Heeeeeeeello, I love fantasy. And I write with similar post length/styles. I can give examples if you so desire. I'd love to brainstorm plots as well. Apologies that this introduction isn't the best. I'm running a bit low on sleep and trying to find what words I want to use isn't working out.

Huuum. Well, I tend to have a lot of vampire OCs, but that might be closer to paranormal than fantasy. But I have two OCs that are very good at taking on any roles. I tend to think of plot as they relate to the characters - I find that the story can really be driven in interesting directions with characters that have problems to work through and so forth. When those characters are placed into an interesting situation they might be rather interesting. Have you heard of many stories that take place in a fantasy library, perhaps? It might be interesting for characters to interact in that. Perhaps there is some mystery to work out or a fish-out-of-water scenario where a character is put in the setting but isn't yet equipped to handle it and dangerous accident ensue. Or maybe something slightly more high fantasy? Not sure if that's your cup of tea, but I really buy into most anything. I like traveling in high fantasy settings - or rather, I like traveling in most settings. Starting out in one location, working out a local problem, and maybe move on somewhere else if the mood strikes. Perhaps a first conflict could be a disagreement with the law or local ruler? Or if we're looking for a slightly less high fantasy and more of hidden/urban fantasy, the 'turns out my neighbor/employ/best friend/worst enemy/pick your person' is a mythical creature and whoops I stumbled onto the other side of what I know to be true and fun fact magic or some form of it is real. Personally I would find it hilarious if both of the characters didn't like the other but they both have to deal with the other knowing about the existence of the flip-side of their world. Also, magic shop. I'm still in love with Bruce Coville's series about a magic shop and I will never stop.

I’ll get a proper response when my headache goes away, but I include vampires and ‘supernatural’ creatures in with fantasy loop :3 just because they adapt great between modern and high-fantasy periods doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be included~

You've set yourself up with that answer, you know that right? XD
Hope your headache goes/went away!

Meh, why should I stop you from playing characters you clearly enjoy :3 I have a particular weakness for Doppelgängers and Eidolons, so I feel you when you say your characters don’t always get the invite to fit in.
The headache is still present and awful but here’s my hot take:
Fantasy and supernatural are only different by the visibility of the magic at hand and the tone of the story.
Vampires aren’t the only things that fit in both realms, but it feels like they (and a hand full of other pop culture creatures) get separated out into supernatural genre.
Look at faeries. Even today, in *real life* there are people who won’t cut certain trees or walk certain roads at night. You don’t step on toadstool rings, and if you open a gate, you close it behind you when you leave even if the fence is broken. If I hadn’t told you were we’re talking about fae, what sort of horrible cryptid comes to mind? It’s all how you frame it.
So for our plot, I’d be fine with high, urban, or hidden fantasy, or any combination. I actually run a modern high fantasy DND game and it’s essentially been a car-trip to hunt down Old Ones.

Oh my gosh I love those mythological/folklore creatures. o.o I don't see them very often!
Sorrrrrrrrry to hear that! <3
Pffft. Yeah, I see it in a similar fashion! But I know not everyone done. I have the 'eeeeeeh I really would rather you just stuck to fantasy creatures' response. To which I make my one of my OC a witch and call it a day. *shrugs* It's why I have adaptable OCs. When I can, they're vampires though. I've got a couple other varsity though. I could always steal a cryptid being from one of the stories I write (gold scarab beetle shapeshifters which function similarly to willow-o-the-wisps are indeed something in folklore. I read vast numbers of books.)
Truly, after writing out those plots I'm leaning toward the urban fantasy or hidden fantasy (hidden fantasy moreso). I think there's a lot of shenanigan which can come about between a clash of modern technology and magic. Do you have any characters you have a particular muse for? I have many different wandering muses for my characters which can be human or fantastical, so before further plotting I usually like to hear a bit about the characters possibly within the RP. I usually like plotting something around characters, because it - for me anyway - helps me to see how a character can play out in a plot which fits them instead of heaving a plot and then trying to find a character that can work for it.

Hmmm mayhaps... The Doppelgänger makes an attempt to replace the vampire, not knowing they’re a vampire? It leaves them both in a position to discover the other, and neither really wants the other going unchecked because they know who they are?

Okay, but I love that idea. I 100% would love to do that.
What sort of setting would we want to do? Modern day or historical or futuristic?

I think it depends on the flavor of vampire you’d rather go with. The Doppelgänger would be fine in either setting, it just means the hunting method gets changed up a bit based on the forensics available.

I think slightly historical could probably be very fun because then both are at risk of being found out by the locals too. There'd be a bit more distrust from the civilians.
As for flavor of vampire, that's tricky. I literally came up with a new OC yesterday called John Smith who I'm itching to use. XD

I'm cool with medieval! I've been researching a bit of that recently. I've been becoming familiar with the 1800-1900s as well, though more so if we're talking World Wars.

Ahhhh! I see! Currently I'm researching 1500-1600s. I know a bit about the 1800-1900s and would be very cool if you wanted to do that. Really, the time period can be up to you. I love most time periods.

Hey there! This introduction is kind of lame but I love fantasy/magic stories - they’re pretty much my whole jam right now. I’ve got only two some-what plots in mind but I think it’s be cool to brainstorm! I’ve also got a creature/species list goin on and I think it’d be really cool to add to it and rp some of them

Oh boy! Also, not gonna lie, forgot one of them at some point today so hopefully it comes back
The one I do remember essentially falls under demon or gumiho summoning - muse a summons muse b either on accident or for something simple/‘unusual’ as far as muse b is concerned and has to hang around until their purpose for being summoned is fulfilled. That, or repeated summonings and at some point muse b is summoned only for muse a to be like ‘idk I just wanted to talk, I’m bored’
That’s all I have in my last braincell and I’m sorry if that didn’t make sense I’ve been running around all day today

It’s interesting~ especially given how you take where summoned creatures go after their purpose is filled or before they’re summoned. Do you have any particular leaning to which character you’d want to play?
