When she reached out and touched him, the spell halted its course. His arm felt like it was on fire where her fingers grasped onto him, yet it didn’t hurt...it just didn’t allow him to continue with the spell. Not because the princess, in her weakened state, actually was physically able to stop him, but because the fire she sparked in him gave him no choice but to want to protect her.
In that moment, he was grateful she couldn’t see his face, for the panic and confusion that was there was a level of uncertainty and weakness he would never allow anyone to see. Pulling away from her, he turned his back and leaned heavily against the wall as his breathing began to quicken. What was he going to do? He couldn’t leave her here. His mother would find out he’d failed to go through with his task likely before he had even returned, and would eventually come herself to finish the job.
But he also knew that he couldn’t do the task himself. Which left only one option: he must hide her.
Returning to her bedside, the man scooped up the girl in his strong arms and began whispering a new spell. A spell that would take them far into the mountainous wilderness, where she would be safe. At least, for now.

L The moment the spell lost its grip on her, Evie's lungs flooded with air and her body with pure relief. It felt like she'd always imagined flying must feel like. Her head was still spinning from the lack of oxygen, but she was quickly regaining her senses as her mind, too, woke up. Unfortunately for her, it did not happen fast enough. By the time she'd found clarity, she was being picked up from her bed as the stranger - intruder, she was starting to realise - started murmuring in a language she didn't recognise.
"No," she said, pushing at the intruder's chest as if this might somehow force him to put her back down. "Let me go." The panic was returning. "Let me go!" Her voice was louder this time, brimming with fear. If she'd been flying a moment ago, she was coming crashing down to earth now, and it was not worth the thrill she'd felt at being alive only mere moments ago. "Guards!"
She'd not finished the word before the familiar click of the door being shoved open sounded in the otherwise silent castle. It wasn't soon enough. She never heard the door slam against the wall, nor the sound of heavy footsteps on hardwood floors. By the time the guards had come to save her, she was long gone.

In only a matter of seconds, Aero and the girl were standing at the base of a mountain, surrounded by wildflowers, chirping birds, and the cool breeze of the mountain air. He had set her down and taken a few steps back as he began pacing back and forth, trying to decide what to do with her now. He had let the cloaking spell wear off, so he no longer blended into his surroundings, but he still wore a cloak and mask that hid his face from her sight.
Finally, after a few minutes of mumbling to himself, he turned around and said, “You can never go back there. If you do she will find and kill you.” It was a blunt statement, but it was the truth. There just wasn’t a way for her to keep her old life.
