ππππππππππππ Lately I've been trying to think of titles for 1x1s and then they just end up changing, ha ha. Also, did you have a preference on what vampire I us? I know that you know three of them (Myrnin (though he's a canon character I stole), Percival (who I've been thinking about), and Aliissa (who I used in Noyla with Percival.)) I've also got Eveline (female), Tom (male), and Marcus(male), who are from the same universe as Percival. Or I could just shop-lift anyone from Percival's universe, actually. XD

Hmm, well I have a male character in mind. So any other dude is ok with me! My character is probably going to be that cliche 'cop' character where he has too much trust in the system and finds it hard to do anything that's not by the book lol)

What sort of character dynamics are you interested in?
Also, I don't think any of my dudes are straight, so if this ends up as a romance I am perfectly fine with that. XD
Percival: stiff fellow who struggles with doors. Has trust issues - he doesn't open up easily. No humor. Somehow, no matter where I RP him, he ends up setting fires. (Since we're going with the 'killed someone close' I'm adding my thoughts on that: In Percival's universe, his work partner (possible romantic partner? My characters have a bad habit of not telling me stuff like this for a long time) is Marcus. If he was killed, then that would be a pretty big reason for animosity. )
Myrnin: eccentric fellow with a very ... specialized fashion sense. Is a scientist of sorts. Loyal like a dog. Has trust issues, only the reverse of Percival. Trusts too easily and those he trusts tends to bite him. Would probably drive your by the books cop mad. (That trust issue thing. He could have trusted the antagonist and got burned badly. Maybe some good friends of his were killed. So then there's the difference from most of the others where there is a deeper background history possible between the antagonist and my character.)
Marcus: the joker. Has a sense of humor and tries to lighten a situation. Isn't very stiff and is pretty kind. I have only slightly less muse for him just because I don't RP him so often. (Flip what I said with Percival and it works the same. Only Marcus' personality would have shifted more due to the loss.)
Tom: daredevil. Gets in trouble and in with the wrong crowd a bit too much. Has a slight bit of a snarky temper. (Might have ended up in a wrong crowd resulting in the death of someone he cares about by the hands of the antagonist.)
Any of those catch your eye? I have the problem where I have too many choices and all of them I can think of good interactions and backstories for. XD
Oh ye! Is your character aware they're vampires or does he have to find that out during the attack on his partner?

Hmmm I'm leaning towards either Tom or Percival ^^ And I usually like things to end in romance cause I'm sappy like that haha Enemies to friends to lover is my favorite cliche) I imagine they'd know he was a vampire since they're blaming him for murders done by a vamp.)

Sorry this took so long. It takes me forever to come up with new characters and it's not even that good lol
Leon Wells -- 24
-- Leon is a very straightforward, earnest, and intelligent person well known for the work he has done as a detective. He puts a great amount of trust into the system the police have set up and never strays from it. Leon was brought up in a strict household and because of this he rarely does anything against the rules, and if he does it will bug him until he corrects what he did. His great intelligent makes him less than humble and he can hold a grudge for a life time. While not friendly to everyone, he is generally enthusiastic and talkative. Unless of course you are someone who has broken his own set of ethics.
-- Leon is of average height, maybe a bit shorter, and has tidy black hair. His eyes are an icy blue color and he is always seen wearing glasses as his sight has declined from many late nights at a laptop screen. Leon has many scars on his arms and hands from past incidents with criminals, and he has a gunshot wound to his shoulder. On days where he is not wearing his uniform, which consists of a basic suit, he wears simple clothes. It is obvious that he has little to no fashion sense. )

AH CRAP sorry I'm so bad at getting things started. I'll be more active once we actually get started. Since I took ten years to reply I wrote up a starter. Hope that's ok with you!)
'An illusive vampire that has proven to be a danger to the public. There have been seven murders thought to be connected to him, all of which were violent and seemingly unprovoked.' Leons eyes glanced over the words on the screen of his phone. According to their Intel the vampire would be here tonight to take another life. Leons team had heard of his appearance just earlier this week and ever since then it had been a wild scramble to get everything set up. They weren't going to let the vampire take any more lives. His boss had even hired a travelling priestess to help against the vampire.
Leon was currently sat in his car in front of the building, said priestess sitting in the back of his car and his partner to his side. As the clock ticked closer to the time they'd been told Leon found himself feeling uneasy. There was something about this whole thing that left a bad taste in his mouth. It must be because the vampire had caused so much pain and death, he told himself. Shaking his head he set his phone to the side and looked to his partner and their guest.
"It's time. We need to get into place." as soon as the vampire showed himself they would attack. According to the priestess they would need special bullets and weapons specialized to hunting the supernatural. With gun in hand Leon stepped from the car and turned his full attention to the building.

(Perfectly fine! Tempted to hijack the unnamed partner for the 0.2 seconds they're alive. XD )
Leaning back in the chair in the relatively bear room, Percival looked over what was arrayed on the desk. A couple of photos, most of them blurry, a hat, a silver badge (well, iron, but he was describing the color), and a spare set of ID cards. None of it was very helpful. The ID cards weren't even his, they were recreations of other peoples. 3 people out of 7, the only information he'd gotten a hold of. The photos were a bit more varied. He turned one or two of them, looking at the blurry face of a woman, then glanced over the rest. IDs and photos combined, that was five people that he had a face to. He growled a bit under his breath and shoved the silver badge into a pocket, then all the rest of the items apart from the hat were shoved off the table into a bag. He could look at this stuff every night and it still wasn't any different. Ramming the hat onto his head, he pushed the chair back and lifted the bag over his shoulder, stalking around the room and looking at the blank walls as if they would give him answers. But all that ran through his head was the same old, same old ... He couldn't find an answer. Or the face he was looking for and also never wanted to see. Rubbing a finger over his brow, he murmured, "You'd think this running would get easier after these months, but it hasn't." He wasn't talking to anyone. He was the only one in the building. And he had no phone or electrical device on him. No ... he was alone. But that didn't stop him from talking as if someone ... painful ... would answer back. "Running and hunting and being hunted," he muttered, a mantra now more than a murmured comment. "It's got to be here though. This town, this time. Has to be. Has to be." He paused though, at a door. The door was closed, a wood frame with a wood door and a brass knob with a lock. Nothing special and nothing eye catching. But Percival stopped for some reason and pressed an ear to the wood. Had he heard a car? No. No, his hearing wasn't that good. The nearest busy road was a half-mile away. He hadn't heard something, had he? Something else? The wind. He was jumpy. This place was isolated. There was no reason to think he would be here. And even if there was, there were easy escapes. How many times has that come back to bite you? How many times have you found a body, still growing cold? Haven't forgotten, have you? But Percival hadn't. He pushed himself away from the door and frowned at it. If there was once thing he knew, it was he needed to get back to figuring out what was next. "Stupid wind ..."

Haha feel free to!) And thanks for your patience!)
Leon watched the door from a distance, he was leaned against the car in a nonchalant way, but he always kept an eye on the door while his hand was resting on his gun. The priestess was stood by his side as she watched the door with a pleasant look on her face. Leon hadn't heard much about her before his boss had brought her onto the job. Apparently she was a travelling priestess that would offer her help with supernatural issues.
He'd read that she also offered advice and blessing to people who needed it. What kind of blessings he wasn't sure, but it seemed like she was good at her job. And if she was as good as people say that meant she could help them with their vampire problem. Leon let out a quiet sigh as he glanced back over to the house. It wasn't as if they had a concrete time, but now that they had entered the suspected time for the vampire to leave he was starting to get just a bit antsy.
Remembering that he was a detective and it was his job to take criminals in while solving the crime behind it he steeled his nerves and continued to wait. Leon took a moment to look over to his partner and see how they were doing.

(My intention this morning was to reply at once. They I got caught up with everything else. But I did end up thinking a bit about what I was going to say, so I guess that's a good thing.)
Gideon was tense, possibly more than Leon. He didn't return the glance, instead looking over the building. It wasn't a particularly impressive house. It was just one of those which was far enough from town that it was a pain to get to. With his eyes narrowed, he went over the usual MO of this vampire. They tended to pick out of the way buildings to hole up in, but they usually only found the evidence after the murder had been committed and they were able to connect all of the pieces back together. By that point, the vampire had always moved on. It was very difficult to predict when or where the vampire would turn up next, but lately intel had been coming in both here and at the last murder site of where this vampire would be. They hadn't made it last time. But the creature was getting sloppy. Too easy to track. And that was making Gideon nervous. He couldn't help feeling that getting here was too easy. Glancing over at the priestess, he didn't make any comments, but he hoped the higher-ups were right about her usefulness. They'd need it. It was almost time.
---
There was one thing about all of this that Percival felt most uncomfortable with. And that was when he was going out to try and find a match. The pattern between victims had to be there somewhere, but so far he couldn't find it. He hardly needed to bother with where he went, since he knew that behind him - like clockwork - the latest homicide would be pinned on him. But it was getting their first that was what he was struggling with. This had to be the right place. The right town, since ... well .... he didn't want to think about how predictable his stops were if you knew what you were looking for. The police and detectives didn't. His "friend" had a far better idea, it seemed. But at least that gave him a chance. He knew the location - the town he was supposed to be in - but he didn't know the target. Even to him, his way of hunting this ... "friend" ... seemed all over the place. There seemed like so many simple answers. He could just leak the list of towns to the police. That was a simple answer. But this was his. His list, his hurt, his fault. And he didn't trust the vampire to continue to follow the script if more than he knew it. The vampire needed him to take the fall, but that meant that Percival learned a bit more every time. And every time, he had to hope he was getting closer to stopping them. Sighing, he clipped the silver badge to the inside of his coat, rubbing a thumb over the engraving in it. A nail traced an edge of an embossed star. He dropped the edge of the coat before he could think too much. He set the thin brimmed hat over his curly blond hair and then slipped his feet into his shoes. It was going to get dark soon if he wasn't careful. He needed to work out where to head. Grabbing the bag, full of all the things he really needed if he had to move quickly, Percival laid a hand on the doorknob and then pulled the door open, stepping out into the front yard.

The second Percival stepped out of the door and light illuminated the night. The spotlight focused on the vampire and Leon took a step forwards. He noticed Gideon take a step as well, and the Priestess took a spot up beside him. Feeling better with the two on his side he called out, voice loud enough for Percival to hear "Put down any weapons and put your hands up. You're surrounded with no chance of escape."
Leon had pulled out his gun and had it pointed at Percival. His face was set in a frown and he looked ready to shoot on sight. He knew vampires were fast, but he had confidence that he could hit Percival if he moved. Cop cars came from down the street to surround the house, their red and blue lights blinking in the quickly darkening area.
Behind him the Priestess smirked. Leon couldn't see her expression, but if Percival looked over he would be able to see her. Her hands were clasped together in front of her chest and as soon as her smirk disappeared she looked like a innocent woman only her to help. The only one here who knew what she was was about to get arrested, or even better he would get shot.

Like a dear in headlights, Percival completely froze up, eyes wide and reflecting the light from the bright light. But those glass-like eyes turned even from the pointing gun, to look at the 'priestess'. Everything, from the muscles in his hands to the ones around his mouth tensed. Fingers strained, as if they could come how reach into the ground and pull out an escape - or an attack. His lips thinned to a line and eyes narrowed. Very, very slowly he put his hands behind his head. He had no weapons. He didn't have any need for them. Apparently someone thought he was expendable now. Was tired of him either hunting her or taking the fall for all she had done. Perfect. Just perfect. That probably meant he was about to get shot. Either purposefully, or on 'accident'. Just because it was what would tie up all the loose ends. "I don't have any weapons," he said hoarsely. Other than the fangs in his mouth and his own arms and legs. His eyes darted around, but he was just as aware that there was no escape like Leon had said. His mouth dry, he could only think of two options. Rush the Priestess and hope that he took her out before he was shot in the back (or hope that the guns weren't loaded with bullets that could hurt him, even though with her, he knew they would be) or try to negotiate. They'd never believe him if he pointed fingers. Squeezing his eyes closed for a second, then opening them wide and watering in the light, he said, "I have a hostage!" The words jumped to his mouth easily and his expression smoothed out into something that was more confident than he actually felt. "Jennifer Mendez," he added, the missing persons report jumping into his mind from the area. He looked at the priestess when he said it, both hoping and fearing some reaction. This missing person was the most recent and he had been going to check ... to see if he could find anything about her and if she was the target this time. If she was going to be the next name pinned on him. "If you want to find her you better let me speak. If you don't, you'll never find her." Potentially, that last part might be true. He just had to hope that the police had some sense and weren't just the priestess' doing. He had to hope that they'd somehow care. Please ... please listen to me ... Marcus ... He shoved the thought aside, hands still above his head, as he tried to look at Leon and Gideon. Gideon looked like he was wavering a bit. Gun still trained on Percival, but he looked like he wasn't going to shoot Percival. That's all Percival needed. He needed them to give him just a little time. He couldn't hope they'd actually turn on the priestess, but he could hope they'd be distracted enough that he could attack her and make it before they got to him.

The vampire was probably lying. That's what Leons gut told him at least. However there was still the small chance that he wasn't so Leon held up his hand. The guns trained on the vampire were lowered slightly, but still aimed at him. Leon took a step forwards, leaving the Priestess and his partner a few feet behind him "I will listen, but if you so much as twitch there will be a bullet in your head." he warned. It was distasteful to let a criminal control them like this, but Leon knew they had to find the missing person.
Behind him the Priestess looked surprised. She had not expected him to actually come up with a plan like this. It was hard to tell, but behind her calm expression was a hint of tension. Percival was good enough to kill her, especially in her... current state. She was relying on the humans to distract and kill him.
"Where is she?" Leon pressed, waiting for the vampire to reply.

Yeah, thought Percival with a note of pride that never made it to his face. I can think on my feet "friend". Why do you think I'm still alive after this long? But he couldn't feel safe and he couldn't be confident. He needed to focus. One wrong word would have a bullet through his head and one wrong move would do the same. He needed to take this carefully. "I'm not moving," he assured, as if this was just a normal day and situation. He needed to seem calm, but more than that he needed to be just convincing enough to give them pause. The answer he gave held no hesitation in it. No pause to allow any of them to think he was making this up on the spot. His life was in danger and it was either say the first thing that came to his mind or they'd catch him in the lie. "There's a house on Millcreek Road. 141 Millcreek Road. Old. Has dying grass in the yard." The description was accurate. This wasn't the only house that he had scouted out. The difference was it contained no woman. Even as he was saying it, his mind was raising. If the Priestess had know he was here, she might have known about the other houses. The police might have already searched it. But if he spoke, it might buy him time. "Send your officers there," he said, just to be sure. "And you wont find her alive." Or dead either. Unless it was about to turn into yet another frame up job that the Priestess had exicuted better than she thought she had. "Not," Percival finished. "Unless you listen to what I have to say." He tilted his chin, eyes still pulled to the Priestess more than the guns themselves. He waited a second, eyes then turned to look at the officers. Leon seemed to be taking charge, but the officer to the back was reaching for his radio. Percival didn't try to stop him, but he did make very sure that his eyes met Gideon's when he looked up. Percival's eyes moved to Leon and he said simply, "I'll tell you exactly how to get to her safely if you let the women beside you hold one of your bullets." He hoped the request sounded odd enough - perhaps like a man without all his marbles - for them to do as he told them. Maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't, but it was the one thing he could think of to at least prove that she was not a human. But if they already knew that, then the request was fruitless. They already believed him guilty and his own words hardly changed that opinion. He needed to make them distrust the Priestess beside them. That would be far more tricky then buying himself more time.

This seemingly completely crazy request made everyone hesitate. Guns were slightly lowered and there were shared looks of confusion between everyone there. Leon couldn't understand why the vampire had made this request. His mind quickly fired off a few guessed, but none of them truly seemed to fit the situation. If there was any time to try and attack the Priestess, or make a run for it, this would probably be the time.
While everyone in front of her was confused the Priestess looked worried. But only for a split second. If Percival attacked she wouldn't be able to do anything unless she planned on outing herself as a vampire. She could do that but... well she enjoyed having the police force run around like headless chicken. It truly would be a disappointing turn of events indeed.
Leon found his voice and asked "Why?"

There was a subtle shift to where Percival was looking. He was looking at Leon, hardly daring to hope that he might have made an odd enough request to get them to think. But while they didn't at once do what he asked, this allowed him to jump through the possibilities. He could run, but this was the closest he had been to her in ages. He knew that while running was an option, he couldn't actually do it. "You don't get to ask questions," he snapped, using his own voice to stall. His eyes found the second police man again. His gun was lower than Leon's - angled almost at Percival's legs right now - and he didn't think they'd have the reaction time to stop him. If they did, they'd get a leg and not his chest. He hoped, anyway. "Unless there's a reason why you can't?" he asked, allowing his eyes to sweep over the two humans again. Did they know? He still couldn't tell for sure, but he thought they didn't. "Give it to her," he said evenly. "And you'll see why." He would have leaped then. He would have risked the bullets and the humans and the Priestess herself, but Gideon did something that Percival didn't expect. He lowered his gun, then opened up his gun and took out one of the bullets. Then, looking it over for a second, he held it out to the Priestess. "Let's get this foolish request out of the way," he said, kindly because clearly Percival had some point to all of this which was ridiculous. Percival tensed, glanced at Leon, and hoped he would be careful. If they didn't know who she was, then they were just disillusioned police officers. Hadn't he been in their position not too long ago? Gideon's arm extended and he tossed the bullet in the Priestess' direction like he was tossing a small ball.

OOF, I'm so sorry!! This fell off my participated.)
It all happened in a split second. The bullet came close to the Priestess and suddenly she seemed to snap. Her eyes flashed red and she smacked the bullet aside. Her hand shot out and grabbed Gideons extended arm "Insolent whelp." she snarled, nails digging into his skin. Now that they knew she wasn't normal she had no choice. It had been a day or so since she last had blood, so she was weaker. Even Percival might have the chance to take her down like this. She craned her neck and sunk her teeth deep into Gideons neck.
Leons eyes widened as he watched with horror as the life seemed to be sucked out of his partner in seconds. He was too late to find his courage and before he knew it his partner looked lifeless and still. The Priestess tossed him aside and Leon quickly held up his gun "What the hell are you?"
All attention that was once on Percival was now on the bloody scene in front of them. If Percival wanted to escape he could, but there was something about the whole situation that made it seem like the Priestess would kill Leon, and anyone else trying to stop her getting away.

It was very obvious what she was. Percival tensed, but the thought of running never even entered his mind. That didn't exactly mean that the actions he took next were to try and save Gideon ... that might have been painting Percival as too much of an attempted hero. He knew as soon as his "friend" had a hold of him, he was doomed. He watched the life drain from his eyes in small spasms, already moving before the body was even tossed aside. He was raising forward, eyes darting toward Leon for a second - but only a second. Percival might have had revenge on the mind, but it was a secondary goal. The first was to not have more people die. So far, he had failed at both. Percival's eyes blazed as he rushed between Leon and the Priestess. This was both very stupid .... well, actually, it was just very stupid. Leon might not have had a chance to catch up, but he was the one with the gun loaded with bullets that could hurt Percival's little "friend". Or, if Leon wasn't careful (or he purposefully aimed), he could end up hitting Percival. The only possible perk was that Percival could attack the Priestess freely. Which was exactly what he did, as he dived at her, his own teeth showing around a grimace. His movements were fast, and his one hope was that the punch he was about to use would find her nose. And then? He wouldn't stop hitting her until he could find an opening big enough to kill her.

I've been sick for like three days, end me XD)
Leon was stunned, the splash of warm blood across his face and shirt and the scent of blood filling the air. It took him a split second to get his never about him but it wasn't fast enough. The Priestess reached out and grabbed his arm, her nails digging into his arm. It looked like she was trying to drain him of blood so she could stand against the rest of the police force and Percival as well. Leon yanked his arm away from her and raised his gun. He just managed to jump back from her before she could grab him again.
In the second she was distracted by him Percival had gotten close and swung at her. She winced as his punch landed on her cheek, leaving a bruise with just one hit. She hissed at both of them and jumped back. Looking between them she knew she couldn't win. Leon had his gun trained on her and was ready to shoot.
All of this happened in seconds and soon she had turned and sprinted away. It was so sudden the police force was late to shoot at her. Bullets hit the ground at her heels. Leon reached out and grabbed Percivals shirt "You!" he snarled "What's going on here?" Percival seemed to understand this, at least more than he did. There was no way the vampire would be able to run after the Priestess either, the rain of bullets making it hard to even trace her.

Her escape was like small daggers to Percival's chest, but there was nothing he could do or say which would change what was happening. His body was trembling - shock he assumed - though he was numb from the reactions he should have been having. It was like he the physical closeness the person he hated had triggered all the feelings which he thought he had dealt with. Had this man, this police officer, even heard of Marcus? Or was it just a number? But he'd lost his partner, and Percival couldn't just keep his head hanging in dejection over the Priestess disappearing. Swallowing, he said, "The person you've been hunting, me, has always been the wrong one. Leave me be. Let me hunt the real killer in peace ..."

Leons mind switched to work mode and he forced all the emotions down. It was horrifying that his partner had been killed, he was in shock, but this vampire knew more than they did "She's already gone. Tell me what you know. If she's truly the killer you must have proof right?" as per protocol, Leon was going to force this vampire to stay here and tell them all he knew. If he was the killer they'd deal with him, if he was telling the truth... well maybe the information he had could help them track down the killer.

"Oh yes," said Percival, slapping his forehead in a mock lightbulb moment. "Evidence! Why didn't I think of that!" Sarcasm dripped from the vampires words. "Now, if only I had thought of that! Maybe then I wouldn't be in this mess." He patted his pockets dramatically. "Now, where did I put it. Ah ... you know what ... I think it might be in my other coat." He dropped the act then and there, looking at Leons with a stern look at best. "I have direct eye-witness accounts. My own. As for proof ... I have a bit. Not enough to prove my innocence, but maybe a bit to prove that there is at least another guilty party. As for my own innocence." He held up his hands, palms out to show he was unarmed. "Feel free to check my right inner pocket. It isn't proof, but it is at least a bit of interesting facts about the man you've been hounding." Percival's eyes were steely. "I better get it all back though." There was fury in his voice - and frustration - but there was something else too. Something alone and lost and hungry for something other than the fuel which had been feeding his search. In the inner right pocket of his coat was a silver badge, very similar to the badge the police wore. It had a rising sun on it, with a moon rising directly behind it. Then displayed across the sized were six stars. The script which was included seem to imply that the item was important. Also in the pocket were several photos. Percival had no doubt that the police officer would find his small collection of evidence and proof to be rather telling. It certainly didn't tell much more than the fact that Percival was a suspect. But one photo had Percival in it. He looked different than he did now - not physically, but he looked a lot happier. He was standing next to another man, African American and about the same age as Percival; his head was bald and his eyes had more smile lines around them than the other vampire. Both looking into the camera with a smile, and while Percival held the same badge in one hand, letting the other man grip the other side. Percival looked proud. The other man looked that way too, but also embarrassed. That was the major details of the picture, but red pen in a small circle drew the eye. It was on the badge, in the reflection along the polished surface. If you squinted and knew who you were supposed to be looking for, then you could see the familiar shape of the Priestess' head, holding a camera as she took the picture.
(Does that connection work? Because I believe there were plans for there to be? If not, ignore the last three sentences and the paragraph still stands.)
