For any open characters otherwise)
Hawkfeather sat near the warriors den his brown tabby fur finally cleaned up from his restless night of sleep. He arose to his paws while his icy blue eyes glanced around camp with a small smile as he made his way over to the freshkill pile to grab a bite to eat.

{can't use my layout currently} "Calm down! If you want to be a warrior, act like one!" Jackalclaw scolded gently as the apprentice vigorously juped around. He sighed. When was she going to be more mature? Was he doing something wrong? He turned to Stoatclaws. "I trust that you can choose some skillful hunters?"

Stoatclaws let out a light chuckle and shook his head. "No no, just us is fine. It's a good time for Thornpaw to learn how patrols work and to work on his hunting as well." The tom moved toward the smaller tom, laying his tail over the other's shoulders. "Calm down. You and your mentor have been assigned to my hunting patrol along with Shadowstep. Now let's get going."

Thornpaw acted calm but was totally excited for this. A hunting patrol! Awesome!

Shadowstep nodded silently to her patrol ‘at least I am doing something’ she thought to herself as the patrol readied to leave camp. She glanced down at Tornpaw and had a slight flashback to her apprentice time and her misadventures when she was lost outside of clan territory, she shivered at the thoughts and shook her head to clear it. ‘Snap out of it Shadowstep’ she thought to herself as she focused back on the patrol

also, i had more plot ideas! one of jackalclaw’s mistakes could’ve been not being able to protect an apprentice against an eagle, and so, an apprentice (im thinking maybe brackenpaw if i’m able to part with him) would be found dead with eagle feathers surrounding them in the future. just an idea. but oh my we *really* need a rogue leader

"Yeah. We can bring back a good amount." Birch added flicking his tail back and forth. "We'll hunt in the field first then try in the forest if we have time."
Sagewhisker wasn't that thrill to go on a hunting patrol but held back from staying anything as the group started heading out to the base of the mountain as Stoatclaws lead them. "Make sure you be mindful of your surroundings. We don't want any injuries or anything." She meowed to Thornpaw.

"Okay! I'll be super careful, don't worry." Thornpaw replied, fully awake. He followed the other cats, and minded his surroundings like his mentor told him to do.

Cypress paced the rogue territory tirelessly, her thick shoulders hunched in unnatural arches. She growled to herself quietly, every turn was harsh and her steps were brisk. She stopped for a moment and looked around at her group of rogues, who were enjoying their recent catches from the previous hunting session in the fields. Then she yanked her posture back to the ground and whipped to the right, continuing her pacing session.

"Yeah. We can bring back a good amount." Birch added flicking his tail back and forth. "We'll hunt in the field first then try in the forest if we have time." . Storm nodded to the broad shouldered tom, as his gray ears flicked up and remained alert as he scented the wind. “I think our best bet would be to head to the edge of the field near the forest, some critters might come out and we can catch them in the open?” He thought aloud to Birch “what do you think?”

A big yawn escaped the young she-cats mouth and shook her head to wake herself up, as she did so she noticed Cypress nearby and quickly composed herself and flicked her tail in greeting from where she stood

( wolfsteps sure thing!) She acknowledged the greeting from the she-cat and stopped pacing for a moment, not focusing her eyes onto Eclipse's, she was facing the ground, shoulders still tensed. "Yes?" A deep murmur, almost a growl, erupted from her throat.

Bluepelt stretched his body in the warrior's den, everyone else was sleeping, so he looked like some freak being the only cat asleep. The dilemma was; he couldn't sleep. It was so strange, every attempt to close his eyes and just sleep failed. He resorted to rolling onto his back, paws limply in the air and staring around above him - a strange sight to behold.

ashstripe | camp | Jekyll
Ashstripe's eyes darted around camp - the large blue orbs sunken from a lack of sleep. The night before had been a sleepless one, consisting merely of tossing and turning. What else? The tom had been posted in front of the elders' den, and worry that something would come attack Losttail throughout the night had plagued his thoughts - the tom was, after all, weakened with old age. Ashstripe shook out his pelt in a sorrowful attempt to make himself look more awake, though of course, it was no avail. Sighing, he pushed himself through camp, urging his body to focus on at least the miniscule hours of sleep he had partaken in the night before. "Softpaw?" he called. His voice was laced with the beginnings of a yawn, though the large tom was able to fight it. Poking his head through the briars in the entrance to the apprentices' den, Ashstripe couldn't help but give a hint of a smile at the small form of his apprentice. "Softpaw," he repeated, though his voice wasn't nearly as kind now; he had now stepped properly into his role as mentor - as opposed to a friend of the apprentice. He was there for work, not play. "We're late to training."

Bluepelt perked his ears at the sudden noise breaking the still silence of the slumbering clan. He gently rolled over and rose to his paws, striding outside of his den and swinging his head around. He caught the faintest glimpse of what seemed to be a tom with his head poked inside the Apprentice's den. He sighed in silent relief and scanned his - and the clan's - surroundings. Making sure no threats were present, he headed back inside his den, instantly thinking his actions were pointless and returned outside. He settled himself down and continued with some late grooming of the fur.

rainpaw | camp | UnsightlyHeretic831 Rainpaw's face fell at her mentor's remark. "I - I'm sorry - I didn't mean to-", her words dropped. What had gotten into her? She was more mature than that; she had to be - or she'd never become a warrior. "I'm sorry." The apprentice hung her head with her words, though it only remained down for a moment. A real warrior wouldn't spend time feeling pity for themselves. Raising her head again, she spoke. "Fight training. I'm very excited for what you have to teach me, Jackalclaw." To an outsider, her sudden shifts in emotion had the potential to seem odd, but she only hoped that her mentor would appreciate her efforts.

here! might be poofy though))
The small apprentice lifted his head slowly, still groggy from sleep and stood. "Okay, I'm coming Ashstripe. He stretched out, a yawned erupting from his chest as he reached forward with his front paws, clawing at thin air and the base o his spine popped, causing a sigh to follow the yawn. The tom finished stretching and shook out his fur, which fell neatly into place as he padded to the entrance of the apprentices den and then out into the camp. He smiled at his mentor, now awake. "What are we doing today?" He then noticed the sleepy state of the tom and a worried look filled his gaze. "Are you sure you'r up for training? I can go out with one of the other apprentices and their mentor if need be."

ashstripe | camp | Jekyll "No." Ashstripe's face hardened - simply another sorrowful attempt to wipe the exhaustion from his gaze. "I-I'm not tired, okay?" The phrase came out as more of a growl than anything, and the tom's face dropped; even he was taken aback by his sudden tone. "Let's just go. There are duties to be done, and we're not going to finish any of them by going back to our bedding." His voice had now gone back to its normal, slightly stern tone. He thought back to Softpaw's earlier question. What are we going to do today? Mouse-brain Ashstripe. Of course you don't have anything planned. Might as well not have even gotten out of your den this morning. Despite the annoyance that was growing from the tom, he could not ignore the fact that he was far from fit to do battle training in his current state. His apprentice would knock him away immensely too quick, and while that may boost the younger tom's ego, it simply was not going to help him learn in the long run. "We're going to do some hunting today, Softpaw. Leaf-fall has nearly begun, and warriors catching multitudes of prey is very important for the Clan; I'm sure you know that." He looked down at the fluffy form that was his apprentice, and a craving for squirrel slowly crept into his being. "Let's go near the forest."

Their auras seemed to collide; pride and competition with kindness and curiosity, it felt so strange, almost a ticklish feeling. "I've been doing brilliantly, thanks. I was just pondering, apologies for my tense behaviour," She replied, sitting down, "I want to wait until Birch wakes up so us three can collect prey whilst the rest stay here." She sniffed, flicking her tail. "If you don't mind." She added with a hidden smile.

brackenpaw | camp | ᵇ ʳ ⁱ ᵍ ʰ ᵗ "Bluepelt!" A tiny voice rang throughout camp, and to accompany it, came Brackenpaw - barreling himself out of the apprentices' den. Moments before, the tom had been busily sheathing and unsheathing his claws - just to see how long it would take him to get bored of it. He had found his answer: not too long. The sight of his mentor's blue-gray fur through the briars had been a welcome one, and now, that same fur was nearing the apprentice rapidly. He pushed his paws into the rocky ground in an attempt to slow his pace and stop himself, though the latter was to no avail. The smooth ground kept the tom from stopping, and rather, took the balance from right under his paws - sending him tumbling to the ground in a small flurry of dusty fur. He pushed his head up after the fall, looking to his mentor with a small grin spreading across his brown face. "I saw you doing that odd thing where you go into the warriors' den and then come back out again. I'm assuming you were just bored." The tom got up from his spot on the ground, padding closer to be right next to the gray warrior. "But I'm here now - you don't have to be bored! We can train!" His voice fell, in solemn realization of how kit-like he sounded. "You can always come and get me in the apprentices' den. Waking me up is fine."

Bluepelt | camp | rose | (sorrry for copying this thing at the top, it's kinda cool) Bluepelt was suddenly alarmed, his brain took so long to process what had happened he simply entered a cycle of freezing and un-freezing until he decided to rise to his paws, shaking some dust and residue briars from the tumble. He eyed the apprentice with his striking eyes, "Indeed, we can train, but please, don't make such a loud entrance, warriors learn to sneak upon prey and ambush, not cause a ruckus that sends the prey running for the mountains." He scanned the camp briefly and flicked back to his apprentices, "You're very lucky not to have awoken anyone, let's go."
