Leon eyed the vampire suspiciously but said "Sure. Don't make a mess." and with that he turned to gather his things. Since they were up, they might as well look into the case while they were awake. And since people wouldn't likely be at the precinct, there was no point in heading over there. The problem with all this was the fact they had little to no evidence. It was frustrating to have a case, but nothing to follow up on.
Since he had been a detective, Leon could usually find just the right evidence to close his case. It had been a long time belief of his that every case could be solved, you just needed to put in the time and effort it would take to solve it. This case was wearing his belief thin, that was for sure.
Hopefully there would be some evidence in what Percival gave them and they could continue from there. Speaking of the vampire, Leon called out "Is there anything you need? We're going to head out after this."

It took some effort on Percival's part not to look relieved. The fact that Leon had actually dropped the subject might even have added a bit of extra opinion to what Percival had thought of him before. Unless he seriously believed that what Percival had been doing was something normal, in which case Percival was thankful, but also very concerned with Leon's lack of ability. "Working on this case is what I need," Percival muttered, but it was mostly under his breath. Aloud, more verbally, he said, "Yes. I need blood. Unless you want to volunteer to look the other way so I can go get some myself, I'm a bit reliant on you not to let me starve." One of Percival's eyebrows rose. "And something tells me that you wont be volunteering any of your own personal supply. In any case, I can't live off human food exclusively, no matter what I might like to the contrary. Suggestions are welcome." He was rather hoping said suggestions were a bit more constructive than 'go jump off a pear'. He was trying to be snarky, which seamlessly fit into his character. It was an actual need, but he was attempting to annoy Leon with the present and the stupid vampire house guest rather than reminding him of the fact that yesterday his partner had died in a matter of a few heartbeats thanks to ... well ... their problem. He wasn't sure if he was going to be successful about it, however.

Sounds fun! I've never really joined a club before, but it does sound like it could be interesting.) I'm very excited for the break coming up. It's only monday, but like that's better than nothing haha)
Leon scowled at even the mention of the vampire drinking blood. It was unfortunate though that Percival made a good point. It would be going against his job and morals to just let the vampire drink from anyone willy nilly, but at the same time he wasn't too keen on letting the vampire drink his own blood. Leon thought for a moment before eventually saying "Don't you know anyone that would willingly give you blood?" it was something of a last ditch effort. Of course, they could look into getting a blood bag, but blood in hospitals were needed for the patients. Not some vampire that strolled along with a cop by his side, asking for sustenance.
"How much do you need?" he added on, almost as an after thought. If it really came down to it he might just have to do something about the situation himself. Though that was obviously a last resort. If he weren't so strict with himself about the rules he'd consider looking the other way. Unfortunately it wasn't so easy to change habits.

(Oof. My computer has been giving me gripe. Today was stressful. I haven't heard back from the club yet, but I'm still checking in with one of the leaders regularly. ) Percival had to raise his eyebrows at the suggestion of him knowing anyone. "I was a wanted criminal," he said. "Generally speaking, I haven't even really been cleared. As you as my lovely bodyguard can attest to. I don't have many people willing to bleed for me with that sort of warning on me." Still ... he thought about the question. Was there anyone? "I don't know anyone in this state," he amended. "And no locations which I might have been able to get blood would still be willing to see my face. Not for a while yet, at any rate." He was apologetic. He didn't like the situation any more than Leon did. "Within the next couple days," he said, trying to reassure, "I am certain that there will be other options." He pressed his lips together. "Otherwise, I'm stuck with asking." He tapped a couple of his fingers against his arm, debating Leon's question. He knew the exact measure for safety, but he was doubtful that he'd get it. He rounded down. "A fourth of a pint," he said after a second. "Or a little less. So long as I don't get injured or ... run a marathon ..." Here his lips twitched in almost a smile "... Then that should be fine for the next day or maybe two."

"I see." Leon replied, voice flat "Well, I'm sure you can figure it out. Just don't cause any problems for me. I won't stand for another delay in my work." the detective was eager to get back to work, even if it hadn't even been a full 24 hours since the last time he had been out. It was obvious to everyone but himself that he maybe worked just a bit too hard. Or a lot too hard, but he didn't like to think that way.
And even though he spoke like he was going to leave it to Percival, he absolutely would donate his own blood to the cause if it meant they didn't have to slow down. But that, again, was a last case scenario and he didn't want to think to hard about it.

(These two have such wild dynamics.)
A delay in Leon's work? Percival almost snorted. But he had no real way to deny it. Right now, he might finally have a voice that believed him. If only a little. It didn't seem likely that world as a whole would trust him and Leon certainly didn't. But for the time being, he'd take the willingness to turn a blind eye. He just wasn't sure how willing the eye was. Well, he supposed it best to test that out. He spun on his heel, waved a hand to at least indicate that he'd heard, and started heading for the door. He hoped Leon didn't expect him to get blood by remote control. He wasn't likely to just be able to call someone up and ask. So that meant leaving the house. How inconvenient would that be for Leon? Best to test it out now. Maybe he could get to the car before the human caught up.

They really do haha)
Leon jumped to follow him, eager to get out and back to the field. He had keys in hand and his phone tucked safely away in his pocket. A lot had happened and it had been less than 24 hours. The detective threw himself into his work and ignored mostly everything else, so it wasn't as if the events had affected him. Well, they might eventually catch up, but that was to be worried about then. He clicked the keys to open the car and got in the drivers seat.

"I didn't expect to be getting a taxi driver," murmured Percival. However, it didn't sound rude. Tired was a better word. He sounded tired. He just took the passenger seat and stared out the front window for a bit, as if trying to think of where to go or what to do. There weren't many options. His hand fumbled a bit, but he started looking around the car. There had to be one, right? But maybe he was just looking because he'd always had one. Finally he found it in a glove compartment. A map. He hardly even knew what state he was in honestly. It started to blur together when he thought to hard about where he was or where he should be. But he was lucky. He was lucky that he still remembered where he needed to go. He opened the map across his knees and started looking at the tangle of streets. It was a wild place, containing pain where he didn't want to look too hard. That included a place he jabbed a thumb at, looking at Leon as he did. It was near - neighboring really - a park. Presumably, there was a residential building there. "Go here. It's the only option in the area. If you're lucky ... it wont be dangerous. If I'm lucky, it wont have anyone who wants to kill me. I doubt the universe wants to dish out any extra helpings of luck right now, though." If it had, they might find something related to the case there. Percival just doubted it. If not ... well, if Leon didn't want to go, then Percival was getting out of the car and hunting someone on the streets. Leon would have to work a bit harder if he wasn't to make Percival's job a bit easier than it's current level of impossible.

That was probably one of the most suspicious things he'd heard, and he was a detective. Raising an eyebrow he said "If this is going to be breaking the law I don't want any part in it." but he didn't stop and instead started driving towards the area on the map that he been pointed out to him. The constant eternal struggle of doing things the right way and doing things the quick and efficient way, it seemed.
In his mind however, this was better than any other options they had. Leon didn't think they could get blood from a blood bank, he absolutely did not want Percival hunting, and he'd rather not have to donate his own blood to the cause unless absolutely necessary.

"Technically I wouldn't call most vampires very legal on the best of days," Percival pointed out. "But no. It isn't illegal. Just inconvenient." Which was an understatement, but it was the best he had right now. It was the extent that he said for the drive. What else could he say? Telling Leon about where they were going would be a bit too much like admitting weakness. And Percival couldn't rely on that right now. He was already weak enough. But that didn't mean he was risking Leon's life either. Too many people had died. So when they got there, he was the first one out of the car. But he didn't move further than that. Instead, he moved around the side of it until he could open Leon's door. They were in front of a simple brownstone building. It could be an apartment or a slim house nestled between other buildings. It was hard to tell without entering, at least from an outsider's perspective. To Percival, he knew it was just a small, multistory building. A house. That was all it was now. It was what he told himself. "Try not to look snack-shaped," he said to Leon. Then he turned to face the house. Only a trained eye would have noticed the stiffness in his shoulders. A less trained eye would have looked at the house and noted it was slightly familiar. It was the same place the Percival's picture, the one with the evidence about the Priestess, had been taken. Maybe there was more reason to be wary than just that. Percival stepped forward, up the steps, and then waited for Leon. His eyes searched the officer's for a reaction - he seemed braced for one.

"I wouldn't dream of it." Leon replied flatly. If someone was planning on eating him, they'd have a hell of a time trying. When they walked up to the building Leon immediately recognized it. Due to this though he didn't notice the stiff form Percival had taken up. It was a problem of his. He was more invested in a case than the people around it. Only when he was paying attention and it was key to a case would he showcase his ability to read someone.
He turned to look at Percival "What exactly is this place? It was in the photo." he sounded suspicious. Percival wouldn't do anything stupid would he? The whole precinct knew what he looked like and they knew Leon was in charge of him.

"It was in the photo," said Percival. "It was my house." This statement seemed almost dismissive. But how else was he supposed to phrase something that felt like fresh stab wounds. "One of them, anyway," he said with sigh - a small show of weakness. He stepped the rest of the way forward, hand on the doorknob. With a jerk which probably had a lot more force behind it than it looked, the lock broke with an audible snap and Percival pushed the door open. It seemed quiet enough from the door, but Percival clearly paused long enough to listen before walking in. "Hopefully," he said, voice low. "No one is here right now to interrupt me. They'll probably know I was here though." He walked down the hall, taking forever to explain something. "They," he finally said. "Being other vampires. Old friends. None of whom are here right now, as far as I can tell, so if you wanted to poke around while I check who's been staying here in my stead, feel free." The latter part was surprisingly easier to say than he expected. Someone had already taken over the house in his long absence. What was one more interloper? He doubted, given time, that he'd have much if any privacy from the police anyway.

He just broke the lock. With a detective right in front of him. What the hell. Leon sighed and rubbed at his temples, but decided against commenting. Just get this over with and you can get back to the investigation. He told himself this over and over "Just how many of your kind are there?" he asked, slightly curious and more surprised than anything. "I'll look around, but I'm staying close." he was still suspicious of Percival, which was to be expected at this point.

Percival snorted. "In the house or in the world, Leon?" His voice was neutral, but he looked away from the police officer. Instead, he slowly opened the refrigerator, as if expecting a snake to jump out at him. "No one is here as far as I know, but by the looks of things … two others keep residence in the building." And not much of the old things had been moved. He didn't answer about any other vampires within the world. Leon could infer or he didn't need to know. At least not right now. "They aren't my kind anymore," he murmured into the florescent lit interior of the fridge. Then he pulled out what appeared to be a sports bottle. He assumed Leon would find some entertainment in poking around. Percival knew it was a double edged sword. It had been his residence, not so long ago. But it was a possibility that the Priestess had stayed here at some point in time. Who knew whether or not "his kind" had decided to trust her. But there would also be photos. All very domestic. Percival sat down, watching out of the corner of his mind all the locations of the house. It was the best he had. "I would check for letters or paper of some sort," said Percival, unscrewing the lid of the sports bottle.

Leon glanced at the bottle, but thought it better not to ask. The detective started to rummage around, carefully placing things back in their original places as he did so. He was a pro at this kind of thing after all. Do something for a couple of years and you got good at it. He eventually made his way to a small desk of to the side and pulled open the drawers to see if he could find anything interesting. If the priestess had once been here, there must be some sort of evidence to lead them to her once again. No one entered a place without leaving something behind.
