Burton woke up pretty late, having slept through his alarm. Well, perhaps not. Sometimes he pressed snooze in his sleep without even realising, and this may have been one of those mornings.
But it didn't matter, because Lea and Twylla were harassing him to get out of bed, the two girls knocking on his door - evidently very stressed that they were going to be late. Lea was fifteen, in her sophomore year, and Twylla was not quite thirteen yet, in 7th Grade and in middle school.
"Burton I swear to God if you make us late and I get detention!" he could hear Lea growling
"It's too late for me, save yourselves," Burton groaned "go on without me."
But his joke didn't seem to calm the fears of his sisters and so he climbed out of bed a few moments later, rushing to shower and get ready so they could all get to school on time. Luckily he didn't put a huge lot of concern into looking fashionable, simply running a brush through his hair but largely leaving it a little messy and donning a hoodie and a pair of jeans. He didn't have time for breakfast but the cereal bar he grabbed as he and his sisters were ushered out of the door by their mother would have to do.
The three of them tended to walk to school, first dropping Twylla off before Burton and Lea headed on to their high school. And so that was what they did, waving off the youngest sibling before setting off once again to school.
Lea still looked a little bit irritated that Burton had almost made them late (they had made up the time with Burton getting ready quickly and by taking a couple of shortcuts), but Burton knew she wouldn't be mad at him for long, they never were.
When they got to the school, it seemed that Lea immediately saw some of her friends and started to break away from her brother so she could go talk to them.
"See you later, Lea!" Burton called to his sister
"Pretending I don't know you," Lea called in response, making Burton laugh a little
"Love you too!" he responded with a chuckle
And with that, he headed inside too, moving through the hallways to head for his locker

Pascal woke up on time with his alarm, stretching for a moment in bed before getting up after a few moments. Mallory's alarm could be heard buzzing at roughly the same time as his own. He usually set his alarm early enough that he could afford to take a leisurely pace in getting ready for school, and that any delays could easily be made up for without really affecting things. He couldn't really be bothered with stress or anything
And so he had time to get a bowl of cereal, shower and get dressed without really needing to rush too much. He dressed in a simple dark navy t-shirt and jeans. He tended to wear a lot of graphic t-shirts too, but this wasn't one of those days. The fourteen-year-old had brushed through his straight dark hair and was pretty much ready for the day after that point. He just tended to go for clothes that were simple and practical.
His bag was full with school stuff and heavier than it really should have been, since he never seemed to remember to put stuff back in his locker. He would have to make sure he remembered to do that when he got to school, otherwise he would just be carrying around a ridiculous amount of stuff. Also in his bag were a few blueprints of inventions his sister had come up with. When his sister came up with an invention, she tended to draw the blueprint with Pascal's help, both bringing their scientific knowledge to come up with a creation Pascal could make with his engineering skills and with the (usually limited) materials available. He was hoping to maybe work on one of the projects if he got some free time at school that day, possibly.
Talking of his sister, she was awake and ready to go too. They always travelled to school together, obviously, which was quite nice. Or at least Pascal thought so. They tended to swap between walking or taking the bus, usually depending on the weather or how lazy the two siblings were feeling on any given day. Their journey to school usually gave them a little time to talk, and he was quite close with his sister. She was sometimes a little protective of him but honestly, he didn't mind. it was just because she loved him. Plus she was an older sibling, it was practically her job to be protective of her younger brother.
"Ready, Mal?" he asked his sister with a smile as he picked up his bag.
Not that it really mattered as a question; they risked being late if they didn't leave pretty soon and so even if Mallory wasn't ready she would have to be very quickly anyway.
It was time to head out.

(I think I’m gonna make Livia like the super chipper class president/ prom committee / key club needs everyone’s validation and approvaltype)
As usual, Livia Pulchera was one of the first ones to school. She had a thick stack of prom flyers in hand that she had to hang up before the bustling crowds of high school made it impossible to do so. She kept one headphone in, humming along to some old Taylor Swift song as she worked, leaving no wall or locker without a flyer. This years prom theme was (let me know yalls ideas for it and we can vote on a poll). She and the prom committee still had a ton to do, but she was excited to finally see the end result. Just as she was hanging the last few posters, more people started to file into the hallway, and she smiled warmly at them as they passed her.

Each morning, Everest sat down and ate breakfast with his parents. The conversation was never warm or deep, simply casual small talk made over black coffee and a perfectly balanced breakfast made by his mother, who never made anything unhealthy. Once he had finished eating, Everest took his plate to the sink and then went to grab his backpack and his lacrosse bag out of his room. Once he was back downstairs, he nodded goodbye to his parents, though his father seemed more interested in checking the stock market on his phone. Everest contemplated saying something to his father, but decided against it, and grabbed the keys to his 1969 Plymouth road runner, which he had restored last summer after years of saving up for one.
The drive to school was short, as he lived just around the corner. Once he got there, he parked the baby blue muscle car in the back of the school parking lot, away from where all the other cars would park in an effort to keep his from getting scratched. Then, with his backpack on one shoulder and his duffel bag on the other, he walked inside.

Mallory grunted as her alarm buzzed, warning her that it was time to rise and shine. She heard Pascal’s as well, they set their alarms for pretty much the same time, and didn’t exactly have a choice. She sighed, pulling the covers off of herself, and walking to her mirror in her room, and the bathroom that existed and linked her and Pascal’s room, one inside, the girl, wearing sweats and a simple short sleeve t-shirt as her pajamas, started to brush her teeth, the first thing she always did.
Brushing her hair, however, was a bit more of a chore due to how ratted it was from bedhead, she tended to be a fashionable girl, and rather serene in looks awake, but asleep, she rolled and kicked like no other.
She quickly did her hair up, curling certain parts to make the curls neater, even if her hair was already curled. Her blue eyes were outlined with a minor amount of makeup, and she went back to her room to change, simply exchanging a few words with her younger brother. She put on a blouse with a long skirt that matched it, and wore nice and comfortable black flats. The color was in her favorite color of grey-blue, with a grey skirt, blue and white blouse, and a blue necklace along with it.
She spoke with her brother, a sketch pad and blueprint paper in her bag so she could design inventions for her brother to create. He had some, she knew, that he helped her with, and she had ideas already in her mind.
“Yeah,” She said, smiling at her brother, perhaps her favorite person in the world, “I’m ready to go!”
She held open the door for him, before following behind on the route they needed to take.
When Pascal asked if she was ready, she nodded.

Holly found herself almost skipping, the sweet girl had a large smile on her face. She loved learning, she wasn’t the most inventive personality, and sometimes she was a total know-it-all, and was a part of the school’s Research team, and had won multiple competitions in the past.
For that, some people couldn’t stand her. She was one of the best on the team, and was an explorer by every means of the word. Her father helped her out with some projects, and her mother tried(and failed) to bond with her over them.
For the most part, her mother tried to boss her around, and didn’t give her freedom. Holly couldn’t stand that, her curiousity was a bursting thing, and couldn’t be quenched by being told what to do. She wanted to be an independent researcher one day, which meant she could pick her topics of choice, such as working with Cyanobacteria or working on electrophoresis projects.
Suffice to say, she was near the top of her class, and did so without cheating. She loved school for the most part, and couldn’t stand many of those around her at times. Complaining about things, doing drugs, or harassing others.
She joked around too, Sure, but she concentrated too, and as she entered the school, her sharp green eyes focused on the forms before her. She was there a bit early, per usual, and the smile fell from her face. She remembered part of why school was such a drag back as well.
The people, judging, looking for rumors. She immediately fell back into that monotone, spotting some kids like that, and walked by, keeping her head low to avoid them. She didn’t really show it, but it did bother her, their words, at times. She didn’t really care about the people around her for the most part, many saw her as weak, and it agitated her.
She was waiting for the day someone attacked her out of spite, she knew it wouldn’t end well, but it would be fun.
She stopped, glancing down the halls. She had no siblings, not living anyways, probably why her mother was so distant.
She shook her head, looking out for others as she walked, humming softly.

Amadrya knew that she didn’t have a lesson first lesson, she actually had some free time, and so she figured it would be a good idea to perhaps go to the gym and get a little bit of a workout done before the day started. She hadn’t gone to the gym in a couple of days and so she figured it was probably about time she actually did so. It was helpful for helping her quell her more hotheaded emotions and she always felt better and more energised after a little exercise.
That was how she found herself in the gym, having changed out of her normal clothes into her gym clothes, claiming a treadmill for herself and getting to work. She would vary her workout normally and true to use as much of the equipment as possible but she suspected she wouldn’t have time for a long workout that day anyway. She might as well just focus on the treadmill for that day.
She was soon starting to get into a rhythm, just focusing on the movement. She was just running, that was it, nothing else existed in the world. Her mind cleared, her tension melted away. She could even feel herself naturally speed up a little as she stopped thinking. The key was not overthinking, not focusing too much. Just letting what you were doing take over. No outside distractions.
She’d not be here for long, she’d then have time afterwards to shower again and get changed, probably even to reapply her makeup and then she could be on her way to class without it even being like she’d done a workout.
But for now she didn’t need to think about anything like that. Right now she was just running.
(It’s short, sorry x)

The two siblings had already decided that they were going to be walking in that day, and so when Mallory held the door open for him, Pascal headed out ahead of his sister, leading the way down the path toward the school.
He slowed so they were walking together, though, and cast his older sister a glance.
“You seem cheerful this morning,” Pascal said with a dimpled smile, “have you got a good day ahead today?”
Not that Mallory wasn’t usually cheerful, but it did seem like she was in a good mood that morning, and he had to admit that he was quite curious as to why. He was, too, actually. It just seemed altogether like a good day.
For example, he’d been pretty sure he had forgotten his homework, but when he did a quick rifle through his bag as he walked he was relieved to see he hadn’t. It really did seem like it was going to be a pretty good day.
And they were going to be on time to school, it seemed; they could get there comfortably, which gave them time to beat the worst of the crowds in the hallways. Another positive.
(Again, short, and didn’t progress anything much. Sorry!)

Mallory had her head up, she was part of the Student Council, a proud girl, and smiled at her brother. She wasn’t exactly short, she wasn’t tall either, just abot medium height.
Her blue eyes were bright, and she hummed softly, “Yeah,” She smiled again, her pearly white teeth showing, “It is a good day, I can feel it in my bones,” she responded.
She turned to her baby brother, reaching over to ruffle his hair some, “So, any plans for today, little buddy?” She called him that sometimes jokingly, and smirked as the school doors came into sight.
“No tests for me today, and we have a dance coming up for the school soon,” school council stuff, she wasn’t any Olivia, she saved plenty of time for her family, and she was sure Livia did too, but Liv was rather busy and sweet too.

(I’m honestly contemplating Holly’s backstory still for this.
She has a happy life, but it’s more about her mom. I’m thinking maybe Holly had an older sibling, but they died before she was born due to something and her mom doesn’t want to get attached to her and I said just gone most of the time.
Because someone’s life had to suckle even if it’s not Holly’s.
Oof.)

Everest always stopped by the gym before school to put his lacrosse bag away and work out during his first period study hall. Normally, the school gym was a ghost town this early and this time of year, as there weren’t any morning work outs for the sports teams yet, though those would come soon. But he still liked to get a quick five mile run in each morning, and had an agreement with his study hall teacher, who happened to be one of his coaches, that Everest could come work out during this time.
Having come to school already in his work out clothes, with a change of clothing in his bag, Everest just dropped off his things in the locker room before grabbing his water bottle and heading out to the workout room down the hall. As he walked in, he was surprised to see he had company: a tall (? I think she’s tall? Idk XD) brunette was on one of the three treadmills. The middle one, to be exact. Which meant he would end up next to her no matter which one he chose. Walking up, he put his water bottle in the cup holder and gave the girl a nod when she looked over, before stepping into the machine and turning it up. As he warmed up, he snuck a glance at the girl next to him out of the corner of his eye. She had quite a few piercings, which is what helped him remember where he knew her from. She was on the soccer team. One of the better ones, if he remembered correctly. And he was pretty sure they shared a science class, though he had never talked to her before.
