The young man nodded as he scratched his chin. "Alright. That's good." His father wasn't a cruel or evil man. In fact he was known to be rather benevolent. However, if he found out about Atlis while in a good mood, it would certainly help the other prince. As his sister laughed about Atlis' lack of magical knowledge, Bazil furrowed his brows. He never considered there would be people out there who didn't know about magic or at least had never seen it. He was curious to find out more about Virelith's culture, but now wasn't the time.
Bazil dipped his head in reply to the other man's thanks. He hadn't moved much, but could feel some energy return to him. When Atlis mentioned running from the Zetta king, Bazil couldn't help but laugh a little. "I wouldn't worry about running. If he doesn't want you to stay for an indefinite time, he will allow you to stay for at least a day." He paused for a moment, realizing perhaps the younger man didn't like that idea.
"If you want somewhere to run, there's a balcony just outside the court. Next to it are thick vines if ivy, which should hold your weight. You can climb down and then head into the city unless you can cover your tracks in the forest. The rangers of the king are some of the best there are. By hiding in the city it'll be more diffcult to fine you."
-0-
Olwen couldn't tell the woman she was looking for a runaway prince. That would raise suspicion and could get her and Atlis into troube. She wouldn't want to deal with the king if she brought news that harm or even death fell his son. "I am a messenger. I'm heading to the capital of Zetta to give something to a noble." If she were truly a messenger, it would've been unwise to give that information away. However it was a good enough lie that hopefully wouldn't raise questions from the stranger.
"What about you? Are you from around here?" It was a normal enough question that would tell the hunter a thing or two about the woman. Although she doubted the stranger was a threat, Olwen couldn't be too cautious. The last thing she needed was for the mission to go qrong.
(When it comes to Olwen and Eadrid, should they have been somewhat close when she was younger? Also do you think she and Atlis would've been something of friends before their duties seprated them?)

Evanora smiled at the young woman. "I actually abide a few ways away, but food where I am is kind of scarce, so I like to travel a little ways to eat. I do apologize for tackling you, I should be more careful next time." She didn't want to make the woman mad, she could easily be out fought, especially with the training Olwen had to go through the past months. Whn she mentioned being a messenger, Eadrid couldn't help but narrow her eyes slightly. It may have been a while since she was Queen, but she new messengers wouldn't disclose such information so quickly. She shrugged it off and changed the subject, not wanting to reveal who she was or what she knew. Atlis nodded greatfully at Basil, he wasnt one to run from problems, but since he was a tresspasser in a rival castle, being captured was not in his best interest right now. He took a deep breath and stood up, ready to get the answer they need. "Do you wish for me to stay here? Where would be the best place for me to go while you go speak to the king?" He asked,m not wanting to over step his boundaries. Evanora stood slowly after Atlis. She didn't want to speak to her father, she was sure he would have lots of questions, and would probably want to speak with Atlis himself. If that were the case, Atlis wouldn't be able to use his escape plan he had originally thought through. She turned her bright green eyes to her brother, her face growing more sober.

(Don't worry about it. I completely get it. Your muse was a wonky. It sucks, but it happens.)
"I don't think my father would appreciate knowing that we brought a stranger into our great-grandmother's study. My own is down the hall, I think it's best if we move in there. Or at least you head there while I go find my father." The only reason why they were in the old study in the first place was because they needed a place to hide. If Atlis were brought into his study, it would be a better place to talk. The situation would more than likely end in a conversation between the Zettan royals and Atlis.
The prince began to head out of the room. Taking a quick look down the hall, he made sure no one would spot them. After determining there was no one around, he signled to Atlis and Evanora it was safe. Slowly he began to head out into the hall, keeping an eye on the area.

The assassian nodded, but didn't say anything. She had run into a few people in the area who had low food supplies. Of course it was mostly lack of any game in the first, which she found odd. Even a little unsettling to a degree. Focusing back on the stranger, Olwen offered a small smile.
"Well it was nice to meet you, miss. Now if you don't mind my quick exit I'll be on my way. Good luck finding food." Olwen still couldn't figure out why the woman was familiar to her. Why she felt like she could trusted her. It bothered the young woman, though it was more like trying to remeber something long forgotten than something that made her uneasy. The assassian pushed the thoughts out of her head. She had a mission to do and the quicker she could get the prince home, the safer she would be.

Atlis and Evanora followed behind Basil, making their steps light. Evanoras heart lit up like a child sneaking something for the first time. Her little giggle filled Atlis's ears as he walked in front of her, making him smile slightly. He understood that having him in their great grandmothers study could cause a greater problem, family around this castle seemed to be of high regards. His heart burned for passion and love again in his home. Thoughts of his mother and younger sister flashed through his mind, momentarily bringing him back to his childhood. He tried his best to be quiet and keep up with Basil, but his thoughts made his feet drag slightly. Not realizing that Evanora had somehow gotten in front of him, he paused, looking around. He didn't want to take a wrong turn, so he turned his ears on, trying to catch the foot steps of Basil and Evanora, hoping to reunite with them n the hallway. His heart began to race as he realized he had lost his way and had gotten separated from his guides. Instead of continuing to look for the two, he quickly tuned into a room, closing the door behind him. He let out a little exasperated sign and leaned up against the door. way to go big dummy he thought to himself. The last thing he needed right now was to get caught by someone in this castle and bring him in front of the king before Basil had gotten the chance to talk to him. Before Atlis could really make any decision, an older woman shuffled into the room through a door on the other side of the large room. She paused and looked up at Atlis, Squinting her eyes. She had a tan robe of sorts on, and she was carrying a broom with a pale of rags. Atlis knew immediately that she was a maid of some sort, or even possibly Evanora and Basils nurse. He let out a little squeak and opened the door where he had come through and ran, hoping to happen upon the two he had lost. Eadrid nodded and stepped out of the way of Olwen. She really did seem like she had something really important to do. Frustration set in as she watched her walk away down the path. It had been weeks, if not months since the winds brought tales of er old kingdom. Last thing she heard was how the king began to pillage, killing children. She never heard anything about her own children. This made her heart ache with a great intensity. She missed Atlis and his brothers, not to mention her little girls who were just a mere few months old when the horrible thing happened to her, causing her to flee away. She attempted to turn away, wanting to head back to the saftey of the hidden cove she now called home. Since her banishment, you could say, she had taken on a new task, being a mother to magical beings. It was on the wings of these animals that she could find peace, but also where she would hear the sad news of her past life. After a ways of walking she heard the low deep rumble of a familiar creature. She let out a little call, sounding slightly similar to a loon, letting the creature know it was her and he could approach safely. A large bear looking creature stepped out from behind a tree, dipping his head in greeting. "Its safe to turn." Eadrid said, lying her staff on the ground. As soon as the words floated off her tongue, the animal let out a large roar and shifted to a human-like form. "I have news. And your not going to like it." He said, his eyes staring deeply into hers. (I was thinking of having this creature tell her that he saw Atlis at the kingdom of Zetta with a =n elf-like man ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ what do you think? )

The prince swiftly lead the way towards his study. He moved quickly through the halls, only glancing back occasionally to check on his sister and their guest. As though he were in a trance, he made his way to the study with ease. He spent much of his time there between his duties as prince and his rides. Bazil turned as he opened the door. Atlis was missing. The man's heart sank as he widly glanced around the hall. He wasn't there.
"This is bad. Atlis is gone!" He whispered to his sister. "And I lost him! I should've been paying closer attention." Bazil was concerned about the various possibilities of what could happen if the other prince was caught. After thinking the situation over for a moment, the young man glanced at Evanora.
"We need to find Atlis before anyone else does. Uh I'll go retrace our steps," Bazil stated. Before his sister could reply, he headed back through the halls to fine the missing prince. He didn't know what would happen if one of the staff or even his father found Atlis. Bazil feared what could possibly happen to the prince, especially if Val caught him.

Olwen offered a final nod and smile before continuing on her path. Leaving the stranger behind her, she turned her attention back to tracking the prince. She had been following leads about Atlis for nearly a week and she couldn't help but feel like she was getting close.
The assassian travled for a while longer through the forest. It was mostly the same thing she had been seeing across the past few days. Trees, underbrush, birds, and the occasional small animal or deer. It was rather boring. However Olwen tredged on and kept her focus on her mission and what could happen if she succeeded. The thought of failure lingered in the back of her mind, but she was well trained. She hoped she completed her mission. She couldn't fail.
(Should Olwen realize who Eadrid is before they come across Atlis?)

Atlis sprinted through the halls, his mind in a state of panic. The last thing he needed right now was to be caught by someone other than Basil or Evanora. His worn out shoes made loud flappy noises on the stone hallway, his breathe was coming out in gasps. Unbenounced to him, his hands were in fits, his nails digging into his palms. As he turned a wide corner, he slowed. His stepped slowed, he needed to calm down. He needed to catch his breath. think He forced his heart to slow down, and his mind to focus. Imagine you were back home. If you had a study, it would be by the library. He stopped next to a large wooden door and peeked inside. What he saw made his heart drop to hit feet. Evanora turned to follow her brother. She couldn't believe she had somehow lost Atlis. She shook her head and turned out into the main hallway. She began to jog, calling out Atlis name softly, hoping to find him before anyone else did. As she rounded the corner to the hallway where the kings courtroom was, her heart stopped. It was Atlis. He was halfway in the door of the Kings court. She sped up and and grabbed him by the amr, spinning him around so fast that it made both of them lose their balance. She Landed on top of him, her nose slamming into his. "Blasted." She cursed, cradling her nose. "We need to go now." She hissed, yanking him and herself to her feet. This could be bad." She turned and sprinted back down the way she came, not noticing her nose dripping blood down onto her silk blouse. As they neared the end of the hallway where their studies were, she pushed him into Basils study and angrily turned away. "You're going to get yourself killed before we even get you help." Irritation laced her voice, stabbing Atlis in the heart. "Now you better hope my father didn't see you poking your nose where it didn't belong." She grabbed a few tissues and threw them at atlis, passively telling him to wipe his blood.
Eadrid listened intently as the man-beast as he spoke of someone running from the kingdom of Verlith. A little redhead boy, who looked as though he was a freshly picked apple. Atlis... She covered her mouth with her hand, holing in a scream. As the man continued to speak, her heart sank. There was word in the kingdom that the king wanted him dead for treason. He had already attempted to kill her, and she knew the life of an outlaw was not an easy feat. Tears streamed down her eyes as the man finished his message. "Thank you Matri." She said, suddenly growing angry. She stood erect, her eyes flashing. So that is where Olwen was going. it wasnt to send a message, it was to kill my son. The anger in her chest burned with a new hatred for her husband.

Bazil grew pale as he spotted Atlis at the end of the hall. Everything that could go wrong would happen at that moment. His ears pressed aganist his head as he stared at the man with unease. Evanora reacted before he could, rushing forward towards the prince. When the pair collided into each other, the young man sprang towards them. He quickly reached their sides and began to help them to their feet. His sister didn't say anything as she turned and began to head back the way they came. Once Atlis was up and going after Evanora, Bazil checked the door before following them back down the hall.
Once they were safely away from his father's court and into a study, Bazil noticed the blood on his sister's blouse. Her nose was bleeding after the collision with Atlis. Before the young man could get a word out, she started to scold the other prince. An amused smile spread across Bazil'a lips, but he didn't make a sound. As his sister continued to speak, Bazil took a quick look into the hall. He didn't hear or see anyone. That was a good sign. Probably. Closing the door behind him, the half-elf turned back toward Atlis and Evanora.
"How did you get lost?" He evenly questioned the other prince.
-0-
The assassian was closer to finding Atlis. Once she found him, then she could bring him home and she would move onto her next mission. She had been walking for some time now, though hadn't been keeping up with how long. Worrying about that kind of thing wasn't what she was trained to do. Since coming across the older woman, Olwen hadn't seen anyone else. She barely knew where she was in the strange kingdom. She needed to get higher to get a better view of the land.
Taking a quick look around, the pale woman spotted a large tree. It appeared to be on of the tallest around. With careful, graceful movements, Olwen quickly make her way to the upper branches. She had a better view of everything. In the distance she could see the castle and nearby that, tiny buildings that made up the town. She was in the Zetta capital. Atlis likely went into the town where he would blend in and could resupply. It made the most sense. With a target in mind, she scrambled down the tree and began to head that way.

(lol I love Evanoras attitude.)
Atlis looked up at Basil, he had rolled the tissues up his nose and stuck them up as far as he could. "Um. I got lost in my thoughts..." atlis really didn't know what to tell the two royals what had happened. There really was no excuse for him o have gotten so off path, he figured that the study was a pretty straight forward path from where they were before. The boy really needed to get his act together, especially if he wanted help.
Eadrid began wallking towards the direction of the path. She wasnt sure what she was going to do, but she knew she needed to do something. She didn't know what the assassins intentions were with her son, but seeing she was an assassin, they couldn't be good. As she paced down the dirt path, she was aware of someone behind her. As she turned, she saw the bear like man wobbling to catch up with her. She let out a laugh and pointed her finger. "Go home." She called, not wanting to make a scene. Without warning the explosive sound of the man shifting back into a bear seemed to shake the forest. It made eadrid feel alive. She turned and back to walk once more.

(Honestly I love it too. She's great!)
The prince placed a hand on Atlis' shoulder and offered a friendly smile. "I understand, it happens sometimes. Keep up next time, though. I wouldn't want you running into the wrong person." He was mostly concerned about guards, his father, or one of the advisors. If any of them caught the prince, there was bound to be questions and a well organized search of the castle. Bazil would rather have his father find out about their guest through more controlled means than through a false alarm.
"Do you think anyone saw you while you were lost?" The question was sudden, but important to ask. If anyone did see Atlis, it would be reported to his father and Val immediately. They would make a search for the prince, which would complicate the situation more than it already was. Bazil chose not to focus on those possibilities for a moment, waiting to see what the other prince would say. If he had been spotted though, Bazil would go to his father and tell him everything. The longer they kept Atlis hidden, the more likely problems would arise.
-0-
As Olwen made her way towards the town, a booming sound seemed to shake the forest. She jumped slightly, startled by the sudden noise. The woman could practically feel it inside her chest, even after the sound faded away. Ravens cawed in the distance and began their frantic flight into the sky while the insect noises that had been prevalent throught the assassin's journey seemed to go silence. The ivory-skinned woman searched around her for a moment before managing to calm herself. There was something in the forest, something she didn't want to run into. Her mind flashed to the woman from earlier. What if she was in trouble? Olwen didn't want to go back for some stranger, but something was pulling her towards that direction.
Perhaps it was because the older woman looked familiar or maybe it was some desire to help. The assassian wasn't entirely sure, but didn't fight herself as she began to head back.

Atlis shook his head. "I don't believe anyone saw me." He said, rubbing his arm. Nervousness ate at him, he had screwed up once again. Suddenly he stopped, "I ran into a lady that looked somewhat like a maid... Or maybe a nurse?" He recalled the incident where he had gotten stuck in the room with her. "She didn't day anything or look concerned, she just looked at me." He kind of laughed, thinking it wouldn't be a big deal.
Eadrid moved swiftly through the woods. She didn't know what she was planning on doing just yet, but she knew she was no match for a trained assassin. As she pressed onward, she couldnt help but think of her son and the danger he was in. If he was really in a rival kingdoms castle, it could be the death of him, and even possibly his father. She paused and took in the forest around her. She wasnt sure how far she as from the castle, or Olwen, but she knew that the magical creature wasnt too far behind. He never was.

"That is good," Bazil replied with a satisfied nod. He paused as Atlis continued to speak, mentioning someone did see him. It was a woman in tan, one of the maids. The half-elf was concerned. On the one hand, she might've just thought he was someone who just got lost but was no threat. On the other, there was a risk the woman would tell a guard whi would tell Val who would tell the king. Bazil carefully nodded.
"Okay, that could pose a problem." Bazil nodded and lightly sighed. He headed back towards the door and looked between Evanora and Atlis. "Well I'm going to go see my father now. Stay in here, and keep quiet. I don't want you to get caught." He began to exit the room, taking one last look at the other prince and his sister.
-0-
The assassian continued to follow her path. A quiet had grown upon the wood as she made her way through the underbrush and trees. It was rather unsettling, though Olwen didn't let it get to her. As she headed through the forest, she heard something up ahead. She tensed slightly, ready to grab her weapons if they were needed. After a moment of hesitation, she revealed herself to whatever was on the other side of the foliage. It was the woman from earlier. Olwen offered a smile and a nod.
"Hello again. I heard something and was going to see if you needed help." Olwen was many things. A thief, an assassian, a servant even. If there was one thing she wasn't, it was heartless. Even though people in her line of work were considered bad, she wanted to be sure the stranger was okay. It appeared she was, though there was a different energy to her now. She didn't seem as friendly, which concerned Olwen.

Evanora rolled her eyes as her brother turned to leave the room. When he turned to get a second glance in, Evanora crossed her arms and stuck out her tongue. "oh go on, we heard you." She shook her head, her taunting voice almost coming out as a whisper. She knew how important it was right now for her and Atlis to stay where they were, and to mind their own business. As Basil left and closed the door behind him, she thought for a moment. "Maybe we can pick out of of Basis books and make it look like we're studying, in case my father wants to know what you look like or whatever." She shrugged her shoulders. "Its worth a ttry i suppose..." Atlis looked around the room at the walls of books that surrounded the two of them. "I guess you could pick." He suggested, looking kind of lost.
Edarid paused as Olwin revealed herself through the foliage one more time. She kept her glaze cool, her icy stare not flinching in the slightest. "I know what you are." She spat the words out as if they were bitter to her tongue. "Your an assassin. Not a messenger." The words came out with almost to much hate and disgust, taking Eadrid by surprise slightly. She continued to glare at the woman. "Even if i was dying, I would never want your help." Tears began to stream from her eyes. Unintentionally, her hands were in fists by her side, her arms trembled with the hatred that flared in her. Without warning, a large animal flew over-head, casting a dark shadow over the two. Things had suddenly grown almost as dark as the night as the creature was large enough to cover the sun and block the light around them. Without waiting for a response from Olwen, Eadrid responded. "I am your Queen, Olwen. I am Eadrid. I hear things on the wings of these trees, I know why you're out on this journey, and it is not to deliver a simple message to the kingdom ahead, it is to capture my son Atlis and bring him home to his death." AlthoughEadrid knew that she was no match for the assassin, and revealing the magical creatures that had become her life was dangerous, she couldn't control the urge to protect her young boy, regardless if it had been years since she saw him.
